Praise the Lord III

From the Bible, here is ample reason to praise God. We would be in deep trouble if it weren't for Jesus. I was teaching AWANA kids Wednesday. I was explaining to a little girl how Jesus is our righteousness.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Romans 5:1-11

No Jesus, No Life
Know Jesus, Know Life

Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity.

Praise the Lord!
As He went out of Jericho with His disciples…blind Bartimaeus, sat by the road begging…when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”…So Jesus…commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man…And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus…Jesus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”…Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52

I Asked the Lord

I asked the Lord to comfort me
When things weren’t going my way.
He said to me “I will comfort you
And lift your cares away.”
I asked the Lord to walk with me
When darkness was all that I knew.
He said to me “Never be afraid,
For I will see you through.”

I did not ask for riches.
He gave me wealth untold;
The moon, the stars, the sun, the sky,
And He gave me eyes to behold
I thank the Lord for everything
And I count my blessing each day.
He came to me when I need Him,
I only had to pray.

He’ll come to you if you’ll ask Him to.
He's only a prayer away.

:poly:

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy;
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
His pow’r has no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:10-12

My glory
It is by your hand the heavens were stretched
It is your hands for me that were out stretched
and nailed to the wood so rough

The earth is your foot stool
and the heavens your throne
and to a wooden beam were your feet nailed

You are the Creator of all things
There in nothing that was not made by you,
and yet for me you her nailed to a tree

I will kneel before no other
You are my master
and my King.

You are my righteousness
my glory and splendor.
I will ever praise the name of Jesus

Be Strong in The Lord

Be strong in the Lord and in His power;
Put on His armor every day.
Thus you can take your stand each hour;
The devil’s schemes won’t lead you astray.
The battle’s like a flood,
Though not ’gainst flesh and blood;
But ’gainst the spiritual realm,
Where Satan is at the helm;
You face the powers of darkness.

Take God’s full armor — your life surround,
So when the day of evil appears,
You’ll then be able to stand your ground,
And after all, to stand without fear.
Stand firm, then, in the faith,
The belt of truth in place;
Breastplate of righteousness,
Feet shod with readiness

That comes from the true Gospel of peace.
Take, over all, the shield of faith,
To quench the flaming arrows outpoured.
Salvation’s helmet wear over your face,
And take the Word, the Spirit’s sword.
Pray in the Spirit’s power,
All kinds of prayers each hour.
Be always on alert,
And pray for all the Church.
Through God you’ll win the battle!

:poly:

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Am I a Soldier of the Cross?

Am I a soldier of the cross, a follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause, or blush to speak His name?
Must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize, and sailed through bloody seas?
Thy saints in all this glorious war shall conquer, though they die;
They see the triumph from afar, by faith’s discerning eye.
When that illustrious day shall rise, and all Thy armies shine
In robes of victory through the skies, the glory shall be Thine.

A song of Praise
Lord you are my pilot,
you have taught my soul to
soar on the winds of your Praise.
And I shall do so now.
You hands have stretched out the heavens.
you have shaped mountains,
and filled the seas,
All of creation declares Your name.
You call all the stars my name.
Yet they they cannot be counted by mankind.
We do not know how many of them there are.
You know them all by name!
You can count all the hairs on my head.
and yet your have regarded me in my small state.
The hands that shaped the universe
were nailed to a cross for me.
I will sing of Your glory
all of my days.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Rising While it is Yet Early
While it is yet early
I will rise,
and sing of your name,
The heavens declare your Glory,
There is nothing made,
That was not made by you,
All life has its breath by you,
You are the first cause
of the great Universe,
It is by your Word
that it has its being,
All creation declares Your Name,
from the smallest insect,
to the greatest Star,
If my lips were silent,
The rocks would cry out,
even the falling rain,
reminds me that you are,
the clouds painted with morning light,
declare to me that You are,
I cannot but sing
That you are The Lord of Creation

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD.
Psalm 71:16

I Will Go in the Strength of the Lord

I will go in the strength of the Lord,
In the path He hath marked for my feet:
I will follow the light of His Word,
Nor shrink from the dangers I meet.
His presence my steps shall attend:
His fullness my wants shall supply;
On Him, till my journey shall end,
My hope shall securely rely.

I will go in the strength of the Lord,
To the work He appoints me to do:
In the joy which His smile shall afford
My soul shall her vigor renew.
His wisdom will guard me from harm,
His pow’r my sufficiency prove;
I will trust His omnipotent arm,
I will rest in His covenant love.

I will go in the strength of the Lord,
To each conflict which faith may require,
His grace, as my shield and reward,
My courage and zeal shall inspire.
If He issue the word of command
To meet and encounter the foe,
Though with sling and with stone in my hand,
In the strength of the Lord I will go.

Matthew 8:19

If Jesus Goes With Me

It may be in the valley, where countless dangers hide;
It may be in the sunshine that I, in peace, abide;
But this one thing I know if it be dark or fair,
If Jesus is with me, I’ll go anywhere!
’Tis Heaven to me, where’er I may be, if He is there!
I count it a privilege here, His cross to bear,
If Jesus goes with me, I’ll go anywhere!

My Life is not my own

I belong to Lord
For he is my pilot.
I am nothing with out Him
in the Pilot seat.
He is My strength
He causes me
to mount up on wings
like the eagle
I shall not me weary
As i soar in the power of His love

I belong to the Lord
for He is my strength.
when grow less
He he becomes more.
He decrease
He increases.
May the world see Him
when they look upon me.
let me a mirror that reflects
His likeness.

I belong to the Lord
He is my light.
let glory in me
light up the darkness.
let drive back
the evil around me.
let me soar on glowing flame
lit with His glory
lighting up the night
so that they may see Jesus' Glory

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Praise the Lord!

Bear you one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

:poly:

Bear Ye One Another’s Burdens

Bear you one another’s burdens, as you struggle on thro’ life;
Turn not on your erring brother, add not to his care and strife;
Let your heart beat kindly for him, for this world with sin is rife.
If his burden be so heavy that he stoops beneath the care,
Help him bear it, of your vigor, give him as you well can spare.

Wipe away the tears of sorrow falling from his weary eyes;
Point him to a joy eternal, in the land beyond the skies,
Ere his pining heart in anguish, bitter, hopeless anguish, dies.
Sympathy and love can brighten burdens that are hard to bear;
Angels bright will help you nobly, angels from the land so fair.

Wrap not close your mantle ’round you Mantle dark, of selfish pride;
In your bosom, gentle impulse do not strive to crush or hide;
There is much of good and evil in this world so broad and wide.
Much for willing hearts of labor, much of good there is to do;
Then arouse! leave not the burden bearing heavy on the few.

:poly:

Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Mark 8:34

Carry Your Cross With A Smile

Tho’ your heart may be heavy with sorrow and care,
You may others to gladness beguile,
If a face like the light of the morning you wear,
Let the well by the wayside that flows unto all
Strength impart for each step of the mile;
Let your faith the great promises often recall,
For the work that you faithfully, willingly do,
So carry your cross with a smile!

Praise the Lord!

For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord.
Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.

Romans 14:8

Living for Jesus

Living for Jesus O what peace!
Rivers of pleasure never cease.
Trials may come, yet I’ll not fear.
Living for Jesus, He is near.

Living for Jesus O what rest!
Pleasing my Savior, I am blest.
Only to live for Him alone,
Doing His will till life is done!

Living for Jesus everywhere,
All of my burden He doth bear.
Friends may forsake me; He’ll be true.
Trusting in Him, He’ll guide me through.

Living for Jesus till at last
Into His glory I have passed;
There to behold Him on His throne,
Hear from His lips, “My child, well done!”

Help me to serve Thee more and more.
Help me to praise Thee o’er and o’er;
Live in Thy presence day by day,
Never to turn from Thee away.

:poly:

He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:30

Less of Self and More of Jesus

Less of self and more of Jesus, less of man and more of God;
Earnest prayer of many workers in the vineyard of the Lord.
Less of self and more of Jesus, pleads the saint in earnest prayer,
For he labors souls to rescue from the tempter’s cruel snare.
Self concealed, faith works its wonders, trusts the merit of the blood;
Claims for Christ the sinner’s ransom, leads the penitent to God.
Less of self and more of Jesus, as in social life we meet;
May the beauties of salvation others lead to Jesus’ feet.
Less of self and more of Jesus Yes, more of Jesus!

The Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3

:poly:

God of All Comfort

“God of all comfort,” calm and fair
Stretch the broad plains beneath Thine eye;
And silent, through the hazy air,
Rise the blue hills to meet the sky.

The music of the Sabbath bells
Floats softly on the balmy air,
And the green earth in thousand tones
Lifts to Thy throne her grateful prayer.

“God of all comfort,” deeper far
Than the glad voice of earth or sea,
Swells the full tide of thankful song
Our hearts would offer unto Thee.

Yet when we strive, our lips can frame
No words to speak Thy matchless love,
So far the honor of Thy name
Lies all our highest thoughts above.

Read Thou within our silent hearts,
The songs they vainly seek to raise,
And count their grateful tears for prayer,
Their blessed joy for tuneful praise.

He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom.
Isaiah 40:11

Near to the Heart of God

There is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God.
A place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God.
There is a place of comfort sweet, near to the heart of God.
A place where we our Savior meet, near to the heart of God.
There is a place of full release, near to the heart of God.
A place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.
O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God,
Hold us who wait before Thee near to the heart of God.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. In the resurrection morning, blessed thought it is to me,
I shall see my blessed Savior, who so freely died for me,
We shall rise, Hallelujah! we shall rise!

In the resurrection morning, we shall meet Him in the air,
And be carried up to glory, to our home so bright and fair,

Revelation 22:20

Christ is Coming
.
In the glow of early morning, in the solemn hush of night;
Down from Heaven’s open portals, steals a messenger of light,
Whispering sweetly to my spirit, while the hosts of Heaven sing:
This the wondrous thrilling story: Christ is coming — Christ my king.
.
Oft methinks I hear His footsteps, stealing down the paths of time;
And the future dark with shadows, brightens with this hope sublime.
Sound the soul inspiring anthem, angel hosts, your harps attune;
Earth’s long night is almost over, Christ is coming — coming soon.
.
Long we’ve waited, blest Redeemer, waited for the first bright ray
Of the morn when sin and sorrow at Thy presence flee away;
But our vigil’s nearly over, hope of Heav’n, oh, priceless boon!
In the east the glow appearing, Christ is coming — coming soon.

James 4:6

He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

Leave it There

If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold,
And you have to get along with meager fare,
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

When your enemies assail and your heart begins to fail,
Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer;
He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through.
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

When your youthful days are gone and old age is stealing on,
And your body bends beneath the weight of care;
He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end.
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Leave it there, yes, leave it there,
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out.

My Life, Dear Lord, I Give To Thee

My life, dear Lord, I give to Thee
In humble faith and loyalty,
To be Thine own in what is planned,
And heed with joy Thy love’s command.

Show me the trails that turn and climb
Through lonely deeps to heights sublime,
Yet never lose their touch with life,
Its endless round of peace and strife.

I pray for tasks that ease the load
On other hearts along the road;
And love forgiving, patient, tried,
To quicken faith and hope beside.

Gird me with light whose rays and heat
Shall blaze a path to Thy blest seat,
That halting steps, no more afraid,
May reach the goals for which they’ve prayed.

O grant me grace to serve with Thee

Guide me in trails which few have trod,
Whose winding ways lead home to God.

Take, over all, the shield of faith,
To quench the flaming arrows outpoured.
Salvation’s helmet wear over your face,
And take the Word, the Spirit’s sword.
Pray in the Spirit’s power,
All kinds of prayers each hour.
Be always on alert,
And pray for all the Church.
Through God you’ll win the battle!

Finally...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:10
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:3

Am I a Soldier of the Cross?

Am I a soldier of the cross, a follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause, or blush to speak His name?
Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace, to help me on to God?
Sure I must fight if I would reign, increase my courage, Lord.
I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain, supported by Thy Word.
When that illustrious day shall rise, and all Thy armies shine
In robes of victory through the skies, the glory shall be Thine.

Praise the Lord! Amen! and Amen!

Blessings, peace, grace and to all here at TOL!
