This is not new - it is always been said since the outbreak started that natural immunity was better they wasn't sure how long immunity would last but they said at least three to six months.

But they needed a vaccine of some sort to help stop people from catching the virus or getting sick because so many were dying - hospitals overwhelmed and this was worldwide.
