It's a vote against Obama...not a vote for Bibi.

You can jump down off your soapbox now, your 5 minutes is up. The Iraeli's were not picking between two liberals from different parties which your beloved Republicans continue to offer and continue to lose the presidency with...Bibi won because he is exactly the opposite of the repulicrats in our country...Bibi actualy stands for something regardless of the consequence, in this case his clear contrast with the left & stern resolve was the leadership that Israel desired. The republicans could actualy learn something from this election and obviously so can you.

I disagree, I think Bibi is similar to establishment Republicans in the United States, he's just much more honest. Let's look at the facts:

In America it is possible to have a divided government, with one party controlling the executive with another controlling the executive. In Israel a coalition (led by Likud) runs the entire government.

Likud (with its allies) has led the Israeli government since 2009 when they won the Knesset elections and Netanyahu became Prime Minister. Benjamin Netanyahu is considered to be on the right in Israeli politics, so one would think that with 6 years of "conservative" control of the country, the government's policies would reflect that, right?

Wrong. Israel has been and still is very much a socialist country. Many industries (including healthcare) are controlled by the government. This goes back to Israel's founding in 1948. If I were to speak to a Tea Party rally and advocate Israel's economic policies, I would be rightfully branded as a socialist. The Israeli government forces its taxpayers to fund abortions (and since the US provides Israel with aid, American taxpayers are also paying for it). Israel may be the Jewish State, but most Israeli Jews are secular. Also, Christians are not treated well in Israel, whether they be Messianic Jews or Palestinians.

Israel is not a place where the average American Conservative would want to live. The Likud party, at least, does not claim to be pro-life or pro-limited government, as the Republican Party does.

Even in Bibi's right wing paradise (at least according to some of the posters here), universal healthcare is untouchable. That ought to really tell you something

Our alliance with the nation of Israel has yielded ZERO economic benefits for us, zero military benefits, zero benefits of any kind.

Oh how blind you are.
