If Evolution

Many evolutionist say that there is a God.

Many Christians view evolution as the work of God.

There is no bible verse that says God caused life to evolve. The bible only says that He formed life. The biggest problem with Evolutionist is getting an honest answer regarding ancient dates. The bible dose not say how old the world is. Perhaps the date would be, from what perspective? The bible times given are epochs of time, not literal days.

Typical Darwinist argument: Lots of people believe, therefore... Something. :idunno:

How about you at least complete the sentence?

Lot of people believe they are descended from apes, therefore... What?

The scriptures also do not say that God did not us evolution. The scriptures are silent on that point, but they do speak towards the method or methods of creation.

There are two creation stories, the first one begins at Genesis 1.1 and the second at Genesis 2.4b.

The second creation story has God creating with His own hands, first forming man from dust then planting a garden, then forming animals. Finally, the creation coming after the most experience: woman.

The first creation story matches the view of many atheists: the earth brought forth life. Yes, it was by God’s command, but it was the earth bringing forth life:

Then God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it." And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky." 21 So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, and every winged bird of every kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. 24 And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind: cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth of every kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good.

Haven’t you noticed that the first creation story has the earth bringing forth plants and the land and sea bringing forth animals, just as many atheists believe?

Which sentence do you think is incomplete?

I will add the missing s.

Many evolutionists say that there is a God.

Many Christians view evolution as the work of God.

Could you not understand it without the s?

The scriptures also do not say that God did not us evolution.
Scripture tells us that God would NOT use a process of death, pain, suffering and extinctions to create. Scripture calls death the enemy, yet God calls creation "very good". (And, the Hebrew context prevents the addition of deep time into God's Word)

God’s method of creation was to form a creature.

Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Genesis 2:22
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

Genesis 1:21
So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

I don't understand what usefulness your observations have. You might as well have said that the sun is yellow. I know. So what?

Lots of people think they came from a monkey. I know. So what?

Those passages explicitly rule out evolution as a possibility.

Where does the scripture say those things? Please post the passages that claim God is restricted in this way, and explain how the animal sacrifices of the OT were not used in the creation of the Jewish religion.

Did Jesus Christ have death, pain, and suffering?

God’s method of creation was to form a creature.
And yet the first creation story clearly says He decreed that the earth Bring forth creatures.

Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Forming is not mentioned here.

Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Genesis 2:22
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Yes, forming is the method of creation in the second creation story.

Genesis 1:21
So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Had you included verse 20, you would see His method of creation: decreeing that the waters bring forth the creatures:
And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky." 21 So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, and every winged bird of every kind. And God saw that it was good.

Let the waters bring forth life — just like many atheists say. Isn’t it cool that even atheists accept the method of creation in Genesis 1?

My point was, and is, that a person can be a Christian and can recognize that God used the process of evolution as a mechanism of creation.

Not at all.

You have mixed the two creation stories and, apparently, decided that they must be literal history.

They are not meant to be read as literal history. Both can’t be literal history, since they have different orders and methods of creation.

Then your Scripture is incorrect.

Yes, forming is the method of creation in the second creation story.

Nowhere in the bible does it say, they evolved.
Isaiah 42:9
See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Yes, there was no reason to share that information.

Many true things aren’t mentioned in the Bible.

Isaiah 42:9
See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Strange that you would think this verse applies to ancient history and the science of how things came to be.

The bible says that God formed man in His likeness from the dust of the earth.

I know. Everyone knows.

Now connect your idea to a conclusion.

Random assertions are useless.

Not at all.
Actually, yes.

The Bible says God created "male and female." Darwinism says the sexes evolved.

You have mixed the two creation stories and, apparently, decided that they must be literal history. They are not meant to be read as literal history. Both can’t be literal history, since they have different orders and methods of creation.

Sure, but not sure which point, or how much detail do you want, ..... Scripture refers to physical death as the final enemy in 1 Cor. 15:26. If death is the enemy, then it's logical to conclude a loving God did not use millions of years of death as part of a creative process. And, of course He would not call a process like that "very good". Gen. 1:31

Also, we can see that death, pain and suffering were introduced into our world after man sinned. If physical death was used as part of the creation process, then what was the purpose of the cross... it becomes meaningless.

Not sure if I'm answering your question??
