Here the the verve that settles this question .

In Rom 8:16 and this is what was given to ONLY the apostle Paul .

The spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's CHILDREN .

#1 The Spirit HIMSELF / AUTOS , is a PERSONAL POSSESSIVE PRONOUN that the HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF possesses .

#2 , And the Holy Spirit BEARETH WITNESS / SYMMATYREO , PRESENT TENSE , ACTIVE VOICE , INDICATIVE MOOD and the present tense means we also always saved .

#3 The Greek words WITH OUR / HEMON is also a PERSONAL POSSESSIVE PRONOUN that you possessive the Holy Spirit .

#4 , SPIRIT /PNEUMA is in the DATIVE CASE is the direct object and express personnel interest .

#5 And that interest is WE ARE / ESMEN and means we are CONTINUALLY forever in HIM .

#6 That we are THE CHILREN / TEKON which is in the NOMINATIVE CASE which means we are the SUBJECT .

#7 CHILDREN od God , or in the GENTIVE CASE and are his ;possession .

Unsaved fake Christians also read the Bible and base their assurance on verses they think apply to them. Jesus warned Christians not to be deceived.

Matthew 7

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The key to assurance is evidence the Holy Spirit is driving the Christian to diligently seek the Lord and His help in living a life pleasing to Him.

2 Peter 1

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Really? I have never heard that before now. How about this verse, is it directed at Christians?
It appears that there are many things that you've never heard of before.
1 Corinthians 10:12
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
That passage is NOT either of the two mentioned in the previous post, nor is it from either of the two authors of those two passages.

In the Matthew passage, Jesus was speaking to Israel
In the Peter passage, Peter was speaking to Israel.

marke, I realize that you are stuck in the myths of Churchianity and appear to have no interest in anything else. But the Bible not that difficult to understand if you just read what it plainly says. When Jesus was on earth, He was a minister of the circumcision (Romans 15:8). If you don't know what that means, you need to learn. Peter was also writing to Israel per 1 Peter 2:12. Your argument is not with me... it's with the Bible.

1 Corinthians 10
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

You can see from the first verse in that passage/chapter that Paul speaking TO his fellow Israelites.

It is also clear from verse 12 that Paul is warning against arrogance.

The baptism of the Jews in the Red Sea is a type of Bible-believers being baptized into the body of Christ by His death on the cross.

That's a claim... got any argument to support it?

Note that the Jews did NOT get wet. So they were really "baptized" apart from the Red Sea.

If we have assurance, does that mean we don't have to believe anymore? It seems to me, that if we are relying on Jesus Christ to save us, then our belief is in Him, not in any other type of assurance.

You are very disingenuous in your "dialog".
We read in 1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Christian scholars point out that the OT record is written for New Testament Christians for our admonition. Furthermore, the OT records contain types and shadows of things present and future, which go beyond the literal events and people themselves. Jesus is called the Last Adam. Jesus is not Adam, but Adam is a foreshadowing type of Jesus.

The Greek word translated "examples" in 1 Cor. 10 is tupos from which we get our English word type.

Jesus is not Adam, but Adam is a foreshadowing type of Jesus.

The Greek word translated "examples" in 1 Cor. 10 is tupos from which we get our English word type.
I would disagree with a part of what you said. The Bible does not call Jesus the "last" Adam. It calls Him the "second" Adam for He redeemed Adam's failure in the garden of Eden. He won on appetite where Adam failed as Eve was deceived into eating the one food that God denied them and Adam chose to do the same. Jesus won that battle in the wilderness when He went without food for 40 days and 40 nights and then overcame the temptations of the devil.

How We Can Absolutely KNOW Absolutely That We Are Saved:
By JAG
(written for my grand grandchildren ~ May 17, 2021)

All we Christians need to have the assurance of our salvation. A large
number of we Christians, in the past at times, have struggled against
doubt. The problem is this: Sometimes we feel like we're saved and
sometimes we feel like maybe we're not saved ~ or at least we have
some doubts that enter our minds. The solution to this problem is to
never trust your feelings on this issue because your feelings will
change with the wind. Your feelings will go from high's to low's
based on the changing winds of circumstances. Instead of trusting
in your feelings on this issue, put all your trust in God's Word which
never changes and God has said clearly and specifically that we can
KNOW for certain that we are saved. And God does not tell lies. He
always tells the truth. So? So "have faith in God" and KNOW that
you are saved.

("Have faith in God"__The Lord Jesus in Mark 11:22)

■ "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13

"SO THAT YOU MAY KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE"

■ "My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give
them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them
out of My hand. My Father, who gave them to me is greater that all,
and no one can snatch them out of My Father's hand."
John 10:27-28

"THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH"

■ "We KNOW that we have passed from death to life, because we love
each other."
1 John 3:14

"WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE PASED FROM DEATH TO LIFE"

■ "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

"SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE."

■ "Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys My word will never see death"
{that is, spiritual death ~ being lost}
John 8:51

"WILL NEVER SEE DEATH"

■ "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who
sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from
death to life."
John 5:24

"WILL NOT BE JUDGED BUT HAS CROSSED OVER FROM DEATH TO
LIFE"

■ "Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes
in Me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in Me will
never die."
John 11:25-26

"WILL LIVE, EVEN THOUGH THEY DIE . . . WILL NEVER DIE"

■ "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9

"WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS"

■ "For I am convinced that neither death not life, neither angles or demons,
neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love
of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39

{NOTHING IN THE UNIVERSE CAN) "SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF
GOD"

So if you ever have any doubts that you are saved, immediately read those
Bible verses up there and KNOW that you are saved. If Satan ever tries to
convince you that you are not saved, read those Bible verses up there and
KNOW that you are saved.

God Bless.

I have to disagree with this a little more. We are saved by faith, not knowledge, so the only way we can "know" we are saved is once again by faith, not knowledge. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Nevertheless, here is what I read in the Bible:

1 Corinthians 15:45
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
