Hey Jagg, you'll probably make friends with posters that are diametrically
opposed to your own beliefs? I have posters that I don't agree with and visa-
versa. However, I like them and they like me. I know that's a strange
dichotomy but, it happens. Some times you start out being enemy like
then, for some unforeseen reason, that change's.

Kind of like teenagers and their parents.

:)

Grosnick,

With a slight grin I reply: Yeah, maybe so. I have experienced that a few times
here in CrazyWorld [the Internet]. Thanks for the tip which was a pleasant thought.
I like pleasant thoughts. Music too. And exciting new food recipes. Top quality
movies like Avatar and Prometheus, and books, man alive I do love good books.
I just acquired How To Survive PureX, by Hannibal Lector . . . Chapter One is titled:
"Don't Let Him Get Inside Your Head." .. lol ..

Where does it come from? I've never heard it before.
I sort of get this one: meaning; "regarding your approach to the subject …"

And I asked because I was interested. Not because it was "necessary".
 "JAGG!" Come-on Purex! Land this plane!

I picked up "on your lights" while reading philosophy somewhere on the web years ago.

The explanatory-light that you would shine on a subject as you attempted to make it clearer and
clearer would be "your lights" that you were shining on a point-subject-issue. The phrase is
equivalent to "on your clarity-attempts" or "on your explanations."

I sometimes use the phrase to refer to a position someone holds,
for example I might say, "On Darwinism the human man is
a biological accident of nature, like a housefly."

Or I might say, "On your atheism the human man has the same
ultimate destiny as a house plant."

And here I thought you were using aviator terminology :chuckle:

Too late, he already OWNS your brain!

(Though those obtuse phrases do present some difficulty.)

:) Suppose A says, "He is" and B says, "He is not." How would we settle that debate? Take a vote? . . . lol . . .
The truth is like a turd, it finds it's way to the surface, eventually, and shocks and disgusts everyone when they see it.

(You can borrow that, if you want to.)

Thanks for the loan.

Btw, its the same problem. A says, "It is a turd" . . . B says "It is not a turd" . . . so its voting time again.
Say, what if my side has 18 votes and your side has only 12? :chuckle:

Eh, I saw that word "aviator" up-thread a few posts
ago, I sense it has an "inside meaning", and that in
time I shall be blessed to discover what it means.
Feel free to explain it to me anytime. I can hardly
wait to discover its significance.

Actually, everyone on TOL will tell me within two weeks. I usually just wait until the weekly comes out.

?
For me, it would have made a LOT more sense. An aviator, flying a plane, would use running lights and landing lights.

on your lights -JAGG

You know very well what the phrase "on your lights" means.

"On your approach".__JAGG

The meanings are obvious.

(and JAG was the Air Force/Navy show of the Judge Advocate General)
