The people have a right to form militias and arm themselves. A militia is a citizen army. The Army and Navy are regulated in the constitution. This is not. If a President or governor calls them into service, they don't have to go. If you do go, you are under their command. But that is a different thread.

Gun rights folks and pitbull enthusiasts start their arguments the same way: "Yes, X is dangerous" but then gun rights people go into our absolute right to self defense, and pitbull enthusiasts go in another direction.
No absolute right to own pitbulls. But yes, both guns and pitbulls are dangerous. That much is the same.
