Given Eternal Life !

Jn 17:1-3

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:


² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.


³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Rom 6:23

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life throughJesus Christ our Lord.

First we should understand that when God gave His Only begotten Son to the World He so Loved Jn 3:16, He gave that world Eternal Life in so doing, because Christ is that Eternal Life Himself.1 Jn 1:1-2


That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;


² (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)

1 Jn 5:20

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.


He, the Son which God gave gives Life [eternal] to the world because He is Eternal Life Jn 6:33

³³ For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth[eternal] life unto the world.

Amen, so the fact is, that because Christ Himself is Eternal Life, it's imperative that those the Father gave Him John 17:2-3 / has Chosen in Him Eph. 1:4, also have Eternal Life in His Son:


1 John 5:11-12

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us [God's Elect] eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.


So Christ who is Eternal Life, being the Surety Head Heb. 7:22 in the Everlasting Covenant of Grace for all God's Elect, or His Sheep Heb. 13:20, they were promised Eternal Life in Him before the world began Titus 1:1-2; 2 Tim. 1:9.
