FORGIVENESS FOR ISRAEL

Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Here Peter was speaking of Christ's resurrection and how Christ has been exalted to God's right hand. It is Israel that receives salvation. He is admonishing them of their guilt for the crucifixion and seeking their repentance. There is no mention here of Gentiles, nor the salvation provided to all by the cross. Peter is preaching the gospel of the Circumcision, which is, Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; Jesus's resurrection assured his return to establish His kingdom on earth; the nation of Israel needed to repent.

Indeed, although it depends who you define ISRAEL as being. ISRAEL is all those who believe and follow Gods Word in the new covenant. If we are not a part of Gods ISRAEL we have no part in God's new covenant. Gentiles are grafted in *HEBREWS 8:10-12; ROMANS 11:13-27. ISRAEL in the new covenant is the church and no longer ISRAEL in the flesh

ROMANS 9:6-8
[6], Not as though the word of God has taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
[7], Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall your seed be called.
[8], That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Peter says the Holy Spirit is given and the forgiveness of sins to all who obey Jesus.

Jesus says repent of your sins.

Peter gave the same gospel to the Jews and the Gentiles. Read what he said to Cornelius and his whole household when the Spirit was given to all of them. It is the exact same thing he told the people of Israel.

Israel here in Acts 5:31 is the Body of Christ. Christ is the Savior of His Body Ephesians 5:23

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The body of Christ was not revealed to Paul during Acts 5.
