Fiona Hill: "The president was trying to stage a coup"

“The president was trying to stage a coup. There was little chance of it happening, but there was enough chance that the former defense secretaries had to put out that letter, which was the final nail through that effort. They prevented the military from being involved in any coup attempt. But instead, Trump tried to incite it himself,” said Fiona Hill, Trump’s former top Russia adviser. “This could have turned into a full-blown coup had he had any of those key institutions following him. Just because it failed or didn’t succeed doesn’t mean it wasn’t real.”

Trump Officials Rush to Keep Him From Sparking Another Conflict—at Home or Abroad

High-ranking national-security officials have spent the last 24 hours scrambling to figure out how to keep their commander-in-chief, Donald Trump, from inciting further violence at home, spilling national secrets, or sparking last-minute confrontations with international foes.

The concerns in the upper echelons of the administration’s national-security community range from fears inside the Pentagon that the president will do or say something that effectively throws the U.S. into a military confrontation with another country to anxieties in the intelligence apparatus that Trump will divulge classified intelligence on his way out, according to four officials who spoke with The Daily Beast about the matter. All requested to remain anonymous in order to speak more openly about the discussions.

“This isn’t a hypothetical anymore,” said one senior administration official. “This is real. What happened yesterday changed the calculus. People are concerned about [the president’s] state of mind.”

Much more at the link.

“Yesterday was the worst day for the Republican Party since Lincoln’s assassination.”
— Joe Grogan, Trump’s former top domestic policy adviser
Hill's sworn duty was to support and carry out Trump's foreign policies. For whatever reason Hill was weak in that regard, which did not reflect well on her character.

If we learned anything from the January 6th Capitol riot, it's that MAGA terrorism is a legitimate concern. Those people tried to use force to stop Vice President Pence and Congress from performing their constitutional duties.
If we learned anything from the Jan 6 protest it is that crooks in DC can get millions of Americans to blindly accept any stupid lie they tell them for whatever reason.

Reports show that of the 484 people that have so far been arrested in connection to the insurrection, 47 hail from Florida. That's the most of any state, tied with Texas.

Florida also leads all states in arrests of individuals associated with the far-right groups' Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers, who were both active in breaching the Capitol.

More than 40% of the Oath Keepers arrested on charges stemming from the insurrection are from the Sunshine State and about a quarter of the Proud Boys.

Like brutal communist Chinese dictators, the democrat fascists who stole the election in 2020 have commissioned their jack-booted Gestapo troops to search, seize, and destroy every opponent of democrat voter fraud they can find in the country. Americans need to stop these lawless leftist democrap thugs before they destroy the whole country and everyone in it.

You can think democrats did commit voter fraud but you cannot prove it.
Tens of millions of Americans have no doubt democrats committed massive voter fraud in 2020 and are currently trying to ram federal protections for fraud through Congress in order to commit voter fraud in every future election. The majority of Americans do not think the police are bad, whites are wicked, or blacks are perpetual victims of white racism. That is why democrats must create massive numbers of fraudulent votes to keep getting elected in the face of such widespread opposition to their stupidity.

That only proves that tens of millions of Americans are as blinkered as you are.

But you do think that the Capitol police are bad.
Democrats are mostly alike. Like Jonathan Gruber, they either believe Americans are stupid or they believe democrats because they are stupid.

You’ve got to hand it to MIT economist Jonathan Gruber. The guy dubbed the “Obamacare architect” is a viral YouTube sensation. A few months back, he was caught on tape admitting that Obamacare doesn’t provide subsidies for federally-run insurance exchanges; it's now the topic of a new case before the Supreme Court. Today, new video surfaced in which Gruber said that “the stupidity of the American voter” made it important for him and Democrats to hide Obamacare’s true costs from the public. “That was really, really critical for the thing to pass,” said Gruber. “But I’d rather have this law than not.” In other words, the ends—imposing Obamacare upon the public—justified the means.

The overwhelming majority of Americans disagree with your claim that the 2020 election was stolen. You must therefore think Americans are stupid.
I agree with the God-fearing patriotic Americans who want the questionable ballots and voting machine results carefully examined by reliable experts to determine where they may have been deliberate fraud or not.

Roger Stone was hopeful that the congressional investigation that day would bring out the fact of voter fraud and that Americans would finally "have what they wanted." Alas, the democrat mobs made sure those hearings were interrupted and then conspired with leftist officials in DC to falsely frame Trump supporters for the violence.

Roger Stone was not advocating violence and neither were any of the other patriots around him.
