You never noticed how slick Jesus was when asked direct questions that were designed to get him in trouble with authorities? He often did not answer them directly. Surely you must have noticed this.

Well, let's take another look.

You just admitted that the Priests were trying to trap Jesus. And you also conceded that Jesus saw through their ploy.

When asked if they should pay taxes, he never answered directly. Why? If he thought it was right to pay taxes, why didn't he just say so?

Knowing it was a trap, he ambiguously, and craftily got out of the trap by saying: "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

Now we are left to decipher what exactly belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God. Do you think Jesus thought anything belonged to a person and not to God?

Did not Jesus think that God was owed EVERYTHING?

Do you think Jesus felt his money should go to perpetuate and fund an evil, vile, hedonistic, ruthless government?

I certainly don't. :nono:

But of course he couldn't say so......directly.
