Curriculums for kids, good or bad?

This mom thinks curriculums can actually get in the way of educating her kids. What do you think?

Would you homeschool your kids without workbooks? (aside from good reference materials, which I imagine we all want)

I used a mixture of packaged curriculum and a do-it-yourself curriculum. I don't think that there's any one curriculum that's perfect for all children. You have to look at how each child learns. My daughter started out learning really well from books and discussion. Later, it turned out that she did better with hands-on work.
