According to John 18:28 and John 19:13-14, Jesus was crucified on the day when the Jews were slaughtering Passover lambs and roasting them with fire ready to eat by sundown. In 2017, that day corresponds to Monday, April 10.

Never happened , you are taught that a spiritual event the crucifixion happened in secular time when that is only a shadow/symbolic of a inward death and Resurrection. Matt 11:11 shows Jesus represented the inward Christ born from above.

Had the Lord died on the cross just before sunset's commencement of Passover on Monday, April 10, 2017; then Tuesday night would have been his second in the heart of the earth of the three nights he predicted as per Matt 12:40. Just one more night to go.

Jesus was laid in the tomb as the Sabbath was beginning.

It was the day of preparation and the Sabbath was beginning. (Luke 23:54)

Jesus was laid in the tomb as the Sabbath was beginning. It was the day of preparation and the Sabbath was beginning. (Luke 23:54)

The seventh day of the Jews' civil week isn't the only day in their religion that's designated a sabbath. For example:

In regards to Yom Kippur, the Bible says: "It is a sabbath of complete rest for you. You shall humble yourselves. Beginning on the evening of the ninth of the month, you shall keep your sabbath from evening to evening." (Lev 23:32}

Two more special sabbaths like Yom Kippur's are Feast of Trumpets (Lev 23:23-25) and the beginning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread; which commences with the night of the Passover lamb. (Ex 12:16, Lev 23:5-8)

The primary reason why the Good Friday model doesn't work is because it fails to take into consideration Passover's sabbath.

A Catholic once suggested to me that the two sabbaths were together, i.e. they fell on the same date. So I countered that the suggestion would not work to Catholicism's advantage seeing as how the standard Good Friday model is short by one night. The only possible way to produce that third night is by allowing Passover's sabbath it's own date.

NOTE: John 19:14 and John 19:31 verify that Luke 23:54 is speaking of Passover's sabbath instead of the usual seventh-day sabbath.

FYI: Had Jesus been crucified in 2017, Passover's sabbath would've begun at sundown on Monday, April 10, and ended at sundown on Tuesday, April 11.

Jesus was laid in the tomb as the Sabbath was beginning.

Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. (Mark 16:1)

Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. (Luke 23:56)

Two Sabbaths passed while Jesus was dead.

According to John 18:28 and John 19:13-14, Jesus was crucified on the day when the Jews were slaughtering Passover lambs and roasting them with fire ready to eat by sundown. The date was Nissan 14 on the Jewish calendar; which, in 2017, corresponded to Monday, April 10 on the Gregorian calendar.

Had the Lord died on the cross in 2017 just before sunset's commencement of Passover, then Wednesday night would have been his third and final night in the heart of the earth of the three nights he predicted as per Matt 12:40.

Either John 18:28 and 19;13-14 contradict Matthew, Mark and Luke or what John says is misinterpreted.

According to Matthew, Mark and Luke, the Lord ate the Passover with His disciples at Israel's appointed time, which places Christ's crucifixion after the Passover meal.

According to Matt 26:17-20, Mark 14:12-17, and Luke 22:7-15, Christ ate his Passover prior to being taken before Pilate.

According to John 13:1-2, John 18:28-29, John 19:13-14, and John 19:31, the Jews ate their Passover after Jesus was dead and buried.

The Jews were somehow unaware that their religious calendar was tardy the year that Christ was crucified. He, being a prophet in direct contact with God, would of course know the precise moment that Passover that year was supposed to begin; which is no doubt at least one of the reasons why Christ ate his own Passover before the Jews ate theirs.

Ironically, the Jews were careful to avoid going after Jesus during Passover.

Matt 26:3-5 . .Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him. But not during the feast-- they said --or there may be a riot among the people.

Due to their religious calendar's error, the Jews inadvertently crucified Jesus during the very season they wanted to avoid. Apparently it was God's wishes that His son be put to death smack dab on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which the Jews wouldn't have done had their calendar been accurate.

Happens every day someone crucifies their old self and becomes a new creature in Christ that dwells within man, the historic deception is a wall of tradition you must tear down to progress on into the Kingdom of God, of the living Luke17:20-21, 1Cor 3:16, Acts 17:24.
