[11-Year-Old Boy Played in His Yard. CPS Took Him, Felony Charge for Parents: An interview with two parents who lost their kids... over nothing by Lenore Skenazy] "One afternoon this past April, a Florida mom and dad I'll call Cindy and Fred could not get home in time to let their 11-year-old son into the house. Only after the eldest spoke up and begged a judge to give him back to his parents did the situation improve..." Full text: 11-Year-Old Boy Played in His Yard. CPS Took Him, Felony Charge for Parents

From the article:

The judge relied on material published by the Australian Breastfeeding Association, which warns that HIV can be transmitted via breastmilk and that “getting tattoos increases the risk of infection”.

“Although the risk of infection from getting a tattoo is low, especially if done at a reputable parlour, it is a health risk which must be carefully assessed before a breastfeeding mother, or anyone for that matter, decides to get a tattoo”

I believe the more valid question is why the mother would consider even a low risk acceptable when it comes to the health and well being of her child.
