I do not know whether Stephen Hawking said this, or if it is merely attributed to him pseudepigraphically, but, in any case, it sure is a hilarious joke of a quote:

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge.

The author of this slogan, I take it, must've doffed his thinking cap at least long enough to author it, for, therein, he is telling us that the illusion of knowledge is NOT ignorance!

Major Premise: The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance;
Minor Premise: The illusion of knowledge is the greatest enemy of knowledge;
Ergo,
Conclusion: The illusion of knowledge is not ignorance.
