I find in this account a very heart-warming detail of God's character. Jesus told Peter he would never deny Him even though the Lord told him 3 separate times that he would. But Peter's sin did not diminish God's love for Peter, which is clearly demonstrated in the way Jesus unraveled the wrong to expose His love for Peter in spite of his sin and Peter's need to rely on Jesus, not on his own power, to be faithful.
