‘Washington Post’ Confirms Hillary Clinton Started the Birther Movement

Snopes doesn't need to convince me of what I already know is true.

You've got birthers accusing Hillary of spreading birther lies. It's amazing.

She did spread birther lies . The facts have been shown to you and it's indisputable.

Her staff.. mainly Sidney Blumenthal picked up on the internet talk and began pushing it through emails. This is documented.

Here's a google image search for "layers obama birth certificate."

What are the sources for the images? Little Green Footballs (before their changeover), WorldNutDaily, FreeRepublic, InfoWars, Stormfront, American Thinker, The Gateway Pundit, and on and on. They were mighty busy in those days.

Again....internet discussion boards.....not what Donald was talking about .

Who picked up on all that going on in discussion boards? Sidney Blumenthal and others of the Clinton campaign.

As far as snopes is concerned, they got it wrong too. It wasn't freerepublic that got it started, there is evidence the rumor was going around before then. This quote from a yahoo answers message board was posted in 2007.

If Obama bin HUSSEIN al Barack was born in Kenya, how can he run for president in the US?
Isn't that why Arnold whats-his-name can't run?

This can be found here:

That doesn't help your argument that Hillary is responsible for the birther movement.

It's what I'm talking about (and you too, since you just posted a link to a discussion board yourself).

Trump supporters who've been online since the Obama administration and before know exactly what I'm talking about. They were probably in on those same breathless conversations and amateur sleuthing missions to find the smoking layer of the COLB. And now they want to deflect to Hillary.

They might as well be wearing "I'm a birther" t-shirts while pointing at Hillary and saying "She's a birther!"

It may be what you want to talk about. I'm saying trump did not start the birther movement. You have shown nothing to prove otherwise. I've been discussing this with you in hopes of understanding what the issue is. The issue is who started it. If you want to talk about other things, I have not stopped you and do not wish to stop you.

Trump didn't start it....period

Hillary did in 2008.

I didn't say it did. I was refuting snopes. You quoted snopes and suggested it was evidence Hillary did not start birtherism politically. Snopes did nothing of the sort. It showed that discussion boards got the ball rolling. This was never disputed ... not by Donald or by any other conservative politician.

I never said Trump started it, so you're working with a false premise.

Case open.

During the 2008 Democratic contest, a senior strategist for Clinton at one point pondered, in an internal memo that was later leaked, the ways in which Obama’s personal background differed from many Americans. But contrary to Trump’s assertion, neither Clinton nor her campaign ever publicly questioned Obama’s citizenship or birthplace.
Clinton had long denounced the claim as a “racist lie.”

“Trump has spent years peddling a racist conspiracy aimed at undermining the first African-American president,” Clinton tweeted after Trump’s admission Friday. “He can’t just take it back.”

I will just add this point. Trump didn't lie in his latest speech that has caused all the uproar. He believes what he said and it seems he has facts to back it up.

P.S. he never claimed that the whole birther concept was hatched in the mind of Clinton. Snopes shows that wasn't true.

Obama was never a real American. The whole point of the requirement for needing to be a natural born citizen is lost when it becomes merely a technicality- Obama is more foreign than American, I've always seen it in his demeanor on any issue- just compare him to virtually any other president, even the bad ones.

I mean, come on now

We haven't really had a president in the past eight years- there has been no real leadership.
