Pertaining to preaching the Gospel !

Pertaining to preaching the Gospel !

Pertaining to preaching the Gospel as it relates to Salvation Good News, it was not to be for all without exception, and that has never been the case, in fact God designed the Gospel to be offensive to some people, but it was designed in the Eternal Purpose of God to be the Gospel and Good News to the poor. Jesus as He quoted the prophet Isaiah in Luke is very specific to whom He came to preach the Gospel to as it relates to Salvation Lk 4:18-22

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

Jesus quotes Isa 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Here the Preaching the Gospel is to the meek ! Ps 149:4

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Now lets see if we can answer this question honestly, as to who it is that Jesus was anointed to preach the Good News of the Gospel to ?

Pertaining to preaching the Gospel !

Now lets see if we can answer this question honestly, as to who it is that Jesus was anointed to preach the Good News of the Gospel to ?

If you answered the poor then you answered correctly. Now understand that Jesus is not speaking of the literal economically poor, but the poor in spirit as here Matt 5:3

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Now what does poor in spirit mean ? Its the greek word ptōchos:

reduced to beggary, begging, asking alms

2) destitute of wealth, influence, position, honour

a) lowly, afflicted, destitute of the Christian virtues and eternal riches

b) helpless, powerless to accomplish an end

c) poor, needy

3) lacking in anything

a) as respects their spirit

1) destitute of wealth of learning and intellectual culture which the schools afford (men of this class most readily give themselves up to Christ's teaching and proved them selves fitted to lay hold of the heavenly treasure)

It is those who by the power of the Holy Spirit have been made to sensibly feel themselves as this Rom 5:6

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

John Gill comments on this verse Matt 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit

Not the poor in purse, or who are so with respect to things temporal: for though God has chosen and called many, who are in such a condition of life, yet not all; the kingdom of heaven cannot be said to belong to them all, or only; but such as are poor in a spiritual sense. All mankind are spiritually poor; they have nothing to eat that is fit and proper; nor any clothes to wear, but rags; nor are they able to purchase either; they have no money to buy with; they are in debt, owe ten thousand talents, and have nothing to pay; and in such a condition, that they are not able to help themselves. The greater part of mankind are insensible of this their condition; but think themselves rich, and increased with goods: there are some who are sensible of it, who see their poverty and want, freely acknowledge it, bewail it, and mourn over it; are humbled for it, and are broken under a sense of it; entertain low and mean thoughts of themselves; seek after the true riches, both of grace and glory; and frankly acknowledge, that all they have, or hope to have, is owing to the free grace of God. Now these are the persons intended in this place; who are not only "poor", but are poor "in spirit"; in their own spirits, in their own sense, apprehension, and judgment: and may even be called "beggars", as the word may be rendered; for being sensible of their poverty, they place themselves at the door of mercy, and knock there; their language is, "God be merciful"; their posture is standing, watching, and waiting, at wisdom's gates, and at the posts of her door; they are importunate, will have no denial, yet receive the least favour with thankfulness. Now these are pronounced "blessed", for this reason,

Now what is the promise to the poor in spirit in Matt 5:3 ? Theirs is the Kingdom Heaven, and thats a Gospel Promise to the Poor.

Thats why the Gospel of the Kingdom is to be preached , when it comes to Salvation, specifically to the poor in Spirit, for they are born citizens into the Kingdom by New Birth.

Now does it now appear reasonable that since the poor who are the ones that have the kingdom of God promised them, that God would therefore direct the Gospel to the poor in spirit so that they may hear of the good news ?

That Jesus was anointed to preached the Gospel to the poor is seen here Lk 4:18

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

And He preached the Gospel of the Kingdom Mk 1: 14-15

14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Now who would Jesus be commanding to Repent upon His Preaching here ? Why its the ones that He came as the Anointed one to preach the Gospel to Lk 4:18 and what is promised to the poor in Matt 5:3 ?

Pertaining to preaching the Gospel !

Pertaining to preaching the Gospel !

Continuing with our previous observations or points, that the Gospel as it pertains to Salvation is preached to the poor as Jesus stated Lk 4:18

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

And we know also the the poor are heirs of the Kingdom Matt 5:3,m see James 2:5 also then, what this tells us, if we are spiritually in tune, is that the Gospel as far as Salvation is concerned is purposed to the Heirs of the Kingdom, remember Jesus words here to His Sheep Matt 25:34

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Also the writer of Hebrews alludes to the Heirs Heb 1:14

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

God knows who His Heirs are for they were Chosen in Christ before the foundation and are Joint Heirs with Him Rom 8:17

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. See Eph 1:4 !

And knowing them He directs His Gospel of the Kingdom to them in His all pervasive Providence so they can hear of the Good News of their Salvation !

Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Acts 28:28

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Rom 10:14-17

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Gospel is sent to the Heirs of Salvation Heb 1:14 and they will hear it Acts 28:28 !

God is ! He is a Witness to me Preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom ! Ezk 2:7

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

I like that verse. But if nobody reads it, it is like you are talking to no one, so there is no one to heed or not.

Thus saith the Lord;

"If only they had stood in my counsel, if only they had declared my words to my people they would have changed them from their wicked ways and their evil deeds."

"Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him, let all the upright of heart glorify Him."

"Judgement shall again be done with justice and all the upright of heart shall follow it."

That's the Lord who lives in me and I in Him. The Lord and I are One.

The one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
I'm the good shepherd.

Perversion of the Gospel !

Perversion of the Gospel !

As many may know I am one that firmly believes and knows that the Doctrines of Grace, or as some may call calvinism or Tulip are nothing short of the Gospel of God's Grace Acts 20:24,25

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

BTW The Gospel of the Grace of God and the Preaching of the Kingdom of God are the same exact thing as Well Vs 25

25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

Now one of those Grace or Kingdom Doctrines of the Gospel that men pervert is that of limited atonement or particular redemption, which is that Gospel Truth that informs as to whom Christ exclusively and definitely died for and saved ! That Truth is perverted by all those who teach that Christ Death was for all mankind without exception, that includes those who teach universalism also ! Christ Loved and Gave Himself for the Church, the called out ones Eph 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Yes, His Church is the World God so Loved Jn 3:16 !

Perversion of the Gospel ! 2

Perversion of the Gospel ! 2

Now another perversion of the Gospel is that of the denial of unconditional Election. The most popular perversion is that Election is dependent upon God knowing who will believe on Christ, however such a perversion contradicts the scriptures clear teaching here in Rom 9:11

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth )

This cancels any ideal that God's Purpose of Election is contingent upon God's knowledge of or foreseeing of anything man may do as good that is the reason why God included them in His Purpose of Election.

God here through His faithful Servant Paul teaches unconditional Election by Illustration of the not yet born brothers Jacob and Esau ! God makes it abundantly clear that His Purpose of Election was not based upon any good doings that Jacob done. Jacob did not believe anything to become one of the Elect, he did nothing ! Now this is also the case with all the election of Grace, for their Election was in Christ before the foundation of the world; God the Father then chose them for Himself who was in Christ;and this in the same way that He chose that Jacob would be in Rebecca, he being in her as an elect was not his choice, nor his decision, but strictly done by the purpose of God. Hence Election cannot be premised upon one's faith or believing in Christ, and for ungodly men to teach otherwise is a flat out denial of Salvation by Grace, for that is what Unconditional Election of Grace is, Salvation by Grace through Faith, not of works !

So in reality we deny Unconditional Election, we deny Salvation by Grace, which is a basic fundamental Gospel Doctrine. Once we charge God with being unjust for Electing some by Grace to Salvation and witholding that Electing Grace from others, we then make Grace to be a debt owed, which is contrary to Grace Rom 4:4

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

Election is of Grace Rom 11:5-6

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

The Gospel of God

The Gospel of God

The Gospel of God Rom 1:1

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

The Truth of Rom 5:19 of how one is made Righteous before God, is part of the Gospel of God, hence to deny,or twist that Truth of Rom 5:19 in any way is nothing short of perverting the Gospel of God. In this single verse within its overall context, informs us that those Christ died for, His obedience unto death, that by it they shall be made Righteous; Or this by His ONE Obedience, apart from theirs, and its not His and theirs combine, but by this Obedience of One ! Now if we add to that, we have a false gospel Gal 1:8-9 ! This Shall be made Righteous = Salvation !

Rom 1:16

Rom 1:16

Rom 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it [The Gospel] is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth [or is believing]; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Now why is the Gospel the Power of God to everyone who is believing ? Its because those who are believing are being caused to believe by God's Power by way of the Gospel. Ps 110:3

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power or Gospel, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Ezk 36:27

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The Gospel to them is God's God's Power,Strength, ability causing them to be Willing.

Believing the Gospel is the Evidence of God's Power at Work. The same thing also here 1 Cor 1:18

18 For the preaching of the cross[The Gospel] is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Believing and not Believing the Gospel !

Believing and not Believing the Gospel !

Why does one person hear the Gospel and Believe and another person hears that same Gospel at the same time d does not believe ? The reason is this, for it [the Gospel] comes to them while they are different states. The person who hears the Gospel,it was to them the Gospel of their Salvation, and so the Gospel came to them while they were in a saved state or the good ground hearer Matt 13:23 and so to them it was sent by God as the Gospel OF THEIR Salvation Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The word your here is an personal possessive[Genitive] pronoun hymōn or Heard the Salvation of you !

When the Gospel comes to one already in a saved state they believe.

Now about the other, who at the same time, hears the same Gospel, but believed it not, thats because when the Gospel came to that person they were in a lost state as Per 2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

That word lost apollymi is in a present tense which means:

The present tense usually denotes continuous kind of action. It shows 'action in progress' or 'a state of persistence.'

A Person who is in a lost state, the Gospel for the Purpose of God is being hid[concealed] from them that they believe not !

A Person who is saved by regeneration by Regeneration or New Birth as Titus 3:5

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

That Person has been given the Fruit of Faith alone with Spiritual Life, and such a one has spiritual hearing or ears, and so Faith cometh by hearing of the Word of God.

On contrary, the one who is remaining in a lost condition , the Gospel is being concealed and they cannot believe it, consent to it, obey it and hostility and rejection towards it manifests their inability to believe it, and to them in the Purpose of God, the Gospel is a Savor of Death unto Death 2 Cor 2:15-16.

You see,m a lost person has no Gospel of their Salvation sent to them because they are lost and not saved ! Why would God send a Message of Good News of Salvation to a person God knows is in a lost state ?

The Gospel begets Faith !

The Gospel begets Faith !

The Gospel begets Faith in those who have been begotten again by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Now to all such, the Gospel begets them as Paul states here 1 Cor 4:15

15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

The word begotten here is the greek word gennaō:

of men who fathered children

a) to be born

b) to be begotten

1) of women giving birth to children

2) metaph.

a) to engender, cause to arise, excite

b) in a Jewish sense, of one who brings others over to his way of life, to convert someone

c) of God making Christ his son

d) of God making men his sons through faith in Christ's work

The word also means to bring forth.

The same Idea is what James wrote James 1:18

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth [The Gospel Eph 1:13], that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

The word here for begat apokyeō:

to bring forth

a) from the womb

b) give birth to

2) produce

By the Word of Truth, which is the Gospel Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth[/B], the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Peter alludes to this also here 1 Pet 1:23-25

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

The Gospel is preached to those of Vs 23 who had been born again by incorruptible Seed.

God will send the Gospel of Salvation to those who have been born again or begotten again, and that Word of Salvation begets or brings forth Faith or believing ! This is what the Bible Teaches !

Paul Preached the Gospel to them by which they believed 1 Cor 3:5

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

The Gospel begets Faith ! cont

1 Cor 4:15

15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

This actually is teaching New Birth before and Unto Faith or Believing, and if we reject this, we default automatically into Salvation by our works or by something we have done !

For there is a Law or Principle of Life [ Rom 8:2] which is communicated at New Birth, which in turn is brought to Light in the Calling of the Gospel, much to what Paul states here 2 Tim 1:9-10

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Life and Immortality are substances of New Birth, indicating quickening out of Death unto Life Eph 2:5 and the Gospel when Preached to such, brings that Immortality and Life to Light or make evident !

Now in this sense the Gospel does save them that are believing 1 Cor 1:21

21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe or that are believing.

Since being saved and our believing are joined, saving here means conversion, the Gospel is bringing forth that Life and Immortality, and one is being saved from their former delusions and deceptions they believed s to how one is Justified before God, and now is being turned to acknowledge the Truth, which is classified as being saved 2 Tim 2:25

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

It is also saving the soul by the implanted word James 1:18-21

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Saving of the soul here does not mean being saved from the penalty of sin, but the soul being delivered from lies and deceptions and false views of Salvation !

Also we know James was here writing to the regenerate by the fact the word had been engrafted or implanted !

The word is not implanted in the unregenerate who has no life spiritually !

There can be no faith manifested without the previously implantation of the Word of God by New Birth when a seed is implanted, and so Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God Rom 10:17. That implanted word gives the ability to hear the Living Voice of the Son of God through the Preaching !

The Gospel of the Kingdom !

The Gospel of the Kingdom !

Matt 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

One of the primary reasons why the Gospel of God's Grace or the Gospel of Jesus Christ is also the Gospel of the Kingdom, it is because this Gospel belongs to the members of that Kingdom, that is God's Spiritual Kingdom.

Jesus says this Jn 3:3,5

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Also

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Now understand, the Gospel of Christ or of God's Grace is the Gospel of this Kingdom, a Kingdom spiritually we must be borned into before we can understand its Gospel !

The Gospel of this Kingdom has Mysteries that are only made known to Kingdom citizens ! Jesus said Matt 13:11

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

These Mysteries are Gospel Mysteries ! These Mysteries do include the Mystery of the Gospel Eph 6:19

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Which also includes the Mystery of the Church Eph 5:32

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Includes the Mystery of Christ Col 4:3

Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

The Mystery of the Gentiles and of Israel Rom 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

The Mystery of Godliness 1 Tim 3:16

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

All these are Mysteries of the Kingdom, that constitute the Gospel of the Kingdom ! Now did Christ's disciples know and understand all the Mysteries of the Kingdom initially ? No they did not, but they had been given some understanding Matt 13:23

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

And the promise to those who have been given understanding,to them this promise applies Matt 13:12

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

And so the Gospel of the Kingdom is so because it belongs to a Kingdom community, the Zion of God

Ps 102:21

To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

Ps 87:5

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

And one must be born into this Kingdom or society to Understand it !

1Cor 2:12

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

One must be born of the Spirit or given the Spirit to believe the Gospel of their Salvation.

Paul does inform us here that in order that we may know the things freely given us of God, such as the freely given things of Salvation, all Spiritual Blessings, we receive from God the Spirit of God [In New Birth] and these are things that God hath revealed to us by His Spirit.

Things like Free Justification by Grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus Rom 3:24

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

A Free Gift of Righteousness Rom 5:17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Which Righteousness is revealed by the Spirit as Per 1 Cor 2:10

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Through the Gospel Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Yes, the Free Gift of Righteousness of Rom 5:17 is that Righteousness of God which is revealed to us in the Gospel, being revealed to Spirit wrought Faith from the preached Faith, and this is how one comes to know by Faith the things freely given us of God,through Jesus Christ !

Before this Spirit given Faith [By New Birth] the Natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God [as Gospel Truths of Free Justification by Grace], such is nonesense to him, and he is not able to understand them, since they are only spiritually discerned 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

To discern is to know in the mind as the word know implies in 1 Cor 2:12

That word for know there eido means:

to perceive, notice, discern, discover

d) to see

1) i.e. to turn the eyes, the mind, the attention to anything

2) to pay attention, observe

And those who are not born again and have not the Spirit cannot do that, and on the other hand, one who is born of God isable to Judge all things 1Cor 2:15, which merely means, he has been given the Spiritual capacity to discern of spiritual Truth, much to the saying of John here 1 Jn 2:20,27

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

This pertains to the Truths of Gospel Doctrines, regarding the Person and Work of Jesus Christ and its accomplisments for His Church !

Now Two things are imperative to know and believe the Gospel; #1. We need to have received the Spirit of God via New Birth 1 Cor 2:12

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

When Jesus said this to His disciples Jn 20:22

And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

He meant not only them exclusively, but the entire Church, His whole Body that should believe on Him through their word ! So it is written also Jn 7:39

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified

When He was Glorified, He received of the Father the Holy Ghost to shed abroad His Body the Church Mystical. Acts 2:33

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted[and Glorified now], and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

The world for whom He did not die Jn 17:9 cannot receive this Spirit John 14:17

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Jesus here is speaking to the disciples as Representatives of His Church, His Body !

And so to believe and know the Gospel we must receive the Spirit ! And then next, to believe and know the Gospel it must be revealed to us by the Spirit that has been given through New Birth.

These things are no more than what Jesus said here Jn 3:3

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see[discern] the kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God, and its Gospel ! That word see here in Jn 3:3 is the same word know in 1 Cor 2:12 ! So Paul and Jesus agree !

Not having the Spirit by New Birth, and not having the Gospel Revealed to us by that Spirit of New Birth, their is no believing the Gospel !

We have a famine of the word in most of what we call church today. People with itching ears want to hear nice stories. There is no conviction, and people do what is right in their own eyes.
Amos.8[11] "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD,
"when I will send a famine on the land;
not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
but of hearing the words of the LORD.
[12] They shall wander from sea to sea,
and from north to east;
they shall run to and fro, to seek the word of the LORD,
but they shall not find it.

Rom 1 :16

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

I am going to get straight to the point, and that is, there is simply no gospel being preached without preaching the doctrine of election [election of grace], and the fact that the Gospel begins in God [Rom 1:1] as the Gospel of God, As it proceeds from the Eternal Counsels of God as its root and foundation, for this evident from pauls writings here 2 Tim 1:8-11................. snip
The doctrine of God's electing grace is for believers comfort, not a baseball bat to bash the young with :AoO:.......... iow, meat not milk.
