Paul did not pray for the Salvation of national Israel !

Paul did not pray for the Salvation of national Israel !

Rom 10:1-4

Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Remember Paul had just written Rom 9:6

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

So what Israel is He praying for in Rom 10:1 ? Now understand, when Paul prays "for Israel , that they might be saved" meaning his kinsmen according to the flesh Rom 9:3-5

3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Yet Paul is not speaking or praying for a national conversion, for he knows that is not God's purpose, for the promise for that nation is only a remnant shall be saved as Rom 9:27

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

That is only some of that nation shall be saved, a small remnant, and that's who Paul means in Rom 10:1 and Rom 9:3, he is speaking strictly of the remnant Rom 11:14

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

Notice them which are my flesh, the same as Rom 9:3, and here in Rom 11:14 he means to only save some of them, a remnant. There was a remnant within his flesh kinsmen according to the Election of Gace.

Notice also 1 Cor 9:19-22

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified

Isa 45:25

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Justified and being saved are the same, Vs 17 says

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Its no secret in scripture that Salvation / Justification or Everlasting Life has been promised to only one people by God, and that is Israel Isa 45:17

17 But Israel[Elect] shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Now who is " in the Lord here" here ? Its the Lord Jesus Christ and Everlasting Life/Salvation is in no other Acts 4:11-12

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved or Justified.

And Vs 11 here makes it clear that any Salvation from God that the jews expected must come through Jesus Christ, whom as a nation they rejected

You see the the priests, elders, and Scribes these were the heads of the nation ! Also cp Vs 11 with 1 Pet 2:6-8

6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Scripture states the Jesus was raised specifically as an Saviour to Israel, the Elect of God Acts 13:23

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

What Promise ? Isa 45:17 ! For Israel's Salvation can be in no other Name !

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified 2

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified 2

Now with these things in mind, The Salvation of Israel in Isa 45:17 was not a Promise to save all ethnic israel or the physical nation of israel made up of Abraham's natural seed as here Jn 8:37

37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

But from that seed God had promised that only a remnant shall be saved Rom 9:27

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

You see what was not clear before, but shrouded in Mystery, was that the Israel that God had promised to Save and Justify Isa 45:17,25, twas not a promise to that physical nation though a small remnant from it was included, but the Israel of promised Salvation was Abraham's Spiritual Children that did include Gentiles of the Nations. Remember how God had told him this Gen 17:5

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

This had to do with all his children brought to faith. Isa 45:25

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel[or Abraham] be justified, and shall glory.

Rom 3:30

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Gal 3:8

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

That fulfills God's Promise in Isa 45:25, because all the Justified ones by Faith are Abraham's Children God Promised him Rom 4:13,16

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Yes, the seed here comprised of both jew and Gentile is the Seed of Isa 45:25 !

Abraham's Children Gal 3:7

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.or Israel

So the Gentile Believers of that Seed Rom 4:16 and the jewish believers of that seed Rom 4:16 together make up that Israel that God Promised to Save in the Lord or that they shall be Justified in Him

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified 3

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified 3

So the Gentile Believers of that Seed Rom 4:16 and the jewish believers of that seed Rom 4:16 together make up that Israel that God Promised to Save in the Lord or that they shall be Justified in Him .

This is made clear as to what Paul wrote in Eph 2 when speaking of Gentile Believers Eph 2:11-12

11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Notice he writes of them that by nature they were strangers to the Covenant's of Promise [To Israel] like here Rom 9:4

4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Which included Covenant Promises of Salvation to Israel, as seen already Isa 45:17,25; now lets look at Lk 1:68-77

68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

But now by the Work of Christ, the Gentile Elect were fellowcitizens [with Israel of Promise] or the commonwealth of Israel and the household of God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the God of Israel Eph 2:19

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

What Saints ? Deut 33:3

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

Ps 16:3;30:4;31:23;34:9;37:28;Dan 7:18 !

Now understand this, If through Christ, the Seed of Abraham [Gal 3:16] are now fellowcitizens of the commonwealth of Israel and its Covenant Promises by the Gospel Eph 3:6

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Which Gospel Promise is Salvation in the Lord for Israel as Per Isa 45:17 through Christ, the Seed of Abraham, for Salvation for Israel cannot be in any other Acts 4:11-12, then we can rest assured, that by the grafting in of the Gentiles is how, as has always been God's way of Saving all Israel Rom 11:26

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

To look for any other Salvation for Israel is living a lie, a hoax, is to be deceived,a false hope !

The Olive Tree Romans 11:17,24

The Olive Tree Romans 11:17,24

Romans 11:17,24

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

The Good Olive Tree here in Rom 11 is Israel, however it is not national ethnic israel, even though during OT times it was comprised of mostly Abraham's physical descendants who were of national israel, however, when God began under the NT to graft Gentiles into the Olive Tree Israel [The Church], replacing the natural branches that had no root in the True Vine, and so broken off that that they should be grafted in , which did not mean that the Gentiles grafted in had to relocate into the physical land of israel. Thats because the Good Olive Tree Israel was not the literal physical nation, but a spiritual nation of believers in Christ who lived in that nation.

This observation alone should make it clear that the Israel of God, the Good Olive Tree, was not the physical nation of israel, and also makes it clear why Paul wrote Rom 9:6

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

All the physical descendants of Abraham who made up national israel did not belong to the Olive Tree Israel which was made up of the Faithful, those who had God given Faith in the Jesus Christ ! And yes, the Good Olive Tree was the Church of Christ , which later said He was to build upon it Matt 16:18

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Yes, He had His Church then when He spoke those words. The word build is the greek word oikodomeō and means:

to restore by building, to rebuild, repair

Remember Acts 15:16

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: Cp

Amos 9:11

11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

Thats what Jesus means by building His Church by the addition of the Gentiles Acts 15:14-17

14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

Acts 13:23 A Saviour unto Israel or His Body !2

Acts 13:23 A Saviour unto Israel or His Body !2

The Promised Salvation of Israel as Per Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

The shall means that its been predestinated by God ! But this promise is nothing more than the promised Salvation by the Seed of the Woman Gen 3:15

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The bruising of the serpents head by the Seed of the Woman brings about the Salvation Promised to Israel in Isa 45:17 Thats why Paul when Preaching stated that God when He raised up Jesus says Acts 13:23

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Folks Jesus is not the promised Saviour of nobody but Israel, God's Elect ! For Christ came to be the Saviour of one specific People notice Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people[Israel] from their sins.

This verse also speaks to the promise of Isa 45:17 !

And this is also His Body Eph 5:23

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Saviour of the body.

In other words,He is the same Saviour to the same group of people in Acts 13:23 and Eph 5:23, yes thats right, Israel of Acts 13:23 is the same as the Church, Christ's Body in Eph 5:23 !

And understand, the People He came to save specifically Matt 1:21 is that people He is the Saviour of the Body in, the Church in Eph 5:23. The deceived and unlearned do not accept this, however it is the Truth nonetheless !

The House of David !

The House of David !

Zech 12:10

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

I know its commonly believed in man's religion that the House of David here is speaking of the ethnic jews, but its really not, or should I say that its not limited to only ethnic jews, but that it also takes into consideration God's Elect among the Gentile Nations ! Now how is it we know this ? Because Elect Gentiles are referred to as the Tabernacle of David here in Acts 15:14-18

14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

Now some may object and say this refers to the Tabernacle of David and not the House of David, but thats just apples for oranges, because they are the same thing. The word tabernacle, the greek word is skēnē:

tent, tabernacle, (made of green boughs, or skins or other materials)

2) of that well known movable temple of God after the pattern of which the temple at Jerusalem was built

Now the English word tabernacle adds more light it means also:

any place or house of worship, especially one designed for a large congregation.

So in this sense it was the House of David were the Chosen of God would Worship God.

Now James is actually quoting an OT Prophecy applying it to the Gentiles Amos 9:11-12

11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this.

Whereas in the context its about the restoration of Israel Amos 9:7-9 ! Either way God is promising mercy upon the People on which His Name is Called, whether jews or Gentiles, and any gathering of people in His Name is His House or tabernacle !

So the Tabernacle or House being built again is a Spiritual Tabernacle or Building or Habitation of God that includes Gentile Elect Chosen in Christ Eph 1:4 and Eph 2:21-22

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Yes these refer to Acts 15:14-16 which refers back to Amos 9:11-12 which refers to the rebuilding of Israel ! God was pleased to take out of the Gentiles a People for His Own Name, the Lord God of Israel.

Eph 2:22 says we [jew and gentile believers] are builded together for an habitation or house of God through the Spirit. What Spirit ? The Spirit in Zech prophecy Zech 12:10

By Spirit of Grace is meant no doubt the Holy Spirit as well as it does in Heb 10:29

And lets remember this same Spirit that was poured out on the jewish remnant of elect in Acts 2 was later poured out on the Gentile Elect in Acts 10 and Peter testifies of it Acts 11 :15

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Peter represented the jewish remnant of the House of David and Cornelius and his house represented the Gentile Remnant of the House of David recipients of the same Spirit of Grace Zech 12:10 !

This also proves that Israel Elect and the Church combined of both Jew and Gentile Believers are the same Chosen People of God Israel !

His People who are they ? Rom 11:2

His People who are they ? Rom 11:2

Rom 11:2

2 God hath not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Know ye not what the Scripture saith of Elijah, how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

First let it be known that National Israel, in and of itself is not God's People, Abraham's physical descendants of that nation, according to the flesh, in and of themselves are not God's People. Who then are God's People, His Chosen People ?

First its all those who are the foreknown Rom 11:2

2 God hath not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Know ye not what the Scripture saith of Elijah, how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

And the foreknown of God are all those who have been predestinated to be conformed to the Image of His Son Rom 8:28-30

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

That goes for OT Believers as well as NT. What do you think the OT Patriarch mean by this ? Ps 17:15

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness

That word likeness is the word image. Now what image can this be ? Its the Image of God in Christ, the Son. David's hope was the same as that of Paul's as here in Rom 8:29

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

2 Cor 4:4

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

David will wake up in God's Likeness in the Resurrection Morning because He will be raised completely conformed to the Image of Christ !

But Secondly, this passage also reveals who God's People are in Rom 11:5

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Yes, those foreknown in Vs 2 and the Election of Grace here of Vs 5 are God's People.

The same for the Election in Vs 7 Rom 11:7

7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election [God's People foreknown] hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Sorry, but God does not blind His People !

Vs 4 tells us who God's People are Rom 11:4

4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Those God reserves unto Himself, those are His People.

Folks only a remnant in National Israel were God's People, and so it is in the world in general, the gentile world, only a remnant is God's People Acts 15:14

14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

You see that ? To take out of them a People, not all of them , but just a remnant.

So thats whom God's People are. If we believe the ethnic jews are God's People, we are greatly deceived. Yes some of them are, as well as some Gentiles are, and thats it !

They are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

They are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Rom 9:6

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

That Covenant Elect Israel that God Promised this unto Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

That Israel is not and has never been National Israel according to the flesh, Abraham's physical seed or descendants and this is Paul's point here in Rom 9:6-8, for only one of the Israel's mentioned in Vs 6 is National Israel and the Other is Covenant Israel the Elect, the Chosen !

The Covenant Israel Elect is also the True Olive Tree of Rom 11:17

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

This Grafting here into the Good Olive Tree is the Mystery of Israel of which Paul also means in Eph 2:12-15

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

The Israel of Vs 12 here is Elect Covenant Israel, not National Israel, again Rom 9:6 makes that clear ! You see the Covenants of Promise were made by God to Covenant Elect Israel, not the physical descendants of Abraham who had no Faith. God's Promises are only made to Faith, not to the flesh !

Now it was this True Olive Tree Israel, or Elect Israel, which a great many [national israel] were broken off from, and in turn a great many of Gentiles were grafted into it. Now by this fact alone, that of Gentiles grafted into [made one with] Covenant Elect Israel, the Good Olive Tree, it should enlighten us that the Good Olive Tree, Elect Israel, is not the Physical nation of israel, and that the grafted in Gentiles are now fellowcitizens and One with those of the Good Olive Tree Elect Israel [ The commonwealth of Israel Eph 2:12] and also it cannot be the physical nation israel because the Gentiles , now Grafted into Covenant Israel, the Olive Tree, are scattered all over the world, and not literally, and physically grafted into a physical nation ! Its a Spiritual Nation made up of People with Holy Spirit given Faith in Jesus Christ the Messiah !

Elect Israel and Elect Church the same !

Elect Israel and Elect Church the same !

We know the Church of the NT and the Elect remnant Israel, the Olive Tree in the OT are the same body by this, Paul calls the OT remnant of saints a Body and now says that the NT Saints are of that one Body Eph 2:16

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Eph 3:6

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body [Of Elect Israel or Olive Tree, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

The word body means:

is used of a (large or small) number of men closely united into one society, or family as it were; a social, ethical, mystical body

To be more specific to contest of Eph 2, that One Body the Gentiles became One and the same with is seen in Vs 12

Eph 2:12

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

commonwealth means :

a fellow citizen, fellow countryman

the administration of civil affairs

2) a state or commonwealth

3) citizenship, the rights of a citizen

The Commonwealth of Israel, and in Vs 19 that Body was also the Saints or Household of God Eph 2:19

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

In the OT that was the Elect Remnant, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Moses....

They under the OT were Identified with National Israel; also look at Vs 14-15, the middle wall of partition and the OT laws of commandments and sacrifices and ordinances, all of which pertained to the OT People of Israel. Now remember calls them a Body in Vs 16 Eph 2:16

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Now look at 1 Cor 12:12-13

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

This is the same Body of which the OT Saints were part of, The Good Olive Tree, but now being comprised of both jew and Gentile Believers, the Body of Christ. Yes the OT Saints, Patriarchs were believers in Jesus Christ and members of His Body too, for He is the Root of the Good Olive Tree Rom 11:16-18

16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

Christ is the Root and Offspring of the House hold of the Saints Rev 22:16

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

But Now under the New Covenant, Gentile Believers spring from the Root, which is Christ !

Elect Israel and Elect Church the same !2

Elect Israel and Elect Church the same !2

This Body which was the Commonwealth of Israel in the OT is now called a New Man as Per Eph 2:15

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

That is, the House of Israel will no longer consist of just jews, but in addition it will now include Gentiles, which is something new, because under the OC that was unheard of. The mistake is that we do not accept that the Household of the Saints or of God in the OT was the Body of Christ, but it was, but now under the New Covenant that Christ's Body takes on a different manifestation, composed of both jews and gentiles, which was not the case previously, then it was comprised of practically all of Abraham's Physical descendants who had been born again in national israel, but nevertheless Covenant Israel is the Body of Christ under Moses Heb 11:26

26 [Moses]Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Now under the Apostles as Eph 2:12 points out with Eph 2:18-20

The Gentiles who are believers by the Blood of Christ, are now first class citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel, so that makes them Israel. Remember how Paul was a Roman Citizen even though he was born a jew Acts 22:25-28, he was born with that roman citizenship, and every gentile believer has been born into Zion, a Citizen of Zion Ps 87:5

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

Yes, by New Birth they are Born a Citizen of Zion, the Commnwealth of Israel, the Good Olive Tree. Paul being born an ethnic jew could not change the fact that he also was born a Roman Citizen, a Gentile by nature, who is a born again believer, being a gentile by nature does not change him or her from being a True Citizen of Israel" Commonwealth !

When we say that National Israel has been cast away and rejected by God, we do not mean by that, that there can never be any ethnic jews that God will save, save by Grace, for there are many that have been saved since the Cross, however, as a Nation of ethnic jews, as God's People, they have been forever cut off, no more shall it be Identified with Covenant, Elect Israel, the Good Olive Tree Rom 11:24

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

They had this Identification solely because of their physical relationship to the True Israel of God, within the Nation. All ethnic jews as well as the Gentiles whom God gives Faith in the Messiah are saved and grafted into the True Covenant Israel.

Now also, no ethnic jew can claim any spiritual relationship with God based upon ethnicity, like what Jesus meant here Jn 8:39; Matt 3:9, whereas before they could claim a relationship with God.

But when an ethnic jew is given faith in the Messiah by the Grace of God, then what Paul means here happens Rom 11:23

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

But how is it that an ethnic jew will not continue in unbelief ? Look at vs 32

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Only by God having Mercy on them, and that is the only way a Gentile will not continue in unbelief.

God does not have Mercy on a ethnic jew because he is a ethnic jew, that would be showing respect of persons and racism, neither does He have Mercy on a Gentile because he is a Gentile or non jew, for that is respect of persons and racism, the reason however is because one had been chosen by Him before the foundation, to be the Election of Grace and Vessels of Mercy Rom 9:23-24

And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Rom 11:29

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Why did I bring this up ? Because the calling of the Gentiles was something Eternally Purposed by God before the World Began, and was very much part of His Eternal Purpose for creating the World, Yes, the calling and the Salvation of the Gentiles, that purpose was couched in God's first promise to our Father Abraham Gen 12:1-3

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

That God purposed to call the Gentiles is seen by the fact that He did indeed call them Rom 9:23-24

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Also James mentions it on this wise Acts 15:14-18

14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

From the beginning of the World, before Adam even, was this work of Calling the Gentiles foreknown of God !

Eph 3:3-11

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

So it was God being True and Faithful to His own Eternal Purpose in Christ, that the Nation of Israel, as representing His Covenant Israel, the Elect, had to be rejected for unbelief, simply because that is how God purposed to bring about the Calling of the Gentiles, which is Paul's point here Rom 11:11

11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Remember Paul's words here Acts 28:28

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

And there is only one Salvation of God Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

That was God's Eternal Purpose all the while; In fact that is why National Israel had any relevance being formed into a Nation, so that The Saviour of the World would come through it.

All of this, as Paul is explaining in Rom 11, is how God fulfills the Purpose and Promise of How all Israel shall be saved with an Everlasting Salvation in the Lord Rom 11:26

All Israel will be saved at the fulness of all gentile Salvation !

Thats the Gifts and Calling of God is without Repentance !

Blindness in part is happened to Israel !

Blindness in part is happened to Israel !

Rom 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

What does Paul mean by this statement ? It means not the entire physical seed of Abraham of that nation has been blinded in Judgment, and that God still retained in her a Remnant according to the Election of Grace as stated here Rom 11:5

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant[of Abraham's Physical Descendants] according to the election of grace.

These physical jews of that rejected nation will be given Faith in the Messiah as Paul was . Now understand something, those of the remnant of grace are also by nature in blindness, but not under judgment unto blindness, Remember Jesus said this Jn 9:39

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see[The Election of Grace]; and that they which see might be made blind[The rest].

Also that does not mean that those who say they see were not already spiritually blind, since they were as everyone else born blind, but Christ means that they will be confirmed in their blindness permanently, but of course they think they see ! God permanently gives them up to blindness like he does here Rom 1:24,26,28

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

God gives up the non elect religionists to their false religion and beliefs, of which they are reprobate ! 2 Tim 3:8; Titus 1:16

So none of the ethnic jews that were of the rest that were blinded as Per Rom 11:7, none of them will become believers, because they are not of the election of Grace, neither will all the nation as a whole shall ever become believers.

You see in God's promise to save Israel Isa 45:17, it never meant that He would save the entire nation of Abraham's physical descendants, but it would be only a remnant from them Rom 9:27

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

And the rest of those who constitute the Israel that God Promised to save in Isa 45:17, comes out from among the Gentiles, which is the Mystery !

The Holy Nation is the Church !

The Holy Nation is the Church !

1 Pet 2:9 and Ex 19:6

Who is this Holy Nation ? Why its the Church, the Bride of Christ, or the Body of Christ, and not National Israel. Yes, it is Israel, but not National Israel See Rom 9:6. This is the Church though Israel for several reasons. The first is, God only views one Nation as Holy, and that is Israel Ex 19:5-6

5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Vs 6 Tells us exactly who these words were spoken to. Peter by Divine Inspiration applies these words to the New Covenant Church as that Nation, now composed of not only jews but also Gentiles 1 Pet 2:9

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

We know this Holy Nation Peter identifies here is the Church or Body of Christ because #1. Its that Peculiar People, the same that was redeemed by Christ giving Himself for them Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We shall also notice that both of these peculiar people are objects of Christ's Redemption, with those in 1 Pet 2:9 see 1 Pet 1:18-19

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

And Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The same greek word for redeem in both places, the word lytroō

Now who would doubt that the Letter of Paul to Titus was not to the Church, the Body of Christ, Under the New Covenant, where to also Paul instructed Titus on the choosing of Elders Titus 1:5-9

5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

God Promised Israel Pastors in the OT Jer 3:15

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

That was fulfilled with the New Covenant Church, to feed the Flock Acts 20:28 and 1 Pet 5:2

God gave them as Promised in Jer 3:15 Cp Eph 4:11

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Which do feed the Church with Understanding !

We know this Holy Nation of Israel in 1 Pet 2:9 is also the Church, the Body of Christ, because its Members or Citizens were begotten again by the Resurrection of their Head from the dead 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The ESV 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

These compose the Holy Nation Israel 1 Pet 2:9, and Christ rose from the dead as the Head of the Church Col 1:18

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

So the Body, the Church is also that Holy Nation 1 Pet 2:9 which is Israel Ex 19:5-6 !

There is no way around it ! God fulfilled His Promises to Israel in Ex 19:5-6, in the Covenant Keeping Obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Obedience unto the Cross Phil 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

The God of Israel was the shield and protector of Abraham, who referred to himself as "the exceeding great reward," who was promised unto Abram to come through Isaac.

Genesis 15:1
quote:
After these things The WORD of the LORD came unto Abraham in a vision saying: "Fear not, Abram: I AM thy shield and The exceeding great reward."

Interpreted:
The WORD of the LORD God is "the shield / protector" of Abraham.
The WORD of the LORD God is "the exceeding great reward / the promised ONE."

John 1:1
In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God.

Interpretation:
The WORD, who was with and was God ... was the WORD who came to Abraham in a vision. If the WORD came to Abram in a vision and spoke, this means that Abram saw him and heard him.

Is it any wonder that Jesus, being the WORD of God manifested in flesh, said this about himself to the religious experts?
John 8:54,55,58
Jesus answered, "If I honor myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father (aka - the super-natural LORD God) that honoreth me: of whom you say, that he is your God:
Yet you (specifically) have not known him (the LORD God): but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like you: but I know him, and keep his sayings.
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it, and was glad.

Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

So, the question is who is the Father (The LORD God) and who is the Savior our Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 43:11 God speaks about himself.
I (the ONE God), even I, am the LORD (who appeared unto Abraham Isaac, Jacob, and Moses): and beside me (as LORD and God) there is no savior.

The begotten Son of God / son of man was the LORD God ultimately manifested in flesh as his own Son.

John 1:18 When the WORD of God was manifested as the image of the LORD in flesh, it was the first time ever that anyone had seen God in flesh.
quote:
No man at any time hath seen God, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the (Super-natural LORD) Father, he (John the Baptist) hath declared him (unto mankind).

The super-natural LORD God of the OT, who had a covenant with Israel, was the Lord Jesus manifested in natural flesh. Is it any wonder that our Lord Jesus said these things about he and the Father.

When you have SEEN ME, you have SEEN THE FATHER. The Father and I are one. Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?" He that has seen me has seen the Father; and (or so) how sayest thou then, "Show us the Father?" Believest you not that I am in the Father, AND the Father is in me?"

Did you understand my points in Post 296 ?
Hi beloved57. Yes, I understand your post 296 above.

I think it is more about "who is the Church," than about who is the God of Israel. My post was about "Who is the God of Israel."

Just like the US of American is not just made up of "Americans," but rather a mixture of citizens and many various immigrants... so probably was Israel at the time of Christ and even today. Also not even all citizens in the USA worship the LORD... and probably this was true at the time of Jesus. We know that Israel went through a split of north and south and that over time after being taken captive they became even more infiltrated.

BUT, There was the "promised one" that was to come through Abraham and Isaac - not Abraham and Ishmael. This covenant of "the promised one" was passed on to Jacob, who became known by a new name as Israel and whose descendents became the nation of Israel.

The Lord Jesus did come as promised through descendents of Israel first ... and then to the Gentiles.

Today the church is made of Jews and Gentiles who honor the will of God by choosing the Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. In my post above I explain who the Father and the promised Son of Israel is. This is what I thought the thread was about.
