Are you Going to Heaven?

Define salvation for me.
To be clear, let me define what I believe the word "Salvation" means as used in 1 Peter 1:9. I believe it is deliverance from the condemnation of hell reserved for sinners who refuse to believe and receive the Word of God as the Word of God.

Being saved from hell, is included in salvation, but that is not what salvation is.

Let's try another application of the word "salvation."

Exodus 14:13 - "And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord..." In that verse, I believe salvation refers to the deliverance God provided the Jews from the murderous Egyptians following them.

Physically saved from death. Ask yourself, why did God save them from the Egyptians?

God likely had many reasons for delivering the Jews from the Egyptians, none of which were wrong.
I think you would agree that God preserved Israel for one reason, if you stop and think about it.

From Genesis through Revelation, what is the promise?

I cannot think of a more important subject for you to understand, as a believer, than this one.

Everything God preserved in writing about the successes and failures of the nation of Israel and His curses and blessings on them are written for our benefit as NT believers, according to 1 Corinthians 10:11.

That's not why. God preserved Israel, because it was through them that the Seed would come.

So, what is the "promise" that that men receive because of the Promised One?

This is not difficult, and it's everywhere in God's word, what salvation is, but most either don't see it, or won't see it.

The question is inadequate.

Here's a better one:
If there were no Heaven and no Hell, would you still be a Christian?

If no reward for your good deeds was dangled out there at the end of life, if no threat of punishment was blasted in your eyes, IF THE ONLY REWARD OR PUNISHMENT IS A FULFILLING LIFE OR A LACK OF ONE, would you still follow Christ?
If there is no God then we are not here. There is no other explanation for our existence apart from the creative power and act of God.

How could Jesus have got over death with death? Besides, once dead, Logic dictates that one has lost all chances to get over anything.
Questioning how God could do something He did is like wondering if the sun is going to rise tomorrow or not.

In a Commune there is no excellence, only the dull mediocrity of conformity to the lowest common denominator. That would be boring.
It makes me wonder why democrats want to turn America into a fascist democrat socialist commune.

Are we going to heaven?

I have a serious question. Where does the Bible say that anyone goes to heaven when they die? I can see where the Bible says that the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, but I can't see where the Bible says that the reward for a Christian is to be a disembodied spirit in the sky.
Jesus promised to go and prepare a place for us and then to come again to take us there. What difference do the details make?

I don't care about Heaven. Like Jesus, I believe it's in good shape. It can take care of itself. When I die, it will be either the most profound experience I will ever have, or it will be absolutely nothing.

Salvation is something that is transformative in THIS life--"on Earth as it is in Heaven."

And Jesus himself offered salvation to others before he even turned his face to Jerusalem.

The real problems are on this earth, now. The marginalized, the destitute, the powers and principalities and the captives.
Believing Jesus was wrong about hell is extremely stupid.

Did they see Jesus returning from the dead? No, really there is no eyewitness to it. You are too gullible to believe something like that and from believers and unbelievers. God have mercy on you!
Jesus was seen by upwards of 500 witnesses on earth after His resurrection. That is a fact, unlike imaginative delusions.

it's interesting that the faith alone folks do not want to discuss the actual Scriputre readings that CLEARLY refute osas (example: one in OP).

But then, I guess if you consider that people believe what they want... not so interesting after all

:juggle:
Who can doubt that God chose the elect in Christ from the foundation of the world, whether men think they can come into the fold and exit the fold at will?

Again, "sin" is lawlessness, and in view of the Law, YOU are "living in sin". Therefore, you condemn yourself.

"Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."

Oh, look at that, I used the Bible again, to prove that you're an idiot.
Not all sins bear an immediate judgment from God, as seen in John 15:22.

"If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin."

Jesus died for our sins, you do know that, right? This was before the cross. Again, Jesus taught the Law to those under the Law, so that they would know that they are failing the Law, and would turn to Him for salvation.

Stop conflating the two. You are adding old wine to new wineskins.

If Jesus died for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2) and all sins but one shall be forgiven sinners (Mark 3) then what sin is great enough to send unforgiven sinners to hell?
