It isn't being reported my the MSM because it doesn't fit the preferred politically advantageous narrative. We live in the days of "Black Lives Matter," not "All Lives Matter" (and certainly not "White Lives Matter"). If a 25 year old White guy walked up to a Black kid and shot him in the head, it would be headline news throughout much of the Western world. But because a Black guy shot a White kid in the head, the current zeitgeist doesn't allow for much reporting on that. Sweep it under the rug, because we can't use it to advance our political agenda!

The right is going full-bore at this very moment advancing this poor little boy's murder for their own political agenda. As a mother to boys myself, I spent years watching them ride their bikes with big smiles on their faces, and I cannot imagine the agony of the father who prayed for God to save his son as he lay dying. It's horrifying to me as it is to any parent and anyone with a heart. I will not politicize that little boy's death by arguing over it, not in this thread and not in any other thread made to politicize his death. So this is my one post to you on the subject.

When I did my own search, not surprisingly Stormfront popped up (I thought they were defunct but I guess not) and a white supremacy blog I won't drive traffic to with a mention, along with all the other usual right wing blogs, forums, and websites which foster clicks and views by putting race fear in the hearts of white conservatives.

It seemed to me a crime such as this would make local news first and then move to national. So I popped in CBS and found a local CBS website with the news two days before the breathless "where's the MSM article" and a day before FoxNews picked it up. I didn't spend more time than that but it was enough to deflate the "no MSM" meme for me.

Here's the thing though, and where I disagree somewhat with your post. From my vantage point (not presuming to speak for Black voices) BLM is predominantly focused on injustices and deaths related to police-involved arrests and murders. As horrifying as this murder is, and how important it is for justice to be served, I don't see how it benefits anything to set one against the other.

Another thought: The term "MSM" is obsolete and has been for some time. How many years now has FoxNews been "the most watched news network?" How can they not be "MSM" now themselves? And do any search on the web, where most people except elders get their news, and the pages are filled with right-wing sources. There's absolutely no lack of access to right-wing thought, news, and commentary. For the elders, right-wing talk radio is alive and well, and they've got their cable news Fox right at their remote control.

Having said that: All news is for profit, and will report on any story that will bring clicks and views. It has always been so, back when "above the fold" was the usual way of getting the headline out there. There are sources more truthful than others, but even ones I see as more trustworthy fail too often by seeking "balance" or "both sides" over truth. I've seen this so often wrt Trump, journalists tried too hard to normalize what wasn't normal and they did all of us a disservice. Everyone has a bias, whether implicit or explicit, and even as I sort through multiple sources trying to find individual journalists I can trust, it leaves me wondering if all I've done is found ones who confirm my own biases.

Judging from the panicked reactions here, she must be a good choice.

She is.

Just a few months to go.

Although hopefully Trump's million-dollar-donor appointee to head the Post Office won't succeed in dismantling service so severely that thousands if not millions of mail-in votes don't get counted.

‘A conspiracy’: Alarms sound after postal worker reports removal of sorting machines
The head of the Iowa Postal Workers Union alleged Tuesday that mail sorting machines are “being removed” from Post Offices in her state due to new policies imposed by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a major GOP donor to President Donald Trump whose operational changes have resulted in dramatic mail slowdowns across the nation.

Asked by NPR‘s Noel King whether she has felt the impact of DeJoy’s changes, Iowa Postal Workers Union President Kimberly Karol—a 30-year Postal Service veteran—answered in the affirmative, saying “mail is beginning to pile up in our offices, and we’re seeing equipment being removed.”

“I don’t see this as cost-saving measures. I see this as a way to undermine the public confidence in the mail service.”
—Kimberly Karol, Iowa Postal Workers Union

Karol went on to specify that “equipment that we use to process mail for delivery”—including sorting machines—is being removed from Postal Service facilities in Iowa as DeJoy rushes ahead with policies that, according to critics, are sabotaging the Postal Service’s day-to-day operations less than 90 days before an election that could hinge on mail-in ballots.

Yep, it’s a well known fact by trump and his GOP grovelers that he (and they) KNOW he has zilch chance of winning a fair election. Like his idol, Putin, he is planning to steal the election.

He says stuff like "when somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total" and his base doesn't blink an eye because at their core, they're all authoritarians just pretending to be Constitutionalists. Whatever he has to do to win, they're all in.

Trump says he’s blocking Postal Service funding because Democrats want to expand mail-in voting during pandemic
President Trump said Thursday that he does not want to fund the U.S. Postal Service because Democrats are seeking to expand mail-in voting during the coronavirus pandemic, making explicit the reason he has declined to approve $25 billion in emergency funding for the cash-strapped agency.

“Now, they need that money in order to make the post office work, so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo. He added: “Now, if we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting, they just can’t have it.”

It's been interesting. The republicans can't seem to get together to figure out what they hate about her.

Here's what they are going to hate about her:
HARRIS: When other countries are following the science, Trump pushed miracle cures he saw on Fox News. While other countries were flattening the curve, he said the virus would just poof, go away, quote, like a miracle. So when other countries opened back up for business, what did we do? We had to shut down again. This virus has impacted almost every country, but there's a reason it has hit America worse than any other advanced nation. It's because of Trump's failure to take it seriously from the start, his refusal to get testing up and running, his flip flopping on social distancing and wearing masks, his delusional belief that he knows better than the experts.

All of that is the reason. And the reason that an American dies of COVID-19 every 80 seconds. It's why countless businesses have had to shut their doors for good. It's why there is complete chaos over when and how to reopen our schools. Mothers and fathers are confused and uncertain and angry about childcare and the safety of their kids at school. Whether they will be in danger if they go, or fall behind if they don't. Trump is also the reason millions of Americans are now unemployed. He inherited the longest economic expansion in history from Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And then, like everything else he inherited, he ran it straight into the ground.

That's gotta hurt.
