  • There is only one gospel and Jesus taught it, and all his disciples after him taught it.
Oh how I love the Word of God!

Do not just read the word do it.

    • Jesus talking about calling on him:

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Matthew 15:25 Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Peter talking about calling on Jesus:

Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Even the enemies knew it is the Way to CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD:

Acts 9:14 And now he is here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”

Paul was saved by being told to call on the name of the Lord:

Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name

After Paul was saved by calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 9:21 Paul began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?

That is what Paul kept preaching, the same call on the Lord one and only gospel that saves:

Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

2 Timothy 2:19Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Yeah but a dead man spiritually cant call upon the name of the Lord. However those who are quickened can and do Ps 80:18

So will not we go back from thee:
quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
"... I have my own private opinion that there is no such a thing as
preaching Christ and him crucified, unless you preach what now-a-days is
called Calvinism. I have my own ideas, and those I always state boldly. It is
a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else."

        Charles Spurgeon !

The scripture you thought was helping you is the scripture that proves you wrong.

The scripture says 'then we won't turn away from you'; that shows they were turned to Him first before all that.

There are other things you didn't consider, such as quicken can mean save as in save my life from death, and that is what that Psalm is about.

Here is more proof to what I said:

          Psalm 116
          King James Bible
          He Listens to My Voice
1I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11I said in my haste, All men are liars.
12What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
13I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
14I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
15Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
16O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
18I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,
19In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

David talks about God hearing his voice and then quickening him.
