  • PETER AND PAUL AND THE NAME

Peter and Paul preached different messages on the name of Jesus:

Peter and the twelve preached whosoever believed in the name of Jesus was saved (John 1:12 John 3:16-18 John 20:31 Acts 10:43). There was no mention of reconciliation by the cross (Colossians 1:20), and in fact the understanding of the death and resurrection was hid from the twelve (Luke 18:34).

Paul preached salvation in the name of Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:2 1 Corinthians 6:11 Ephesians 5:20) and by the cross (1 Corinthians 1:18 Colossians 1:20 Galatians 6:14 Ephesians 2:16).

And of all the IRONIES...Paul was teaching this:

"That the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

which led to the false witness of:

"Now as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you MAD!”
    Acts 26:23-24

Happily it was NOT true as Paul was not going MAD as the Light which was proclaimed was the SAME to the Jewish people as to the Gentiles.

But still...ya gotta see the irony...LOL

Peter and the twelve preached whosoever believed in the name of Jesus was saved (John 1:12 John 3:16-18 John 20:31 Acts 10:43). There was no mention of reconciliation by the cross (Colossians 1:20),
Peter’s FIRST sermon at Pentecost ALREADY included the cross the resurrection and remission of sins THROUGH the One resurrected to ALL who are afar off even...Acts 2:36-41

Notice it is House of Israel and NOT blood of Israel...you know with a Cornerstone? Paul builds on it (pun intended) with his “in Whom the whole building being joined together grows into a holy temple...” Eph 2:21 what was joined? believing Jews and believing goyim...see? Peter KNEW and PREACHED THAT...and 3000 were joined into the house at Pentecost

Now go read Peter’s SECOND sermon after the lame man was healed.

Read Peter’s conclusion “You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which Yah made with our fahters saying to Abraham And in your seed ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH shall be blessed. To you first Yah having raised up His Servant Yahushua sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities” Acts 3:25-26

You claim they did not preach reconciliation by the cross? They were ARRESTED for preaching it Acts 4:1-3

And then read prisoner Peter’s response the next day 4:10-12

When is the first or last time ANY of you MAD every preached to a Jew “no salvation by any other name”?

AGAIN Peter’s gang is imprisoned and AGAIN prison Pete thunders back “We ought to obey Yah rather than man...raised up Yahushua whom you murdered and exalted Him and we are witnesses...so also is the Holy Spirit whom Yah has given to those who obey Him” Acts 5:29-32

What is the condition there? TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM...

is “your” BOC NOT included? The believing goyim excluded and not dispensed to...”not for me” the rights to the Promise contained in His Law?...ridiculous and pathetic...such indolent insolence

of course they are...available to ANY who obey Yah and not man...

Rather than preach...”oh no no no...all that was changed at the cross...just believe and faith and grace...not even the goyim have to do this” they were BEATEN for it...

And probably BECAUSE it was to ALL...again Paul speaks to the enmity the Jews had toward goyim...enmity He abolished in His flesh Eph 2:15 you know...JOINING “kingdom with BOC” into one new man...

Even poor Stephen accused the Jews their uncircumcised hearts their killing of prophets who foretold the Just One who he claimed he saw standing in glory...Paul witnessed this stoning...

Peter also preaches of the cross His death and His resurrection to Cornelius the believing and OBEDIENT goyim Acts 10:39-41 as “WHOEVER believes in Him will receive remission of sins” Acts 10:43

You know because as Peter said “in EVERY NATION WHOEVER fears Him and WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS is accepted by Him” Acts 10:35

It was Peter at the council who reminded ALL there is NO DISTINCTION between believing Jew and believing gentile Acts 15:9...as if the obedeint to His Way House of Israel would NOT be distinct from your “all that ‘Jewish’ stuff is NOT FOR ME” BOC LOL...even a blind pagan could make that distinction...

How does Luke CONCLUDE Peter’s contribution to the book of Acts?

“But we believe that through the grace of Yahushua we shall be saved IN THE SAME MANNER AS THEY” Acts 15:11

Jews saved in the SAME MANNER as goyim...imagine that!! And you DARE separate His Kingdom?

“What Yah has joined together let no MAD separate” Mark 10:9 lol

and in fact the understanding of the death and resurrection was hid from the twelve (Luke 18:34).
you now attempt to use this to bolster a false division? LOL

Of course the disciples were NOT expecting their Messiah to be killed but to save them from Rome...

They too wished TEMPORAL POWER as yours does with claims to rule from Jerusalem for 1000 years...they were wrong...please note

Paul preached salvation in the name of Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:2 1 Corinthians 6:11 Ephesians 5:20) and by the cross (1 Corinthians 1:18 Colossians 1:20 Galatians 6:14 Ephesians 2:16).

Jesus preached it and so did Peter.

We have to go through Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and not through animal sacrifices.

Peter preached people had to go through Jesus.

          Peter

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24.

Peter preached Jesus dying for our sins.

1 Peter 1:19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Paul even says Peter preached it to the Jews.

Galatians 2:7 On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.

Paul and Peter call it the gospel of God.

1 Peter 4:17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Romans 15:16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

He was saying all the Gentiles would be blessed through Israel in the kingdom. Christ redeemed Israel from their sin by his blood of the new testament to be that holy nation for the Gentiles.

Peter preached Jesus dying for our sins.

1 Peter 1:19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Peter was saying Jesus died only for the sins of Israel under the old testament.
Jesus is the Savior of the world.

All who want to be saved have to go through the blood of Jesus.

Peter even helped the first Gentiles get saved by receiving the Holy Spirit.

To all? Acts 2 verse 36 Peter is addressing the house of Israel
Yes I anticipated you would insist so added this here again:

“THROUGH the One resurrected to ALL who are afar off even”...Acts 2:36-41

The “to all” is to whom the Promise is resurrected...not Peter’s audience...

This ALL is INCLUSIVE of those far off...Paul builds on this too...Eph 2:13 “...you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

As for who Peter was addressing...

                        Again as posted earlier:

Notice it is House of Israel and NOT blood of Israel...you know with a Cornerstone? Paul builds on it (pun intended) with his “in Whom the whole building being joined together grows into a holy temple...” Eph 2:21 what was joined? believing Jews and believing goyim...see? Peter KNEW and PREACHED THAT...and 3000 were joined into the house at Pentecost

So yes this House of Israel...not of blood...as was the ekklesia which was already in the OT wilderness as Stephen pointed out Acts 7:38 and already then with strangers NOT OF JACOB...

This house of Israel has a foundation of the apostles Eph 2:20 Peter the rock Christ the cornerstone and Paul includes the gentiles in Corinth “you are Yah’s field Yah’s building” 1 Cor 3:9

But you insist Peter was only talking to this House of Israel not of blood:

Pentecost was one of 3 pilgrimage feasts the only which did NOT specify strangers or foreigners as keeping so only blood...Pentecost is originally known as festival of weeks a harvest festival...specifically a first fruits...so first to the Jew right?

As a pilgrimage festival this meant ALL MALES had to go to Jerusalem...well obviously by the time this Pentecost occured in the first century it was only DEVOUT JEWS...as the not so devout stayed home...imagine the logistical nightmare of EVERY MALE in Jerusalem from Egypt to Iran to Rome...of course not all leaving their girls behind...

This Pentecost we had men devout Jews from all over born in many languages AND JEWISH PROSELYTES Acts 2:10...converted INTO Jews...so ALREADY a HOUSE NOT OF BLOOD...

Peter addresses them verse 14 “Men of Judea and ALL who dwell in Jerusalem” just for the festival? ALL even gentiles?...later again verse 22 “Men of Israel” including those that killed Him...verse 29 “Men and brethren” two categories as some did not believe “men” and some did “brethren” and then Peter finally addresses that crowd as verse 36 house of Israel and that it should know...verse 39 the promise is to you to your children AND TO ALL WHO ARE AFAR OFF AS MANY AS THE LORD WILL CALL

So in this case I think the message > the crowd...as Peter reminds it what this ekklessia since in the OT wilderness ALWAYS is...OF PROMISE to ALL

Might I remind you that this House of Israel was NEVER by blood as Sarah was barren due to old age...so her NATURAL blood line was OVER...

It was through Divine Intervention that she received an egg for Abraham’s line to continue...that PROMISED donated egg went on to be the father of Jacob...so named by humans and REBORN and AGAIN by DIVINE INTERVENTION into ISRAEL...Judah only 1/12 of it...

Israel thus was NEVER by natural blood but ONLY by PROMISE and DIVINE INTERVENTION

Even in Egypt it was NOT about them but because of a PROMISE to their fathers Deut 4:37

It was NOT about Israel’s earned merit or righteousness Deut 9:5

And yet over and over again the Promise WAS CONDITIONAL “IF you obey”

And from the beginning the covenant with Israel was “not with you alone but ALSO WITH HIM WHO STANDS HERE WITH US TODAY...as well as with him who is NOT HERE with us today” Deut 29:14-15

Yup this House of Israel was NEVER just for Jews...

Jesus told his disciples that He would have to suffer and die. That was not the disciples understanding of the messiah. They believed Jesus was going to take over as a phyiscal King and drive out the Romans and establish Israel as a physical kingdom. Peter was upset and told Jesus

""Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” (Matthew 16:22).

                            And Jesus told Peter...

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns” (Matthew 16:23).

Not till Jesus arose from the dead and appeared to the disciples did they understand the true mission of the messiah and the new kingdom.

He was saying all the Gentiles would be blessed through Israel in the kingdom. Christ redeemed Israel from their sin by his blood of the new testament to be that holy nation for the Gentiles.

You claim they did not preach reconciliation by the cross? They were ARRESTED for preaching it Acts 4:1-3

They were preaching the resurrection in Acts 4:1-3
Yup...and now read the sermon JUST PREACHED by PETER Acts 3:12 is WHY they arrested them...

Resurrection from what? the dead...the death on the cross...of the Hope of Israel the Promise to Abraham and ALL nations...which they killed...Peter knows they did it in ignorance for a greater purpose...restoration of all things...and of the covenant made to Abraham “and in your seed ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED”

To you FIRST in raising up Yahushua to bless you in turning away every one of you from your iniquities...”

Thus Peter’s sermon ends the one they were arrested for in chapter 4

To you first...necessarily means there is another...following...second...who is second? All nations to be blessed=restored

restored like the crippled man...best metaphor for SAVED...and Yahushua did the same forgiving of sins...SALVATION is restored and reconciliation

                              Please NOTE:

                              1. The begger of alms from those entering the temple in chapter 3 is healed RESTORED by the Beautiful Gate mentioned TWICE which is the outer gate and gentile territory...”I am the gate”...and beautiful for its Corinthian brass...hmmmm gentile Corinth...

                              2. Note the turning away from your iniquities...the repentance to GOOD WORKS befitting repentance...RESTORATION and RECONCILIATION is SALVATION and through the cross which had crippled us all and is the wage of our sin
