if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his !

if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his !

Rom 8:9

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

This means that any persons before being born spiritually by New Birth, and having had Christ revealed to them and His Righteousness on their behalf, that person has no right to say he or she belongs to Christ, yes even the elect, who have been chosen in Christ, and redeemed by Him, yet being not yet born again by the Spirit, is yet in darkness, but after New Birth, and so by the Spirit, he can confess Jesus as Lord, his Lord 1 Cor 12:3. Faith in Christ, and Believing His Gospel are evidences of one being in a Born Again, Born anew state !

Beware of good works !

Beware of good works !

Good works of men, morality can easily become the enemy of the cross of Christ ! Now are good works relevant in the believers life or walk ? Yes in deed, for Paul admonishes Believers of the value and importance of good works here in Titus 3:8, and besides that, the New Creation Shall walk in Good Works Eph 2:10

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Notice, the New Creation will walk in good works, not the flesh or that which is born of the Flesh Jn 3:5-6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

However, there is that which makes good works or morality the enmity and rival of the Cross, and that is when we make good works such as our act of believing, repentance, keeping of ordinances, as necessary unto Salvation by way of causative. When we believe that God by them and because of them, He is pleased to save us. In this way of thinking, Christ's Cross Work is denied sole authorship of the saved ones Salvation, it is no longer He that effects it and conversion to God. Christ's Death is what effects conversion to God, it being the fruit of His Death Jn 12:24

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. The word fruit here means:

the fruit of one's loins, i.e. his progeny, his posterity

That's Christ offspring from His Death, spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah 53:10

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

This word seed here is also translated fruitful in the OT Ezk 17:5

In this then, good works become the enemy of the Cross, because they are deeds we do in the flesh, not from the New Birth, that we rely on to cause us to be accepted of God !

Beware of good works ! cont

Beware of good works ! cont

When we trust in good works to find our acceptance with God, be it our believing or whatever, Good works becomes the enemy to the Cross. For it is not by works of Righteousness which we have done, that is not of any effort of ours, no right deeds or acts of ours, no right deeds or acts of ours, such as belief, repentance, water baptism, going to church after turning over a new lease in life, none of that saves a man, but only by God's Sovereign Mercy, which gives a New Birth, a Regeneration, 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

This being begotten again from the Dead , which equals New Birth or Regeneration, this is what saved us according to Titus 3:5

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

This washing of Regeneration and renewing of the Hoy Ghost equals New Birth, that is what saved us !

Paul says the same thing in this fashion Eph 2:5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )

But Peter says it's Mercy 1 Pet 1:3

The True Christian !

The True Christian !

The True Christian is comprised of Two Two Men, in one twofold character .

He is born of a man that is born of the flesh or corruptible seed Jn 3:6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

He is also born of the Spirit and incorruptible seed ! He is a old man and a new man all in one !

Each man is out of different respective Heads, that they previously existed in, one head being adam, the corruptible seed, the other being Christ the incorruptible seed, the Logos of God !

The Believer is made up of the old man and the new man ! Eph 4:22-24

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

A work !

A work !

A work is any deed we do, whether it be physical or mental. In other words, a lust in the mind is just as much a deed of the flesh or work of the flesh as physical fornication, its a mental deed ! Gal 5:19

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

This word works, is the same word used in Eph 2:9 where it reads Eph 2:9

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This is important because things we do with our mind are considered works. Lasciviousness is lust, which we do with the mind or heart , and its a work !

So likewise, faith and or believing is done with the mind and or heart and so its also a work !

So those of you who claim to be saved from your sins because you believed in your heart, then you are claiming salvation by your works; and since many believe that regeneration comes after faith or believing, then you are claiming salvation by the work of the flesh , your human faith from the flesh of you !

Christ did come in the flesh !

Christ did come in the flesh !

1 Jn 4:2-3

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 Jn 1:7

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

When scripture speaks concerning Christ having come in the flesh, it cannot be overlooked that when He did, He only took on the seed of Abraham, meaning a Chosen Elect People ! Heb 2:14-17

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Made Like unto His Brethren here are not ethnic jews, but His Spiritual brethren Rom 8:29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

An elect brethren , set apart brethren from all other people groups of the earth. So His incarnation was not the identification with everyone without exception, but only a chosen segment, so should we understand 1 Jn 4:1-2 !

Christ's Obedience to the Law !

Christ's Obedience to the Law !

Heb 10:7-10

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Ps 40:8

8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ's Obedience to the law was perfect and it was for and in the place of all for whom He lived and died, they having a Vital Union with Him; that is what Paul is teaching in Rom 5:12ff For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God Rom 3:23, which occurred in God's Reckoning here Rom 5:12 !

This tells us that the Transgression of God's Law by this one entity [Adam] effected Death in sin to all who were in a Vital Union with Him from God's perspective. The sin of adam or his disobedience Rom 5:18 Legally constituted in him was the embodiment of all his Natural family, guilty of Transgression.

Now he [Adam] was a figure or type of Him to come, So Christ when He came in the flesh, was made like unto His Brethren, taking on the seed of Abraham, He was the embodiment of all His Spiritual seed, or Family, and therefore in virtue of this Vital Union they had with Christ, they receive all the blessings, His Obedience and Law keeping deserves, and that is Eternal Life as per Rom 2:7,10 !

Now everyone Christ lived and died for, are the ones who keep the commandments of God as per Rev 14:12

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

For God given Faith reveals to them that they keep the commandments of God, not in themselves, but through the Work of Christ, and His Law Keeping imputed to them, His Active law Keeping obedience while He lived upon the earth, and through Him they have kept every Law of God Perfectly, as Christ did. Remember the young mans question ? Matt 19:16

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Jesus responded Matt 19:17

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Yes, everyone Christ died for, has kept the commandments, and they all shall enter into Life.

Jesus will say to them all, based solely upon His Finished work, and His obedience to the Law Matt 25:34

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Everyone created in Adam in the beginning is redeemed by Christ, hence those correlating statements in Rom 5:15-19 perfectly complement one another in giving the effects of the act of each head, adam the natural federal head of the Elect, and Christ the Spiritual Federal Head of the Elect. Those that are excluded from Christ's redemption are not any of the seed of adam, but those of the seed of the serpent, the children of the wicked one have no redemption through Christ. Gen 3:15

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Matt 13:38

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

In the greek it is oi uioi tou ponhrou

The sons of the wicked. Sons here means :

in a wider sense, a descendant, one of the posterity of any one,

That the serpent[The wicked one] had a posterity given him is declared in God's words to him Gen 3:14-15

14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent or the devil, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The word seed means offspring, descendants, posterity, children

So the sons of the wicked one were not created in Adam in the beginning but in the serpent !

When are the saints actually Glorified ?

When are the saints actually Glorified ?

Rom 8:29-30

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

When are the saints actually glorified ? Most will admit that the saint or believer has been predestinated in the past, called past, Justified past, Glorified future ! However, even though there is a most glorious experience of Glorification awaiting the Believer, and a manifestation of the same, that truth no way detracts from the Glorification the Believer now possesses. The word glorified is the greek word doxazō

think, suppose, be of opinion

2) to praise, extol, magnify, celebrate

3) to honour, do honour to, hold in honour

4) to make glorious, adorn with lustre, clothe with splendour

a) to impart glory to something, render it excellent

b) to make renowned, render illustrious

1) to cause the dignity and worth of some person or thing to become manifest and acknowledged

It means honored, dignified, exalted to Glory. It is written Lk 17:15

15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Yes a grateful leper glorified God. It is said that men shall see your good works and Glorify your Father which is in Heaven Matt 5:16 ! Now lets look at 1 Pet 4:14

14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

The believer is Glorified now because of the Spirits prescience with them and in them, even Christ, Christ in them the hope of Glory. The Believer is Glorified by reason of their sufferings and reproaches for Christ's sake. And it is given by God, not only to believe on Christ but also to suffer for Christ's Sake Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Rom 8:17

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Also, Christ's Glorification began when He was raised from the dead, and so was all His Members that He represented, and they were made to sit down together in heavenly places Eph 2:5-6

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Yes, even that is a present glorification of all for whom Christ died ! So Glorification is just like Salvation, or Justification, an aspect of it is experienced in this Life, and there is yet a future aspect of Salvation, Glorification, Justification and Redemption; For the Believer has been redeemed, and yet looks forward to the day of redemption, the Redemption of the Body, which is also Glorification !

Love to God !

Love to God !

1 Jn 4:19

We [True Believers] love him, because he first loved us.

There is not True Love to God from a person, not until that person has had it revealed to them by the Spirit, God's Eternal Love for them in choosing them in Christ before the foundation, Christ redeeming them from sin by His precious blood, and then calling them by His Grace, until then, all supposedly obedience to God and Love to Him is nothing but unacceptable dead works from the flesh of men dead in sin !

No Fear of God before their Eyes !

No Fear of God before their Eyes !

Rom 3:18

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Religious people today do not have fear of God before their eyes, and when I say fear of God, I mean reverence for the Almighty, for they think of God to be like unto themselves. Paul writes of them here 2 Tim 3:5

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For instance, they think and believe God can will or desire a thing and then not bring it to pass, for they will say that God wills the Salvation of all men without exception from [ 1 Tim 2:4] but He does not bring it to pass, but the Testimony of scripture and the Saints states Job 23:13

13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

This type of thinking about God is why it is said that Job was one that Feared God Job 1:1

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Job had knowledge of the Almighty !

David writes Ps 115:3

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

This testimony comes from a heart that fears and reverences God, and states that God has done whatsoever He pleased. The word pleased here is the hebrew word chaphets and means:

to delight in, take pleasure in, desire, be pleased with

a) (Qal)

1) of men

a) to take pleasure in, delight in

b) to delight, desire, be pleased to do

2) of God

a) to delight in, have pleasure in

b) to be pleased to do

2) to move, bend down

a) (Qal) to bend down

God has done what He pleases, meaning what God wills, He does. With men this is not the case, for we oft time meet with disappointment, however this cannot be with God, because He is Almighty and Sovereign !

Except ye repent, ye shall likewise perish !

Except ye repent, ye shall likewise perish !

Lk 13:3-5

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Most take this passage to mean that Jesus is Teaching Repentance to be performed by a sinner as a condition , or in order to get saved, however that is not what Jesus is saying at all. Jesus here merely made a declarative statement that was True, simply because those who are not given repentance from Him as their Prince and Saviour Acts 5:31, will no doubt perish in their sins. Repentance in regards to Salvation is given [not offered] by God, for Christ is God Our Saviour, if He indeed saves us. Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Note: If Christ does not give us Repentance, then He is not Our Prince and Saviour !

It [Repentance] is given by Him as proof or evidence of Him being our Saviour, for its a Change of Mind. As men in the flesh we are void of this type of repentance, for if man could change their minds by our own so called freewill, it would not be necessary for Christ to give it, or to bestow it upon those He is saving !

This Repentance that Christ gives to Israel or His Church or His Elect is the New Birth. 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

This being begotten again, the New Birth, is God giving us Repentance. Why is that ? Because the words here begotten again is the greek word anagennaō and means:

to produce again, be born again, born anew

2) metaph. to have one's mind changed so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God

You see that ? It means to have ones mind changed ! What is Repentance in Lk 13:3-5 ?

The word repent there is the greek word metanoeō and means:

to change one's mind, i.e. to repent

2) to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

What can be more plainer ? Repentance is the fruit of the New Birth ! So in actuality, what Jesus is saying in Lk 13:3-5, is that except you are born again, ye shall like wise perish ! No New Birth by the Resurrection of Christ from the dead 1 Pet 1:3, then no repentance, and therefore we perish in our sins without a Saviour !

Preach Repentance in my Name !

Preach Repentance in my Name !

Lk 24:45-47

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Jesus never told His Apostles to preach repentance as a condition for salvation, as the Antichrist ministers tell us, but He told them to preach Repentance and Remission or Forgiveness of sins in His Name among all Nations, or Ethnics ! This word preached is the greek word kēryssō
and it means to:

to be a herald, to officiate as a herald

a) to proclaim after the manner of a herald

b) always with the suggestion of formality, gravity and an authority which must be listened to and obeyed

2) to publish, proclaim openly: something which has been done

3) used of the public proclamation of the gospel and matters pertaining to it, made by John the Baptist, by Jesus, by the apostles and other Christian teachers

Note, never does this word mean offer or make available.

The main emphasis here is to publish or proclaim or make something known that has been done or accomplished. For Two things here Jesus tells them to Make Known, that is Repentance and Forgiveness of sins have been done, accomplished in His Name !

The word Name here means:

the name is used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one's rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc.

Through His Work, His Person, forgiveness of sins and repentance have been accomplished for those He died for ! Both of these Blessings, Repentance and Remission of sins are both found in Him and given by Him to His Elect People. If you do not believe me, we shall read what Peter preached, as he is one of the ones Jesus was speaking to and commanding to go Preach in our text ! Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Peter in his sermon here states unequivocally that the now Risen and Ascended Saviour of the Church is above to give [not offer] Repentance and Remission of sin to who ? Yes Israel, or His Elect, or His Church or His Sheep. For remember He also was raised from the dead as the Great Shepherd of the Sheep Heb 13:20, which is the same as being raised from the Dead as the Saviour of Israel, so Israel and Sheep are the same, and we know that all His Sheep are not jews by His comment in Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Now at this juncture, Peter did not command anyone to repent, but specifically Preached or Made known what Christ had accomplished or done by His Work, and What He is now doing to them He is now saving.

Repentance is part of His Saving Work, to give it, and so is enlightenment of having ones sins remitted for His Names Sake ! Eph 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,

So we fail to Preach Repentance correctly without making it known that it is given to God's Elect in Behalf of the Person and Work of Jesus Christ, or in His Name, and for His Sake !

Cannot Believe Gospel if in a Lost state !

Cannot Believe Gospel if in a Lost state !

If a person is in a lost state, they cannot believe the Gospel and be saved, because they are lost ! 2 Cor 4:3-4

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

If a person is lost, and blinded by satan, and they never come to believe, then that is one for whom Christ was not given in behalf of or was not given as a Covenant, that He should open their Eyes as Per Isa 42:6-7

6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

The blind eyes here are the same as that which satan keeps blind in the lost 2 Cor 4:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not !

The eyes of our understanding as Eph 1:18a

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened

Acts 26:18

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

So it is impossible for one that Christ died, was given as a Covenant, for them to remain in a Lost state and not believe the Gospel because of being blinded by the god of this world, which is satan ! So unbelief of the Gospel is a symptom of being in a lost state, and believing it is a evidence of being in a saved state !

A stumblingblock !

A stumblingblock !

One of the Main stumbling blocks of Salvation by Grace or Justification by Grace Rom 3:24

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Is that the unregenerate creature cannot believe that God would Justify someone without them doing something to deserve it, which often times is Faith or Believing. That being said, the natural man does not and believe in Justification or Salvation by Grace through Faith, Faith not being man's contribution, but it's revealer and evidence !

Knowledge of God before Trust or Faith

Knowledge of God before Trust or Faith

Ps 9:10

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

It was promised that the gentiles would Trust Matt 12:17-21

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. See Isa 42:4

One cannot believe on the name of the Son of God, if they do not know Him First, know His Name ! Answer me this, how can we call upon the Name of the Lord as here Rom 10:13

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If we do not know Him whom we call upon ??

Did not Paul say 2 Tim 1:12

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Does not the sound like Trust ? Could you Trust someone you did not know ?

Also I find these words very instructive to this point, when Jesus said here on this occasion Jn 9:35-36

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

Christ the Son of God must first be revealed in us, by the internal working of the Spirit, and so Paul says this as an example Gal 1:16

16 To reveal[Make Known] his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

This is the a effect of New Birth, for then is Christ revealed in us and formed in us , then are we led to Trust in Him Eph 1:13, for one must know Christ Spiritually, for Christ says, His Sheep hear His voice, and knows it rather than a stranger, for a stranger is one we do not know !

How does the elect know that what he hears in the Gospel is the voice of Christ if he does not know Christ first ? How can he trust in a strangers voice ? Think about it ! Jn 10:5

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

What about cain ?

What about cain ?

Cain was not created in Adam in the beginning !

When scripture gives us the generation of Adam, it does not include cain in the genealogy, simply because he was not originally part of that seed of mankind, created in Adam !

Lets read scripture here Gen 5:1-32

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

Note: Seth was a replacement for Abel whom cain murdered Gen 4:25-26

25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

Notice, it was these who were out of that generation which God had created in Adam, when He created him in the likeness of God as per Gen 5:1-2 !

Also if we read the genealogy of Christ as written in Lk 3:23-38, notice no mention of Adam's firstborn cain ! Again, that is because cain was not in Adam when man was created in the image of God in the beginning !

Later scripture tells us why this is so ! Because cain was out of that wicked one 1 Jn 3:12

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Cain was of that wicked one , the devil, who was sown by him as Jesus makes clear here Matt 13:36-39

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; Adam and his generations in the beginning is the good seed Gen 5:1-2

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

The tares are those of the serpents seed as per Gen 3:15-16

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Cain was out of that generation, and not out of that Generation in Adam !

More on cain !

More on cain !

Jesus put cain in the generation of the serpent, observe Matt 23:31-36

31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

That word generation in vs 33 is the greek word gennēma and means:

that which has been born or begotten

a) the offspring or progeny of men or animals

b) the fruits of the earth, the produce of agriculture

Remember when God told the serpent this Gen 3:14-15

14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The word seed here which the Lord God said the serpent had is the word zera`

and means

seed, sowing, offspring

a) a sowing

b) seed

c) semen virile

d) offspring, descendants, posterity, children

Jesus was calling those men in Matt 23 the offspring or the generation of the serpent, and He linked cain with them as he was one of them that murdered Righteous Abel !

Thats why cain was not in the offspring or the generations of Adam Gen 5:1-4

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

This also tells us that cain was never made in the Image of God, only those in Adam were !

Cain not Loved by God !

Cain not Loved by God !

Cain, as others of the seed of the serpent[Gen 3:14-15; 1 Jn 3:12 are those God never Loved in Christ before the world began Jn 17:23-24, and neither were they chosen in Him that they should be Holy and without Blame before Him in Love Eph 1:4, and neither were they predestinated to be conformed into the Image of God's Son Rom 8:29 !

The Power of His Resurrection !

The Power of His Resurrection !

Phil 3:10

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Paul writes that I may know Him and the power of His Resurrection, not that Paul did not already know Jesus Christ, His Person, or that he had not already experienced the Power of His resurrection, for it is through that Power that those for whom Christ died do believe as stated in Eph 1:19-20

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Also he knew as well that it was through Christ's Resurrection Power that he had been begotten again as Peter knew 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Our New Birth is by the Power of the Resurrection ! So what Paul's desire was here in Phil 3:10, was to know more of the Power of the Resurrection !

Both The ability to believe on Christ and to suffer for His cause are given to all for whom He died by His Resurrection Power Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
