Finland should change its criminal code, since apparently the rapist was given three years after being convicted for aggravated sexual abuse.

"A person who has sexual intercourse with a child younger than sixteen years of age ... shall be sentenced for sexual abuse of a child to imprisonment for at most four years."

It's worth being mindful of our own history.

Ages of consent in the US:

While the general age of consent is now set between 16 and 18 in all U.S. states, the age of consent has widely varied across the country in the past. In 1880, the age of consent was set at 10 or 12 in most states, with the exception of Delaware where it was 7.

We've come a long way in protecting children, but there's still work to be done across all cultures, including our own.
