...but a lot of conservatives seem to think that the new racism is pointing out racism.

The time when black lives weren't valued by society as much as white lives is rapidly ending. Which is why racists of all stripes are angry and complaining about it. Half a century ago, if someone made the assertion that there would be less concern over the deaths of black children than over the deaths of white children, no one like your blogger would have even bothered commenting on it, because it wouldn't have had any effect. People were accustomed to thinking that way.

Today that message will have an effect, and it frightens and angers him.

They're having a bit of a resurgence of late. Whether it's a final death-gasp or something more permanent is not a given, but it may well be that as white people lose some of their historical power, it could become more acceptable to engage in white identitfy politics.
