DHS draft document: White supremacists are greatest terror threat

White supremacists present the gravest terror threat to the United States, according to a draft report from the Department of Homeland Security.

Two later draft versions of the same document — all of which were reviewed by POLITICO — describe the threat from white supremacists in slightly different language. But all three drafts describe the threat from white supremacists as the deadliest domestic terror threat facing the U.S., listed above the immediate danger from foreign terrorist groups.

. .. .

John Cohen, who oversaw DHS’s counterterrorism portfolio from 2011 to 2014, said the drafts’ conclusion isn’t surprising.

“This draft document seems to be consistent with earlier intelligence reports from DHS, the FBI, and other law enforcement sources: that the most significant terror-related threat facing the US today comes from violent extremists who are motivated by white supremacy and other far-right ideological causes,” he said.

. . . .

None of the drafts POLITICO reviewed referred to a threat from Antifa, the loose cohort of militant left-leaning agitators who senior Trump administration officials have described as domestic terrorists.

The earliest draft has the strongest language on the threat from white supremacists, in an introductory section labeled “Key Takeaways.”

“Lone offenders and small cells of individuals motivated by a diverse array of social, ideological, and personal factors will pose the primary terrorist threat to the United States,” the draft reads. “Among these groups, we assess that white supremacist extremists – who increasingly are networking with likeminded persons abroad – will pose the most persistent and lethal threat.”

American Christianity’s White-Supremacy Problem
History, theology, and culture all contribute to the racist attitudes embedded in the white church.

"If you were recruiting for a white supremacist cause on a Sunday morning, you’d likely have more success hanging out in the parking lot of an average white Christian church—evangelical Protestant, mainline Protestant, or Catholic—than approaching whites sitting out services at the local coffee shop."

In the end, however, ameliorating the theology of white Christianity is likely inadequate. In “Taking America Back for God” (Oxford), published earlier this year, the sociologists Andrew L. Whitehead and Samuel L. Perry examine racist and xenophobic attitudes among white Christians through the lens of a distinct set of cultural beliefs—most notably, the idea that America is, and should be, a Christian nation. They find that this collection of cultural markers, which they call “Christian nationalism,” was a better predictor of support for Trump in the 2016 election than economic discontent, religious affiliation, sexism, or any number of other variables. The defining concern of Christian nationalism is the preservation of a certain kind of social order, one threatened by people of color, immigrants, and Muslims.

Charges filed against militia members traveling to Kenosha

Two members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia group from Missouri traveling to Kenosha, Wisconsin, were arrested Thursday by federal officials and charged with illegally possessing a cache of weapons.

Michael M. Karmo and Cody E. Smith were separately charged and ordered to be temporarily detained until their bail hearings on September 8 at 10:30 a.m. in front of Magistrate Judge Stephen C. Dries.

Karmo, 40 and Smith, 33, were roommates for a month, worked together and were members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia, a pro-law enforcement group, according to the criminal complaint. They traveled by car to Kenosha to "see for themselves" what was going on at the protests, attended a "Make America Great Again" rally and planned to go to Portland to "take action" if police were defunded, according to Karmo's criminal complaint.

"Kenosha Police Department advised FBI that a law enforcement agency in Iowa had received a tip that Karmo and an unidentified male were in possession of firearms and traveling from Missouri to Kenosha, Wisconsin," prosecutors said in a statement Thursday.

FBI agents found in their hotel room an Armory AR-15 rifle, a Mossberg 500 AB 12-Gauge shotgun, two handguns, a silencer, ammunition, body armor, a drone, a twisted cable survival saw, a dagger and other materials, prosecutors said. They each have criminal records and were not authorized to have any firearms of ammunition, prosecutors said.

The Facebook Page of Karmo Is Filled With Pictures of Guns & Political Commentary, Including Remarks About America Falling & COVID-19 Being a ‘Hoax’

His most recent visible post reads, “Free nowledge for the taking …” The post continues, “Children of Issachar – According to the Targum they were all astronomers and astrologers: “and the sons of Issachar, who had understanding to know the times, and were skilled in fixing the beginnings of years…” [1 Chron. 12:32]

He showed a dark view of the world, writing, “You see most of the world has already been enslaved…America still is the third worlds only hope . we fall the entire planet will be lost.” In another post, he wrote, “This is the plan . 200 years + there never been a mail in vote . now it’s a big deal . why? There some bullsh** unlawfully fake law that says if is president has not been declared after Jan 20th . the speaker of the house becomes president . are we gping to allow that .?”

With an August news story of a Black man accused of shooting a child in the head, he wrote, “How much more will we take ? when is enough enough ?How much longer before good men in the sheriffs department local police fbi home land security get off there knees and take action ? We all have to look ourselves in the mirror and know america fell on our watch … Who could live with that.”

He also argued that COVID-19 is a hoax, writing, “and this is the true reason behind the entire coup we are seeing unfold with this whole covid hoax . even older news now.”

Syracuse lawyer resigns after touting ‘white nationalist movement’ to protect ’our daughters’

Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse attorney has resigned as a taxpayer-funded defense attorney a day after he posted to Facebook that he was researching how to form a “conservative white nationalist movement,” an effort he said was necessary because “our daughters deserve to be safe.”

H. Dana VanHee, a criminal defense attorney in Syracuse since 2005, posted Thursday afternoon that “concerned citizens” approached him about the legality of forming such a movement.

“Someone approached me today and asked me about the legality of forming a conservative white nationalist movement. I told them I’d research. Please inbox me if interested or revolted,” VanHee wrote, and added later in a reply: “I’m under the impression that this would be very successful. So many people are too scared to speak up.”

Fellow attorney Ronnie White spotted VanHee’s post and confronted him in the comments, then posted screenshots of the exchange. VanHee doubled down on the remarks to White and others who challenged the racist comments.

“I will be representing the white working class in its pursuit of racial equality,” VanHee wrote. “Our daughters deserve to be safe.”

Christian nationalism provides cover for white supremacy, BJC leader says

Christian nationalism provides cover for white supremacy, and both must be stopped by Christians concerned about religious freedom, Amanda Tyler said at the National Press Club June 26.

Tyler defined Christian nationalism as “a political ideology and cultural framework that seeks to merge American and Christian identities.” It asserts that “true Christians are Americans and real Americans are Christians. It demands a privileged place for Christianity in our laws and government.”

Christian nationalism provides cover for racism and “acts a lot like racism,” she said. “It is pervasive, insidious and infects all aspects of American life. It feeds on a carefully curated white-centered version of history.”

White supremacism is insidious all ends up. There are some facets of "Christianity" that embrace it but often it's almost a "religion" akin to itself where the only thing that matters is the advancement of the "white race" which is almost as hilarious as it is repugnant.

What Trump supporters do on weekends:

5 Boats Sink At Trump Boat Parade In Texas

Ultimately, five boats did sink during the event. Three of those were recovered, but two remained submerged Sunday.

There were no injuries among those who called for help, the sheriff's office said. The office said it found "no evidence of foul play."

The weather on Lake Travis, which is west of Austin, was calm Saturday, but the large number of boats moving together produced large waves, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

In other words, they sank their own because the larger boats didn't watch out for the small boats.

But that didn't stop the conspiracy theorists!

TWO boats…MAYBE…4…MUCH LESS LIKELY, but POSSIBLE…OTHERWISE it’s CLEARLY SABOTAGE…
