In Acts Chapter 2, they heard the Gospel, they believed the Gospel and they received the Holy Spirit.

Wrong order again!

Remember the dead can't hear.

Only one who is Of God can hear God's Words John 8:47!

So first they were Born of God, made Alive / Quickened by the Spirit.
Then as a result and evidence of New Life, were given Hearing Ears Prov. 20:12; John 3:27.
And they had Faith / Belief which is a Fruit of the Spirit Gal. 5:22!

HOGWASH!

"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" Romans 10:17. Which is the Gospel.

Over 8000 Jews heard the Gospel and believed, Acts 2:41.

You are in denial of the power of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit which may be the unforgiveable sin.

The dead are made alive by hearing the Gospel and placing their faith in Christ. Now, don't you feel silly?

That is not a better translation. That is Old Testament stuff.
I see you were never taught that Paul often quoted the Old Testament
_____
NUMBER OF TIMES PAUL QUOTES, CITES, OR REFERENCES THE OLD TESTAMENT
ROMANS {approximately 105 verses}
I CORINTHIANS {approximately 72+ verses}
II CORINTHIANS {approximately 21 verses}
GALATIANS {approximately 24 verses}
EPHESIANS {approximately 12 verses}
PHILIPPIANS {approximately 13+ verses}
COLOSSIANS {approximately 4 verses}
I THESSALONIANS {approximately 2 verses}
II THESSALONIANS {approximately 2 verses}
I TIMOTHY {approximately 13 verses}

The just shall live by faith, because there is no other way for them to live. Those that have been justified by Christ don't need a religion ... It is not the Gospel plus religion, it is the Gospel plus nothing. rld.

Where does it say the gospel alone saves you? No, in th Word it says that BAPTISM "now saveth you"

It says you must be BAPTIZED in "water and the Holy Spirit"

I think it is in the Gospel of John, chapter 3

I can't find anywhere in the Bible where it says we are saved by faith plus our obedience.

Your obedience is not going to count in the judgment because you are a sinner, Romans 3:10.

The scriptures say if you do not have obedience, your faith is DEAD.

If you do not have obedience, then Jesus will not live with you, you will not be his family, and you will not be his friend.

I do, which is why I check the Old Testament to see what Paul is talking about.

Acts 17:11
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

The Holy Spirit is our guide and our keeper, not the law.
The Holy Spirit is not guiding you to teach salvation by works, by what a person does! Neither does He guide you in your false teaching that denies the saving efficacy of Christ death! You teach that millions for whom Christ died shall wind up in hell lost in their sins in unbelief!

The Holy Spirit is our guide and our keeper, not the law.

MOSES came with the law, and JESUS CAME WITH GRACE (John 1:17).

Jesus came with grace AND TRUTH.

Did you hear that? Jesus taught us the WAY, and we have to do what Jesus the truth says to get to the Father.

The scriptures say if you do not have obedience, your faith is DEAD.

If you do not have obedience, then Jesus will not live with you, you will not be his family, and you will not be his friend.

You do not receive the HELPER and guide unless you OBEY. That is what scripture SAYS. See Acts 5:32.

"We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

To whom is the Holy Spirit given? Please answer the question...just say it aloud with your mouth, say it aloud. That would be a great beginning for you. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from speaking the truth aloud---the Holy Spirit is given to those that obey.
