More on this story. This officer has been accused of excessive force several times in the past. He won one federal case that accused him of excessive force.

Around 10:30 a.m., the girl who had the confrontation with the officer was working on her computer, and had her phone out, Robinson said. He said the teacher asked her for her phone, but she said no. An administrator was then called to the room, and Robinson said the administrator pleaded with the girl to get out of her seat, but she didn't

those stupid kids and their damn fool cell phones :nono:

Fields has been accused before of excessive force and racial bias, but has so far prevailed in court. Trial is set for January in the case of an expelled student who claims Fields targeted black students and falsely accused him of being a gang member in 2013.
(From Ebenz's article)

I do not like this one bit.

he says, never having been in the situation himself

go stuff a sock in it, ya big pansy

I wonder what he'd say if he saw an member of a treatment team putting a violent child in a basket hold or a face down. Does he even know those things exist and happen every day?

But that isn't the case here. This case has specific circumstances that are troubling and warrant investigation.

Not enough info.

He was removed from the school as the resource officer but he's still a cop. Sounds like a PR move so the cops don't see anything wrong with what he did.

The girl refused to leave the room. She was escorted out. It was a perfect takedown. Nothing troubling about that. Move on.

In your opinion, of course. I believe you are skimming over important facts to make it easier on yourself. But that is just my perspective.

No, I am a firm believer in the usefulness of discipline. The kids are out of control today.....the schools have their hands tied and the cops do, too. Where discipline is forbidden the way is wide open for abuse. Out of control kids push until someone snaps. We see it from the cradle to the grave.

So, rather than assume I'm skimming to make it easier on myself, try taking the road less travelled.

Well, no. The problem is you are applying very broad brush strokes to specific situations. That doesn't work here. Did you read Ebenz's article? What did you think?

No, not at all. I am disgusted by fascist no-nothing thugs. And the grimy little lickspittles like you who enable them.

History doesn't echo but it sure does rhyme.

girl disrupting class, refuses to leave when asked

what would you do, tough guy?

That's right, pick the little baby up and carry her out. :nono:

No, the girl is old enough to learn she must obey the authorities, and you can bet she won't refuse to show some cop her license when she's asked. "Darn, that was no fun". That little lesson right there may save the girl's life down the road. Better to discipline them now than bury them later.

Call the parents and tell them to come get their disruptive kid out of the classroom or she will be arrested. Give them half an hour to get there, then arrest her. Don't throw her around the room and thrash her on the ground.

That's your opinion. And it may not work for you, but I'm here and it's working just fine for me. I saw what happened with my own eyes. Yes, I read the article. I don't care if Jesse Jackson and the black lives matter people get involved, and having complaints about any officer picking on blacks is nothing unusual. Anytime a black is involved in anything the racist yells begin.

I didn't notice the girl's color. I watched what the officer did, and he was not too rough. I think he did an excellent job. People can't even spank their own kids anymore without some bleeding heart moaning about the "pain" and "humiliation" of the poor little tyke. We're reaping what's been sown, and some of you folks act shocked when force has to be used on the brats you've raised. Not YOU specifically....call that one a broad brush. ;)

:chuckle: Ok, the parents don't arrive in half and hour. Now you have to arrest her. What if she refuses to get up out of her chair?

How about saying "leave her, it's not a real big deal"?

I mean, seriously. Why not?

meanwhile, you've lost a half hour of teaching time

except for teaching the kids how to get away with misbehaving
