You do realize that reconciliation is a 2 way street. Unless both parties are reconciled to each other, there is no reconciliation...
That's right. The reconciliation must be received by both parties.
The Gospel calls for a response. No responce, no salvation.

In other words, God is not at peace with unrepentant sinners either.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

I'm pretty sure that "abideth" is present tense and an active reality...
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The whole world has been reconciled unto God by Jesus Christ, saved and sinners, 2 Corinthians 5:20.
"And you that were sometimes alienated in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled" Colossians 1:21.
This also fits with...
"While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.
Salvation has been provided for all, but nothing is ours until we receive it.
