Is the doctrine of predestination in conflict with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

I can only speak for myself. I was convicted by the Holy Spirit of my need for Christ and his Gospel. I had been convicted before but just brushed it off. This time the call was quite strong and I accepted Christ as my savior. I believe that I could have rejected the call again, but I didn't.

The Holy Spirit is in the world calling all to come to Christ. Some come, some reject. It is all up to us. God does not impose salvation on anyone, if he did he would be unjust.

Amen Pate.

Calvinists deny man's ability to have "Free-will choice." That's why they're
so confused. Free-will is seen throughout the entire Bible. However, the
Calvinist has been indoctrinated to not see it. They are following a "belief
system" created by John Calvin and his ilk.

Christ lamented--Matthew 23:37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones
those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a
hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling."

They were unwilling, because they, chose to be unwilling, which helps to
prove free-will choice.

The Holy Spirit could not in indwell a corrupt vessel back then... Since Jesus' resurrection that is now possible.

Than, why did Christ lament their choice not to follow their God if,
like you say, "they were unable?" Try and be logical when
answering this question? Observers aren't dumb.

The Holy Spirit didn't indwell believers until Paul's Gospel became the "Only
Gospel." Yet, we see Christ's lamenting about His people Israel. Obviously,
He wouldn't be lamenting their choice, if they didn't have one to begin with?

The Old Testament shows that the Hebrews, at times, went away from
God and clung to idols. That was their choice, wasn't it? God disciplined
them at some point, did He not?

Calvinists believe that man is so vile and depraved that if God didn't
intervene and choose a few "Elect" before the foundation of the world,
no one would place their faith in Christ. They make it look as if, man is
merely a "Puppet/robot." They believe God chose a number of people
to save and the rest He chose for eternal damnation.

They preach false doctrine that is contrary to the word of God. They
must change the character and intent of God in order to make their
"belief system" palatable to naive people who listen to their false
Gospel.

If they were to be honest, if you ask them how to become a Christian, they'll
HAVE to say, "It depends if you were of the chosen elect from before the
foundation of the world." Because, they believe you cannot be saved otherwise.

Read the verse again. Who did Jesus want to gather? Who was unwilling?

Are Calvinists Christians? If they have earnestly placed their faith
in Christ as their Savior, I would have to say; Yes. Unless one hears
the Gospel and places their faith in Christ as their Savior, they cannot
be saved. So, the only way possible a Calvinist becomes saved is
through hearing the Gospel and placing their faith in Christ. They're
just confused by how one becomes a child of God. They believe that
God chose them however, in fact, they were saved the same way
everybody else is: by faith in their Savior Jesus Christ.

I always find it interesting that in your testimony (original - on your site) you stated that you couldn't resist. Yet on the boards you say that you could have resisted if you so chose.

The verses you mentioned aren't speaking to the Body of Christ/gentiles.
They're speaking to the House of Israel.

That's why it's essential to be able to "Rightly Divide" the written word of God.

Then you must at least agree that God elected (some of) Israel to salvation. So does He elect some and not others?
