Paul isn't saying we are to believe and do no works meaning believe and don't obey.

Paul is saying we are to believe and do no works of the law which are the purification works, because Jesus is the one who purifies us now.

Who would ever get that the secret to God's heart is not to obey His teachings.

I still do not know what you are talking about. That does not make sense to me. Do you see ceremonial works in scripture?

Shalom.

Jacob

You call yourself a Jew but you don't know what Moses taught?

The ceremonial works of the law were these:

The Burnt Offering; The Grain Offering; The Fellowship Offering; The Sin Offering; The Guilt Offering; Dietary Laws; Purification After Childbirth; Cleansing From Infectious Skin Diseases; Cleansing From Mildew; Discharges Causing Uncleanness; The Day of Atonement; Rules for Priests; The Sabbath; Firstfruits; The Passover and Unleavened Bread; Feast of Weeks; Feast of Trumpets; Feast of Tabernacles; Oil and Bread Set Before The LORD; the Sabbath Year; The Year of Jubilee; Circumcision.

All those ceremonial works were teaching tools; a shadow of Christ.

Colossians 2:17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Hebrews 10:1
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming--not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

Those ceremonial works were a teaching tool.

Galatians 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.

God COMMANDED the sacrifice of animals for the Israelites to atone for their souls.

Leviticus 1:5 You are to slaughter the young bull before the LORD, and then Aaron's sons the priests shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life.

Genesis 9:4
"But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.

Leviticus 17:12
Therefore I say to the Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may any foreigner residing among you eat blood."

Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away our sins.
No more does anyone ever use the blood of animals to atone for their sins.

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

We can see in Genesis that God gave us a glimpse of a son being sacrificed as a lamb.

Genesis 22:7
Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"

Isaiah prophesied about Jesus the Lamb of God.
Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Isaiah 53:10
Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

Hebrews 9:10 They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order.

Hebrews 9:13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.

Hebrews 13:9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.

The regulations were the works to be clean to go to the temple to worship God, and to eat the Passover, to observe special days.

I already told you it is also called the PURIFICATION works of the law.

Are you learning disabled? You don't know about the works of the law the Jews had to do to purify themselves just to be able to go to the temple to worship God and observe special days?

Go ahead and explain what it is to be CLEAN and UNCLEAN in the Bible.

Tell me how the Jews had to clean themselves in the old testament.

Shalom.

I do not see what you are talking about.

I read, study, observe, keep, and teach the Torah. I do not see what you are talking about saying what it is to be CLEAN and UNCLEAN in the Bible. I do not know why you ask me to tell you how the Jews had to clean themselves in the old testament. Of course it is good to be clean. What you mean by clean themselves, I do not know.

I am a Jew, Jewish, of Israel. I observe the covenant and accept the new covenant. The new covenant is God's law written on minds and hearts, for the house of Israel and the house of Judah, in Yeshua Messiah.

The WORK OF THE LAW is the purification/ceremonial works!

Those purification works are what made a person CLEAN, or UNCLEAN

The Gentiles were SEPARATE FROM GOD and DEAD in their sins because they did not do THOSE works...they did not have the seal of CIRCUMCISION IN THEIR FLESH.

Circumcision of the flesh was the evidence that one obeyed the purification works.

However, now through Christ, the Holy Spirit is the seal and evidence.

This scripture is about the UNCIRCUMCISED GENTILES, they were the enemies because they did not clean themselves with the PURIFICATION WORKS:

Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

God gives understanding to those who watch their lives and their doctrines closely.

Do you really think that you can teach me when you don't even know the law had works to clean oneself or you could not even go to the temple to worship God?

When one let's Jesus clean them with his blood, by faith, of the sins they repent of doing, then we have the the law written on our hearts...the law with the fulfilled order to be clean, and the law with the commands not to do this and that.

Before I get off of this subject about being clean according to the law from God given to Moses, I want to teach more about it to those who are teachable and might be glad for this information:

Leviticus 15

Male Bodily Discharges

1The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: 2“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When any man has a discharge from his body, his discharge is unclean. 3Now this is his uncleanness in regard to his discharge – whether his body secretes his discharge or blocks his discharge, he is unclean. All the days that his body has a discharge or his body blocks his discharge, this is his uncleanness.

4“‘Any bed the man with a discharge lies on will be unclean, and any furniture he sits on will be unclean. 5Anyone who touches his bed must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 6The one who sits on the furniture the man with a discharge sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 7The one who touches the body of the man with a discharge must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 8If the man with a discharge spits on a person who is ceremonially clean, that person must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 9Any means of riding the man with a discharge rides on will be unclean. 10Anyone who touches anything that was under him will be unclean until evening, and the one who carries those items must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 11Anyone whom the man with the discharge touches without having rinsed his hands in water must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 12A clay vessel which the man with the discharge touches must be broken, and any wooden utensil must be rinsed in water.

Purity Regulations for Male Bodily Discharges

13“‘When the man with the discharge becomes clean from his discharge he is to count off for himself seven days for his purification, and he must wash his clothes, bathe in fresh water, and be clean. 14Then on the eighth day he is to take for himself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and he is to present himself before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent and give them to the priest, 15and the priest is to make one of them a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. So the priest is to make atonement for him before the Lord for his discharge.

16“‘When a man has a seminal emission, he must bathe his whole body in water and be unclean until evening, 17and he must wash in water any clothing or leather that has semen on it, and it will be unclean until evening. 18When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman and there is a seminal emission, they must bathe in water and be unclean until evening.

Female Bodily Discharges

19“‘When a woman has a discharge and her discharge is blood from her body, she is to be in her menstruation seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening. 20Anything she lies on during her menstruation will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. 21Anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 22Anyone who touches any furniture she sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. 23If there is something on the bed or on the furniture she sits on, when he touches it he will be unclean until evening, 24and if a man actually has sexual intercourse with her so that her menstrual impurity touches him, then he will be unclean seven days and any bed he lies on will be unclean.

25“‘When a woman’s discharge of blood flows many days not at the time of her menstruation, or if it flows beyond the time of her menstruation, all the days of her discharge of impurity will be like the days of her menstruation – she is unclean. 26Any bed she lies on all the days of her discharge will be to her like the bed of her menstruation, any furniture she sits on will be unclean like the impurity of her menstruation, 27and anyone who touches them will be unclean, and he must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

Purity Regulations from Female Bodily Discharges

28“‘If she becomes clean from her discharge, then she is to count off for herself seven days, and afterward she will be clean. 29Then on the eighth day she must take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and she must bring them to the priest at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, 30and the priest is to make one a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. So the priest is to make atonement for her before the Lord from her discharge of impurity.

Summary of Purification Regulations for Bodily Discharges

31“‘Thus you are to set the Israelites apart from their impurity so that they do not die in their impurity by defiling my tabernacle which is in their midst. 32This is the law of the one with a discharge: the one who has a seminal emission and becomes unclean by it, 33the one who is sick in her menstruation, the one with a discharge, whether male or female, and a man who has sexual intercourse with an unclean woman.’”
