Meanwhile, it looks as though the president's response to Charlottesville has cost him another supporter, as Daniel Kammen has tendered his resignation as Science Envoy. I'm not sure what his duties entailed, but apparently carrying water wasn't one of them.

:nono:
Looks like he's been a Science Envoy since 1996 and has a Berkley.EDU e-mail handle so I wouldn't guess that he was s a supporter of a particular President in relation to his Science Envoying.

It was a publicity stunt. He was probably ready to retire anyway.

When does this President ever interact with the "little guy" - his cabinet appointments are almost all millionaires and billionaires with an estimated net worth of $14 billion..

Secretary of Education Besty DeVos: $5.2 Billion

Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin: $40 Million

Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross: $2.9 Billion

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson: $150 Million

Attorney General Jeff Sessions: $7.52 Million

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson: $30 Million

Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price: $13.6 Million

Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao: At Least $22.8 Million

Administrator of the Small Business Administration Linda McMahon: $500 Million(husband Vince McMahon has an estimated net worth at $1.14 billion)

Secretary of Energy Rick Perry: $3 Million

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke: $675,502

Secretary of Labor Andrew Puzder: $4 Million (salary for 2012 was just over $4 million, although that was down from $10 million in 2012)

Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin: $170,000 Annual Salary as Undersecretary of Veterans Affairs (prior salary in private sector $1.3 million a year)

Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue: $6 Million

You wanna give a Cabinet Appointment to a guy that was making $7.25 an hour at the Tasty Freeze?
Which Department should he run?

I believe he's only been the envoy since 2016. But he's had various positions in government service since 1996, in addition to his other activities.

and has a Berkley.EDU e-mail handle
He's been teaching there since 1999. Before that he was a first professor at Princeton for six years. He's a Distinguished Professor of Energy and chairs the Energy and Resources Group for graduate studies at Berkley. He got his Bachelor's from Cornell in physics and his Doctorate from Harvard. He worked on an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that won the 2007 Nobel for its report that year on climate change.

so I wouldn't guess that he was s a supporter of a particular President in relation to his Science Envoying.

He's been critical of this administration, noting that Trump ceded leadership on the Paris accord and, speaking to the Cal Alumni Association he said:

“Our research indicates that investing in solar and wind power yields two to five times the jobs that a similar investment would produce in the fossil fuel sector. The irony is that Trump’s rescinding of the Clean Power Plan is going to hit the Midwestern red states the hardest. The rule would’ve cut greenhouse gas emissions by a third by 2025 and established an $8 billion fund to support clean-up jobs and other benefits for affected states. That would’ve provided a lot of economic opportunity for poor and struggling red state communities.”

Of course he's going to paint a pretty picture of green energy and the benefits. The reality seems to be that it makes no measurable difference and is a huge waste of money. Cut by a third by 2025? Sounds a little far fetched

Sure. His studies back the idea of it being a) good for the environment and b) better for the economy.

Citation? China just sunk 300 billion into their clean energy program.

Cut by a third by 2025? Sounds a little far fetched
What have you read?

Sounds like big trouble for Trump.

Kamman was the guy who had the secret formula for Trump's fake hair piece staying in place.

Will we now have a bald Donald?

In 2014, Channel 4 persuaded him to take his hat off and run his hand over his hair, with the same result:

Warning: That article contains a sampling of the very foul language the Donald is known for.

Aw get a grip. I don't hate the guy.

He is in need of Romans 5:8, just like everyone else.

Insofar as his current position, I do. He is too unstable to have authority over the nuclear codes. Just imagine if Kim Jong Un made fun of Trump's hair ... or ridiculous red ties. Nuclear annihilation.

Trump is also presenting himself, at times, as incapable of being president. So says other Republicans, who are far from liberal.

I think JP knows I am naturally a fiscal conservative and Christian, which makes me quite conservative.

Well, you are honest and reasonable when discussing Trump rather than trying to make excuses for him OR writing all criticism off as "fake news".

By now, everyone has figured out that Trump is not fit to be president. Even Trump has figured it out. But here we are, like some kind of cosmic reality show.

Trump seems to have realized this; he's hired a chief of staff who while unable to contain Trump's weird outbursts, can at least insulate the government from the worst of his impulsive behavior.

So long as Trump doesn't get angry and fire him, too.

Indeed ... which makes the Republican party THAT much more reprehensible. They KNOW how dangerous Trump is and have the power to remove him. Yet they have decided to put politics above doing what is necessary to keep our country safe and healthy.

So how do the look like actors, when actors are supposed to look exactly like those whose character they are playing?

It's the only way to explain the abundance of college age white guys being involved in white supremacy. It's not a popular movement in America, it can't even be called a movement. It's all set up by the left wing
