ECT According to Paul he was not the only one that preached the MYSTERY.

Go study what it is they had to believe and how they showed that they believed/proved their faith. Faith plus works, not salvation by grace through faith apart from works!

The Jews believed they had to receive forgiveness of sins by sacrificing animals.

Jesus SAID THAT HE FORGIVES SINS.

That is what we have to believe.

Jesus does NOT ever tell ANYONE EVER that we are saved by just believing in believing and doing nothing.

The works we do not have to do is get an animal to sacrifice and take it to a priest.

You are wrong about that.

Jesus would not ever tell anyone not to do anything.

We have to believe that Jesus is whom he says he is and we have to obey him.

That is what we have to believe...NOT 'Only Believe and nothing else'.

YOU are arguing with Jesus and what Jesus taught NOT with me.

Jhn 6:28
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jhn 6:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

If you truly believe the Holy Spirit can then convict and direct you.

Maybe you should re-read what Jesus ACTUALLY said:

Jhn 6:28
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jhn 6:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

They asked Jesus what "works" must we work !

Jesus replied: This is the "work" BELIEVE on Him who God has sent.

Think about it. Believe WHAT about Jesus? Believe What?

Jesus says he forgives sins.

THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE TO BELIEVE...we have to believe that Jesus forgives SINS THAT WE REPENT OF DOING.

The Jews used to go to the priest and offer animals.

Now we have to go to Jesus.

That is what we have to believe.

We are not to believe in our believing.

We are not to do nothing.

Yes I believe when Jesus spoke John 3:16 that it was , is, and will remain true for eternity.
I believe it too, the difference is that I also understand it.

So you believe EVERYTHING Jesus taught was replaced and made null and void by Paul's teachings ?
This is the SAME OLD FALSE allegation made by so many rabid religious zealots. Shame on you.

There is only one gospel as per scripture and Jesus NOT Paul is the good news.
There are MANY good news in the Bible.

And this is supposed to mean what ? Jesus said of Himself He is the good shepherd and if ANY man is in Him etc.
Are you that hard of understanding. Paul wrote 13 books of the Bible and preached God's grace in Christ MORE than any other Bible author and YET never ONCE writes of Jesus as the good shepherd or ANY shepherd for that matter. An this means NOTHING to you? No wonder you're so confused.

Are you so blind that you ignore Jesus to follow Paul as Paul himself said to follow Jesus ?
I follow Paul AS HE FOLLOWS Christ and not as the circumcision apostles followed Christ.

P.S. Learn how to quote.

You think Jesus was saying believe in belief.

Jesus says to believe in him.

Believe WHAT IN HIM?

Answer the question.

Why won't you answer?

Jesus went around telling people he forgives sins.

Do you think that Jesus means he forgives your cherished sins?

NO.

Jesus forgives sins that we repent of and we do not need an animal and a priest.

Jesus is the Lamb and the High Priest.

We still have to repent of sins.

Hello Tambora. I do not disagree with what you said I disagree that Paul's message was different than what Jesus had already taught.

I do not understand ignoring the teachings of Jesus that clearly show that he as the Messiah brought and taught the good news for ALL.
Hi Dodge!

There were several things about the mission Paul was sent to do and the mission the 12 were sent to do that were different.

MAD does not ignore the teachings of the 12 or Paul.
We simply realize that their missions did not include the same set of instructions, and we recognize the differences instead of trying to put both round and square pegs into the same hole.

Nothing the 12 were sent to do was wrong.
And nothing Paul was sent to do was wrong.
Both were sent by GOD.

But just as we can all clearly see that GOD dealt with Israel differently than He did any other nation, we can also see GOD was not wrong to do so then, and He's not wrong to do so now.

Things that differ are not the same.

Nope, I will not deny it - we have been baptized unto Paul.

In a manner similar to Paul's intended sense in following assertion...

1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

In a manner the same...but different...

What don't you get about Paul saying not to say I follow Paul? Just tell me.
1Cor 11:1 (AKJV/PCE)
(11:1) Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

The ME there is Paul. So Paul says not to say that we follow Paul, but to follow Paul?

Your selective use of Paul's writings OUT OF CONTEXT prove that you are unlearned.

P.S. Go back on vacation, TOL was much better without you.

1 Corinthians 11:1 KJV

What do you not get about Paul saying to follow him? Just tell me.

Paul is saying to do what he does and FOLLOW CHRIST.

Paul is not saying to say you follow him.

Paul rebukes that idea...that misunderstanding.
