My biggest rub with it other than it is a substandard fuel source is the fact that the constitution does not give the federal government the right to push any fuel source over another upon the people and it surely doesn't have the right to prop it up (subsidize it) with federal (my/our) money. That goes for Ethanol or Crude, these business' have the right to exist and flourish as the buying market demands without federal interference. I am ready to see the federal government juggernaut shrink drastically and this is just one example of where the government does not belong.
Is there an alleged constitutional basis for it?

I can't speak to the US Constitution on the matter, but in general I'm not against the government getting involved in ways like this.

The whole Palin thing is very perplexing, I am waiting to see what her angle is because it is not plainly apparent at this point.
It probably comes down to publicity and money.

here is the latest poll
so
what is wrong with this picture?

1197 voters
689 republican
472 democratic
1161 total
36 not voting
97 percent voting

a more recent poll by the university of new hampshire has

420 saying they will vote in the democratic primary
and
413 saying they will vote in the republican primary

while these numbers are more believable than the quoted ones
we are being asked to simply believe what they say
and
we don't even know
if
these people are registered to vote

Because we all saw how much Sarah added to John McCain's campaign ...

Did you ever consider he *might* have won that election had it not been for his choice in running mates?

Not a chance...if anything she was the only thing keeping his campaign afloat. Palin being picked was a blatant attempt by the establishment to pander to the conservative wing of the party

they are playing the race card in flint
and
it is time the republicans started playing the union card everywhere
the unions are protecting
bad teachers
bad cops
bad workers everywhere
and
bankrupting our schools, cities, and states

worse than that
the unions are protecting the democratic party
that
supports abortion
