"There are some men that ought to be killed". said Bitterlycold Hard.

"That's true", replied Merci Grace, "the police shot to death Badd Mann
who refused to drop his gun. Mann had just murdered three bank tellers."

"I hope Mann died slow and in agony. I would have enjoyed seeing him
shot to pieces", replied Bitterlycold Hard.

"The bank robbing murderer Badd Mann didn't have to die like that", said
Merci Grace, "the Lord Jesus would have saved him, but Badd said no to
God."

"That's true", replied Forgiven Christian, "Badd had previously posted on
social media that he 'wanted no part of the God of the Bible.' "

"I'm glad he's dead and in Hell", smirked Bitterlycold Hard.

"Quite unlike God on that, you are", replied Merci Grace. "He says,
'Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked . . . rather am I not
pleased when they turn from their [evil] ways and live? I take no pleasure
in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord.' " {Ezekiel 18:23, 32}

Justice Shallbedone speaks:

Once there was an evil king named Jehoiakim whose heart was set on
dishonest gain, shedding innocent blood, oppression and extortion. "Therefore,
this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim . . . He will have the burial of a
donkey ~ dragged away and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem."
{Jeremiah 22:18-19}

"But God took no pleasure in the death of Jehoiakim", said Merci Grace.
God wanted him to turn from his wicked ways and repent."

"Agreed", replied Justice Shallbedone.

"There but for the grace of God, go I", said Forgiven Christian.

Justice Shallbedone speaks again:

"The evil King Jehoram's intestines came out", said Justice Shallbedone.

"What?"

"Jehoram [King Of Judah] received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said:
'This is what the Lord . . . says: you have murdered your own brothers, members
of your own family, men who were better than you . . . [therefore] you . . . will be
very ill with a lingering disease of the bowels, until the disease causes your bowels
to come out.' " {2 Chronicles 21:12-15}.

"I would have greatly enjoyed watching Jehoram's bowels come out,
and hearing his moans of agony as he died", said Bitterlycold Hard.

"God took no pleasure in the agony-death of Jehoram", said Merci Grace.
"God wanted him to be a good man, but Jehoram was locked-down in his
Free Will upon doing evil. He chose cold-blooded murder."

"What you said is true", replied Justice Shallbedone, "and justice had to be
done. God cannot be mocked ~ the Universe would not survive it."

"I would have greatly enjoyed watching him die", replied Bitterlycold Hard.

"That's very much unlike God", said Merci Grace. 'God does not want anyone
to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance.' " {2 Peter 3:9}

"You are right again", said Justice Shallbedone. "God even repeats His true
heart's desire for us to hear once again on this matter and He says", 'As surely
as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the
wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn! from your
evil ways.' " {Ezekiel 33:11}

Forgiven Christian speaks:

"Yes that's right", 'God our Savior . . . wants all people to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.' " {2 Timothy 2:3-4}

"Agreed", replied Justice Shallbedone, "but God has given men Free Will. The Bible
offers men a choice: 'Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve . . . . but as
for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.' " {Joshua 24:15}

"Jehoiakim and Jehoram chose the Dark Side and that led to their destruction", said
Forgiven Christian.

"I'm sad to say", replied Merci Grace, "that some men will choose death and destruction.
It says, 'At the end of the age. The Son Of Man will send out His angles, and they will
weed out of His kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will be
thrown into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' "
{Matthew 13:40-42}.

"That's so sad and it doesn't have to end like that", said Forgiven Christian, "because
God says, 'Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the Earth.' " {Isaiah 45:22}

"Yes amen", replied Merci Grace, "and it says 'for the grace of God has appeared that
offers salvation to all people.' " {Titus 2:11}

"Hallelujah to the Lamb", said Justice Shallbedone.

"Amen to that", smiled Forgiven Christian. 'Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world.' " {John 1:29}

Father, we thank You for sending Your Son the Lord Jesus, who went straight
into the pain of The Cross to save us from our sins. And we thank You for His
Resurrection which conquered Death for us, thereby giving us Eternal Life.

Merci Grace speaks:

And now Jesus says:
"Here I am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door. I will come in and eat with that person and they with Me." {Rev. 3:20}.

There are occasions when it is right to rejoice when a wicked tyrant dies.

Psalm 58

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.

7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

Each Christian can decide for themselves how they will interpret
and apply Psalm 58: 3-10 in light of the clear bold clarity of these
two passages spoken by God Himself.

'Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked . . . rather am I not
pleased when they turn from their [evil] ways and live? I take no pleasure
in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord."__God Almighty
{Ezekiel 18:23, 32}

of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn! from
your evil ways."__God Almighty {Ezekiel 33:11}

Question: Does the New Testament teach that God's people, we Christians, ought
to rejoice at the vengeance inflicted on the wicked and proceed to mentally and
emotionally wash our feet in their blood. Is that the message you get from reading
the New Testament?

Not easy!

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor i and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:43-48).

The entire Bible is God's Word... i.e., spoken by God Himself.

Does the New Testament teach that God's people, we Christians, ought
to rejoice at the vengeance inflicted on the wicked and proceed to mentally and
emotionally wash our feet in their blood. Is that the message you get from reading
the New Testament?

Yes or no?

Thoughts For Today:

Do you believe the New Testament teaches that God's people, we Christians, ought
to rejoice at the vengeance inflicted on the wicked and proceed to mentally and

My point is that you are cherry-picking the scripture and trying to make your choice seem "more valid" by saying that "God Himself said such and such".

"...of these two passages spoken by God Himself." is dishonest, since ALL OF THE BIBLE is "spoken by God Himself".

Should the unrepentant wicked person, who has chosen to embrace evil, should that person be welcomed into heaven?

Is God unjust by condemning them to hell?

I'm not rejoicing over anything in this world. The NT tells me to give myself to Christ and His commandments. The Bible tells me there would wars upon wars, plauges, and more evil. I am to help those I can. I am to leave justice in the hands of the government. I took the Word into prisons. I took AA meetings into prisons. I did not have a high expectation of salvation. But if I helped one person it worthwhile. If none it was still worthwhile.

God will burn His enemies in the lake of fire forever and will not regret His judgment upon them for a second. Christians are not to love the world of God's enemies in the same manner they are to love the brethren, and Christians do not rejoice at the demise of the wicked even if it is the rebel's own fault if he rejects God and makes himself an enemy of God.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
