THE LOVE OF GOD SHED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

We have justification unto eternal life by faith alone.

5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

By faith in Christ Jesus we have access to grace and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Our suffering should be viewed in light of the exceeding and eternal glory we shall have; our suffering on one hand is outweighed by our future promised hope of glory on the other hand(2 Corinthians 4:17).

5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Hope is the certainty that we know and rest in the love of God. It is not our love for God, but rather, God's love to us. This hope in God's love is shed in our hearts by the Holy Ghost given us (Ephesians 1:13 2 Corinthians 1:22 Titus 3:5).

5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

This is the love of God shed abroad in our hearts in Romans 5:5. Christ died for the ungodly to pay the penalty of our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).

5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

We are now justified unto eternal life by his shed blood by the cross. We have been saved from wrath through Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:10).

5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

The death of Christ reconciled us to God, and being reconciled his resurrection life saves us (Ephesians 2:4-5 Colossians 2:13 Romans 4:25 Colossians 3:4).

5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

We can rejoice that we have the righteousness of Christ Jesus imputed to us and have been justified unto eternal life (Isaiah 61:10 Romans 4:22-25). We now have the atonement having been reconciled to God by Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection (2 Corinthians 5:18-19 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Hi and here is what I believe about ATONEMENT and what RECONCIAITION means !!

#1 ATONEMENT was only part of Israel !

#2 ATONEMENT was a blood SACRIFICE !

#3 Christ was THE SACIFICE !!

#4 Israel was NOT ALIENATED FROM God and did not have to be RECONCILAITED to God as long as they kept the LAW OF MOSES !

But we know from 2 Cor 3:10-18 that Israel was SET ASIDE snd can be saved as written in 2 Cor 3:16-18 !

#5 The first case of ATONMENT happened in Gen 3:21 !!

#6 Since Gentiles where ALIENATED from God as written in Rom 1:24 and we OBVIOULY needed to be RECONCILED to Christ !

And these sins under the ATONEMENT had to bo paid and Heb 9:15 and it is explained there !

All men naturally are alienated from God. All naturally under sin. Makes no difference a person's race.

You in the dark on the fact that all men naturally are alienated from God and dead in sin. To include jews under old covenant and new covenant. So you made a unlearned comment. You should not even brought up israel in the first place. The creator of the thread didn't.

All sinners were alienated from God by birth, even Calvinists.
Ephesians 2
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
