The second was accomplished by making opposition to homosexuality into a big joke.
Only after making opposition to homosexuality into a big joke was any kind of "rational" dialog possible.

There is no significant change in a person from one day before their 18th birthday and one day after their 18th birthday, so the "age of consent" is completely artificial.
This artificial "age of consent" along with the rejection of puberty as the demarcation between child and young adult, coupled with the over-sexualization of both prepubescent children and pubescent teenagers is causing cognitive dissonance in a lot of people that is actually increasing pedophilia.

I don't believe that to be true. There was a lot of opposition to homosexuality being normalized, and also to transgenderism, but they have both been normalized and are now in the main stream of the public. If a person opposes those perversions they are now automatically labeled extremist, bigot, hater, etc.... These people are very good at, and very dedicated to, mainlining perversions to take this nation ever farther away from God as when Christian influence becomes a decided minority they will be able to do anything they so desire in the political realm and all liberty and justice will disappear in a very short time.

Hispanic parents are protesting the Austin school district's attempts to push homosexuality on their sixth grade children.

[h=2]A parent in Austin, Texas, said she is “offended” by the proposed sex ed curriculum in her school district that normalizes LGBT sexual relations and invites greater risks to children.[/h] “I oppose the approval of the sex ed program because in that curriculum, sixth-graders will be engaging in written scenarios to propose solutions to homophobia,” Caryl Ayala, co-founder of the local group Concerned Parents of Texas, said at a school board meeting Monday night.
Texas Scorecard, a publication of Empower Texans, reported Ayala and other parents rallied against the curriculum, developed in part by abortion business Planned Parenthood, and testified before the trustees of the Austin Independent School District (AISD).
“This will create a climate that pits students against one another and violates students’ rights to hold a different opinion regarding boundaries of sexual behavior according to their family’s values,” she said, adding the curriculum would violate the cultural values of many Hispanic families such as her own.
“I am offended that this school district is grooming 46,000 Hispanic children to accept these behaviors,” Ayala continued. “I consider this a direct assault on Hispanic family culture.”

I have looked back at the way homosexuality and transgenderism has been portrayed on television and in movies and how that has made homosexuality and transgenderism acceptable.
Any attempt to make a serious argument that homosexuality or transgenerism should be accepted as normal completely failed unless it was preceded with a lot of comedy on TV and in movies allowing people to make fun of the homosexuals and transgenders.
The comedy dispersed the hatred and animosity against homosexuals and transgenders, especially when the comedies would add an obviously bigoted character to use to make fun of for that characters hatred of homosexuals and transgenders.
The comedy made it look like being with homosexuals and transgenders was fun.
(This comedy approach was also very successful in changing people's opinions about racism.)

Pedophilia does not have any comedies to conditioning people into acceptance of it, so any attempt to try to normalize it will not work.

Do your own then.
Look for the depictions of homosexuals and transgenders in TV and movies across the decades, as well as the portrayals of anti-homosexual and anti-transgender characters, and try to identify whether the portrayals were serious discussions about the validity of homosexuality and transgenderism or whether the the portrayals were comedic.

Also the article you linked simply states people can have pedophilia as part of their sexual orientation, well yes. People can be sexually attracted to just about anything, because humans are strange that way. That doesn't make it a good thing. They did not at any point say that molesting kids is okay or "normal". There is no way people acting on pedophilia will be tolerated in any sense. Consenting adults is one thing, kids are a whole different issue.

Yep, there's just nothing to support anything resembling society tolerating the molestation of children and it's just the same slippery slope fallacy perpetuated by people who are ignorant of the laws where it comes to the protection of children and more often than not with a hangup with homosexuality.

Firstly, let me say this. If you were abused and sexually assaulted as a child then I'm sorry beyond words that you had to endure such a horrific violation and words actually fall short. No child should ever have to suffer that and I won't pretend to know what that must have been like.

Secondly, I've worked in the care sector and there is no way on earth that what you and others have suffered would have a cat in hell's chance of becoming "normalized" in society. Child rape has zero tolerance and instances of physical, sexual, violence, mental and emotional abuse are investigated as a matter of course where flags are raised or concerns aired. This goes for adults too.

The system doesn't always get things right and tragedies still occur but don't conflate that with society having tolerance for kids getting abused, it doesn't.

Five-year-old autistic boy ‘put on record as sex offender’ after hugging classmate

A family in the United States says their five-year-old son with autism has been labelled a “sex offender” after he hugged a fellow classmate.

Nathan is a nursery school pupil at East Ridge Elementary in Chattanooga, Tennessee. School officials said he was warned several times but overstepped his boundaries in hugging another child.

Summery Putnam, the young boy’s guardian told a local TV outlet, News Channel 9, that she received a call from her son’s teacher at the start of September.

She said Nathan’s teacher told her he had been accused of “sexual activities” for hugging a child and kissing another on the cheek.

In a private Facebook post shared with News Channel 9, Nathan’s grandmother, Debi Amick, questioned how just it was that the school would not listen to the family or their doctor about the challenges the five-year-old was facing.

“It was disclosed that it will go in his record for the rest of his life that he is a sex offender,” she said.

It looks like the autistic five-year-old is now considered to be a pedophile.
