Tebow, Jefferson & Guns for Christmas

This is the show from Thursday, January 5th, 2011.

BEST QUOTE OF THE SHOW:
You know how the FBI tracks drug related crimes, drug related murder? They should track adultery related crime, fornication related crime, homosexuality related crime. And we would find out that it’s through the roof that sexual immorality is a major cause of assault and of murder. Major cause. And that’s one of the reasons God said Thou shall not.

SUMMARY:

* Fleeing Thomas Jefferson: Bob points out to co-host Doug McBurney that Thomas Jefferson called the New Testament a "dung hill" as Doug relates a story about the Smithsonian's display of Jefferson's 84 page version that leaves out the Resurrection.

* Bagging the Government Schools: A mother whose son was stuffed into a duffel bag as punishment at his government school has decided to home school the lad. Hear bob and Doug discuss the importance of raising kids right, and even some tips on how to do it!

* Adultery & Violent Crime: Doug asks Bob for Biblical guidance on a story about a homeowner who shot and killed a threatening intruder, (with a bow and arrow). After reveling in the joy of his gifts of real guns for his boys on Christmas, the details of the story lead Bob to a lively discussion of why sexual immorality has become a major factor in violent crime and what should be done about it.

* A Bold Prediction: Doug predicts a Bronco victory Sunday at Mile High, and even Rush Limbaugh shrinks from the debate.

Today's Resource: Meet the Apostle John. He was the youngest of the Twelve. And at the time of this writing, he's now one of the last remaining. If you were an eyewitness to Christ's earthly ministry, what would concern you decades after the resurrection? From the battles that John fought we can learn lessons that will help us as we ourselves fight for the truth and battle false teaching within the church. By looking at "the things that differ," we can know what details in John's three epistles applied to the circumcision believers of his day and which of his teachings apply directly to us. Available on this 4-DVD Video Set.

Ah, yes--with the specter of Islamic terrorism looming and plenty of domestic threats to worry about, tracking the private sex lives of American citizens sounds like a fantastic allocation of time, resources, energy, and tax dollars. Is this the US of A or Plymouth Colony?

Tebow will lose.

Why Christians act surprised when they take a peek into Thomas Jefferson's life continues to baffle me.

We need smaller govt, we need smaller govt, we need smaller govt.

Oh, unless it involves other peoples sex lives. Then we need more govt.

Trooper Joseph Drzal said Mr. Bittinger, who had been romantically involved with the man's wife, made several threatening phone calls to the man before driving up to his home to confront him. There, he threatened the man with a heavy wooden club.

The man told him to leave repeatedly. When Mr. Bittinger attempted to come up the stairs, the man shot him in the chest with an arrow. He died before first responders arrived.

Granite, when will you get unstupid?

Because he is a wolf in sheep's clothing, and they don't know he talks out of both sides of his mouth.

Which reminds me. John Adams was good, Jefferson isn't. Which is why the bong smokers love him so much.

Jefferson never made a secret out of his beliefs and only a Christian's gullibility or ignorance would ever lead them to think Jefferson was a believer.

And Adams was a Unitarian, by the way, with no love for organized religion or zealotry (see my signature). If by "good" you mean "smart enough to recognize the menace of Christianity," well said.
