Quick questions to a few comments:

ebenz47037: …my pastor's explanation. He said that the reason God allows bad things to happen (even though He knows ahead of time that it's going to happen), is to either get someone to turn to Him or strengthen their relationship with Him.
Please ask your pastor if it is true then, that allowing the rape of a twelve-year-old boy by his father is justified and compensated by the mother’s strengthened relationship with God.
famousGandalf7: That is sin. With Him, He 'allows,' sin, because the light is appreciated much more by one who has been through darkness.
If that is the case, can we not rightly say, “Let us do evil that the light of a holy God may be appreciated much more”?
Mr. Bean: God has different purposes with different people…
Do you mean to say that to one, God purposes to send him to hell, to the other, God purposes to send him to heaven? Are you saying that to this child, God’s purpose for her is to be brutally raped and killed and to another child, God’s purpose is to keep her from all physical harms?
David179: The truth is, the Sovereign Lord of the universe uses even evil for his purposes (Amos 3:6)... He has ordained certain bad things to come to pass for his overall purpose…restraining any sin that he has not ordained to come to pass…
Then, according to your interpretation, Amos is implying that evil is not genuinely evil but in fact an actual good. Is that assessment correct?

That’s all for now.

I did that when we were talking about predestination. That's what brought the whole thing about; the things that happen to children. He didn't answer.
