Political Thought for the Day: Ted Cruz

Certain Catholics like Ted Cruz? Ok. I might be convinced that he's worth voting for when he publically acknowledges and agrees with Pope Francis about climate change, wealth inequality and capitalism.

Also, how closely do his political positions accord with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops?

Ted Cruz supporters: thoughts on this?

Politics trump religion.

Google Teddy on climate change. At a recent Koch brothers conference for Big $ people he claimed that there has been no warming for the past 18 years and the scientists are "cooking the books" like Enron did.

Googling Teddy on your two other issues seems to suggest:
1. He notes income inequality and suggests it is not a good thing and then blames Obama but I have found nothing to suggest what he would do to alleviate the problem.
2. He decries "crony capitalism" and the fact that Dodd-Frank, for example, maybe did not go far enough dealing with banks too-big-to fail, but then again his wife works for Goldman-Sachs.

I have not done an extensive search on Teddy but did pick up on those areas.

why do you think "income inequality" is a problem?

what do you think should be done about it?

do you think everyone should have an equal amount of income?

are you willing to give me some of yours?

Wealth equality is insane! Therefore, wealth inequality is the natural state of healthy individualism.

Being that Ted Cruz isn't a socialist like your activist Pope is, don't look for him to jump on board with you leftwing Catholics.

Fox News Columnist Attacks Pope Francis, Calls Him Catholic Church's Obama

"...In a column published in The Washington Informer earlier this week, leftwing activist, the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., commended the words of Pope Francis.

"Pope Francis is displaying an extraordinary style and passion that demands our attention. He addresses the needs of the poor, embraces outcasts, and loves those on the margins of society," wrote Jackson."

i.e you're cherry picking from leftwing websites to make it appear Ted Cruz agrees with socialist policies.
