Employment contracts are for the benefit of the employer as well as the employee, it's not about socialism but more about security. If an employee abuses his/her contract he/she can be rightfully sacked - on the spot if the misconduct is severe enough. An employer benefits from having staff who are protected by the contract provided they fulfil their duties and whatnot. It makes more sense than having a job one day and then being told the next it's no longer there because your shirt isn't the right colour...an exaggerated example but just to make the point.
Yeah, but then government gets involved. I'm all for private contracts. Such allow people to have and run a business, up front, they way they deem best without a bunch of other people sticking their noses in other's business. We 'act' too much like socialism in too many parts of the globe when we aren't supposed to. Capitalism doesn't work with too much interference.

More liberal censorship

Marquette University is a private, coeducational, Jesuit, Roman Catholic university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Neither the Jesuits nor the Roman Catholic Church could be considered bastions of "liberalism!"
"Liberal" generally means "liberal beyond moral values." If you want to say neither the RC nor the Jesuits are bastions of Christian values...
I'd assume that they hired a gay advocate on staff and that they were putting the traditional family values guy on hiatus, either means no they are not, or that the affiliation is rather loose. I'll leave it up to the Catholics to spell that one out: Either they are for gay values and rights, or they are not very involved with this college, or, they have a lousy track record of where values meet the road, or, all of the above (perhaps none of the above, but it walks like a duck).
:idunno: What are you trying to say?
