The pot that I am referring to is, with little debate, the largest subject of discourse in America.
Care to guess?
Clue, It is ginormous and over 1/3rd of our nation gets something from this pot.
It is the US Federal budget.
The federal budget is the biggest pot of money in existence. And it is the pot that stirs us all, as it takes by force from some and by threat of force is given to others.
The discourse about the pot is directly proportional to its size. As the pot increases so will the discourse.
Now on to the volume of that discourse.
The decibel level is directly proportional to the amount of people receiving a portion from the pot. The higher percentage of takers v. "givers" will raise or lower the decibel level, accordingly.

It is the pot that stirs leaders to lead people into ciaos, as they attempt to get their cut of the public largesse and the power derived therefrom.
There is only one way to reduce the decibel level of discourse in our country and that is to reduce the size of the pot that stirs us all.
