Hi to all and many have a nHARD TIME with WATER BAPTISM and its VARIOUS meaning and when WATER / HYDOR is used !!

In Acts 18:8 it reads like this : But Crispus , the ruler of the synagogue , believed ( in ) the Lord with his whole house, and many of nthe Corinthians hearing , were believeing and were being BAPTIZED / BAPTIZO !!

#1 , One poster may believe , since Paul was in Acts 18:1 , that Paul did the water baptism , NO !!

#2 , In verse 4 , Paul was preaching to Jews on every Sabbath !!

#3 In verse 5 it says what Paul was preaching to these Jews and Greeks , and it was JESUS WAS THE CHRIST in other words that Jesus was the MESSIAH !!

#4 In verse 8 they Believed and where WATER / HYDOR ,BAPTIZO or Baptized !!

#5 The reason that they were WATER BAPTIZED is because they were LAW KEEPERS and Baptism is part of the Law and becuase of Acts 2:38 !!

#6 Here is the GOOD PART as , The second verb BELIEVED , is in the Greek IMPERFECT TENSE and the verb WERE BAPTIZED is also in the Greek IMPERFECT TENSE !!

#7 In other words the IMPERFECT TENSE means that BAPTISM began in Matt 3 and would soon STOP at Acts 28:28 and Acts 18:6 confirms it !!

#8 Paul did not do the Water Baptism as in Acts 21:21 Paul was teaching AGAINST THE LAW of MOSES !!

Do you even realize what you're saying?

First off, baptism is not part of the law. Yes there were washing but no baptism. That didn't start till John. Even with John it wasn't part of the law. Do you have scripture to show it?

Secondly, you're saying that although Paul was preaching the gospel, he allowed these people to practice something he didn't teach or wasn't part of the gospel?
Acts 18:8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.

Hi and better read Heb 9:10 and find out what DIVERS WSAHING MEANS but is is the Greek word BAPTISMOS or BAPTISMS !!

Check the Greek text and you will see !!

Does it say Paul BAPTIZED in Acts 18:8 !!

As I said WATER BAPTISM was being FAXED out as God said John WATER BAPTIZED , but you will be BAPTIZED by the Holy Spirit , and it says there were 2 BAPTISMS fot Israel , ALSO !!

One by Water Baptism and the other by the Holy Spirit BAPTISM !!

How about that !!
