The Free Kent Hovind Facebook page just posted message from his son, Eric, stating that he just received word from the government that they are dismissing all charges. It says they will post more info asap. Not positive what it all means, but hopefully it means he will be released from prison. The Baptist pastor has been imprisoned for the past decade on trumped up charges and persecuted by the government. Please pray for Dr. Hovind that he will be released from prison immediately. And praise God for the good news being released about his case.

i viewed 2 of his lectures years ago, but i don't know any details of his charges or incarceration. purely speculation on my part, but i think he made some influential and powerful enemies in academia and elsewhere, and it wouldn't surprise me if charges were creatively imposed - he lost 10 years of his life and family, that has no price - :patrol:

From what I've read, the main charge is called "structuring" which is when you withdraw less than $10000 at a time from your bank because its not reported to the government I guess. Its not illegal to do this but the charge can be construed in a way that is useful for catching drug dealers. So they pulled a technicality on him.

He was also charged with threatening an IRS agent because he prayed for him on the radio. The govt said it was a threat. It's all a bunch of trumped up charges by the wicked govt that hates the truth.

You haven't heard the full story, it's quite extensive. Among the allegations--failure to file income tax returns (despite making bank deposits well in excess of $1M per year), failure to obtain a business license or register as a non-profit, paying people who worked for him with cash and not withholding taxes (workers are missionaries who work for God and therefore cannot be taxed, he explained ), claimed amusement park admission and merchandise sales belonged to God and cannot be taxed, filing for bankruptcy and falsely claiming the IRS was his only creditor, destroying subpoenaed tax records, etc. etc.

Science is the means by which we understand the natural world through observation and experimentation. The idea that nothing exploded and turned into everything by itself is not science. It has never been observed and not able to be tested. The idea that a species can change into another species has not been observed and cannot be tested. Its not science. Its philosophy and a ridiculous one at that.

Prosecutors always multiply the charges so they can pretend to drop some and negotiate for plea bargaining.

In this case, the prosecutors were pedophiles who should be taken out and shot.
