6. Cainan……………………… Sorrow (but)
7. Mahalalel…………………… The Blessed God
8. Jared…………………………….Shall come down
9. Enoch………………………… Teaching
10 Methuselah………………… His death shall bring
11Lamech…………………………The despairing
12. Noah………………………… Comfort or Rest

Translated:........... The Message contained in the Ten Names =
"Man, Acquired, Breath, Appointed ,Sorrow, (but) The blessed God, Shall come down, Teaching, His death shall bring, The despairing, Comfort or Rest.

The number twelve is significant in Scripture as there are 12 tribes of Israel and 12 Apostles.

A few thoughts.
  1. There are more than twelve apostles. I can think of fifteen right off the bat.
    12 + Paul + Barnabas + Jesus
    NOTE: The word "apostle" only appears in the Greek portion of the Bible, but many of the old covenant prophets could probably also be considered "apostles", since apostle means "messenger" (particularly one sent from God).
  2. The reason that Jesus chose 12 apostles during His earthly ministry to and for Israel was due to there being 12 tribes of Israel. So those are not really two "different twelves".
  3. 12 is an interesting number since it is divisible by 2, 3, 4 and 6.
    This can be very convenient, like having twelve apostles names on 4 walls (Rev. 21:14).
