Rom 6:12-18

Brothers and sisters:
Sin must not reign over your mortal bodies
so that you obey their desires.
And do not present the parts of your bodies to sin
as weapons for wickedness,
but present yourselves to God as raised from the dead to life
and the parts of your bodies to God
as weapons for righteousness.
For sin is not to have any power over you,
since you are not under the law but under grace.

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law
but under grace?
Of course not
!
Do you not know that if you present yourselves
to someone as obedient slaves,
you are slaves of the one you obey,
either of sin, which leads to death,
or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
But thanks be to God that, although you were once slaves of sin,
you have become obedient from the heart
to the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted.
Freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness.

Gospel Lk 12:39-48

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be sure of this:
if the master of the house had known the hour
when the thief was coming,
he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

Then Peter said,
“Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?”
And the Lord replied,
“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward
whom the master will put in charge of his servants
to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, he will put him
in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself,
‘My master is delayed in coming,’
and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants,
to eat and drink and get drunk [sinful acts, obviously],
then that servant’s master will come
on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour
and will punish the servant severely
and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master’s will
but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will
shall be beaten severely;
and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will
but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating
shall be beaten only lightly [Purgatory].
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much,
and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”

They believe that you can not fall away. If the good BOOK says that you can fall away, then you can fall away.
4 Some people cannot be brought back again to a changed life. They were once in God’s light, and enjoyed heaven’s gift, and shared in the Holy Spirit. 5 They found out how good God’s word is, and they received the powers of his new world. 6 But they fell away from Christ. It is impossible to bring them back to a changed life again, because they are nailing the Son of God to a cross again and are shaming him in front of others. Heb 6 NCV

John 10:27-29 New King James Version (NKJV)

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Of course, you're coming from a "Catholic" perspective. Your
church doesn't preach the Gospel for today. (The Grace Gospel;
Paul's Gospel) We're living in the "Dispensation of Grace" according
to the Apostle Paul. The Catholic church is still living in accordance
with the law! The law, won't save you people.

26 If we decide to go on sinning after we have learned the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. 27 There is nothing but fear in waiting for the judgment and the terrible fire that will destroy all those who live against God. 28 Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was found guilty from the proof given by two or three witnesses. He was put to death without mercy. 29 So what do you think should be done to those who do not respect the Son of God, who look at the blood of the agreement that made them holy as no different from others’ blood, who insult the Spirit of God’s grace? Surely they should have a much worse punishment. 30 We know that God said, “I will punish those who do wrong; I will repay them.” Heb 10 NCV

Not so fast! It depends on the kind of salvation one is talking about. Once saved-always saved works only in the case of universal salvation. For personal salvation we must work on it daily for the rest of our lives. Although both methods are conditional, universal salvation is free, while personal salvation is not.

Righteous Abel was saved by grace so it's always been the "dispensation" of grace. However, Paul did preach the gospel of the kingdom of God which requires grace.

For the pure Roman Catholic, OSAS is deadly poison. The Roman church is destroyed where ever the teaching is established.

Righteous Abel was not saved as he was killed. Saved from what then if he was righteous?

:eek:linger: False (2 Co 5:8). :dizzy:

See:

No Purgatory

there IS a Purgatory

I look around and see how AWFUL most humans are...

and I see some who at least try to follow Jesus... yet they are selfish and materialistic and etc...

they do not belong in Heaven but also do not belong in Hell

I have heard non-Catholics say that Purgatory is totally logical

to say there is no Purgation before Heaven is NOT logical

it is actually insane (seeing how holy God is... "His eyes are too pure to look upon sin" it says in the Bible)
