9th Day 59%! Openness Debate & Senate Hearing Debriefs

This is the show from Tuesday February 13th, 2007.

SUMMARY:

* Johnny from Compton CA: Caller Johnny heard the debate live between Bob Enyart and Pastor Gene Cook on the topic of Openness Theology, titled, "Is the Future Settled or open?" Hear Johnny's take on this fabulous debate! (And look for excerpts to air on future BEL shows, and for the entire debate to be made available soon on CD in the BEL Store!)

* Senate Hearing on an Abortion Ban: Christians testified yesterday in favor of Senate Bill 143 introduced by Sen. Scott Renfro which would have prohibited abortion in the state of Colorado. Of course, if the life of the mother is threatened, the doctor should attempt to save the mother, and if at all possible, the baby also! Even in such a case, the goal of medical treatment would never be to kill the baby. Support for the bill was led by Brian Rohrbough, president of Colorado Right to Life, and powerful testimony also given by board members Lolita Hanks and Joseph Riccobono, and others including Ken and Jo Scott. Before voting to kill the bill, the Committee voted to amend it to permit the killing of a child whose father is a rapist."

* Thanks to You!: Our annual BEL February telethon has raised $14,875 (so close to $15,000!) which is 59% (so close to 60%!) of our vital $25,000 goal!
