A few things to note about these verses. KJV uses the word God but the ancient word used was elohiym and it sometime referred to the Most High God. It is a collective noun (Strong's Concordance) It represents multiple members but it is used with a singular verb. EX. Our team is winning. etc...

Tribulation is an English word for Xterrible times. Haven't we always had isolated tribulations and huge ones caused by nature and caused by enemies? Might a WWIII be a tribulation in which we might suffer? Do we jump to the everything being the Wrath of God??? THE End Time Tribulation?
