What God has done for all those Christ died for ! cont

We are looking at the fact that Christ has been made of God unto all for whom He died " Sanctification"

This sanctification provides us [those whom Christ for or in behalf of] A New Heart, A New Spirit, A New sanctified Understanding of the Gospel , which is a must to even begin to understand the Gospel Matt 13:23

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Also with the New Heart and New Spirit comes New sanctified desires and affections for the things of God, so with this principle of sanctification, we are enabled to seek and desire those things pleasing to God, we are enabled to perform Spiritual Obedience to the Commands of the Gospel such as Believe or and Repent ! Acts 17:30; Acts 16:31

Yes, these are Gospel commands of obedience to those who have been Given a New Spirit, A New Heart, and a New Understanding through New Birth, which is How Christ is made unto us Sanctification !

What God has done for all those Christ died for ! cont

Christ being of God unto all for whom He died, Sanctification as Per 1 Cor 1:30

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

And that this Sanctification is an inward communication of Spiritual enablement, it is confirmed in Hebrews, where comparisons of the effects of the offerings made under the Law by its high priests, and the Offering made by Christ the Great His Priest of an Superior Covenant, lets notice Heb 9:11-14

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience or soul from dead works to serve the living God?

The Blood of Christ effects inward and soul reaching Sanctification or purging this word purge is the greek word katharizō:

to consecrate by cleansing or purifying

Consecrate means to set apart to the Service of God. This is because Christ's Blood alone redeems us Spiritually and causes us to Live and Serve the Living God. This is the outcome of Christ having of God been made unto us Sanctification 1 Cor 1:30 !

Gospel Mystery

Preaching Christ is Preaching God's Mystery Col 2:2

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

And this Mystery must be revealed 1 Cor 2:6-8

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God[ 1 Cor 1:24] in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Eph 6:19

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

1 Tim 3:9

Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

The Gospel of Christ, the Mystery of Christ cannot be apprehended by our natural understanding. You think Paul says in vain here 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

What spiritual things is Paul referring to here ? This 1 Cor 2:1-2

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

The Things of the Cross, to the natural mind they are foolishness.
Paul says it more clearer here 1 Cor 1:18

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

To them that perish or to them of a natural mind ! So how is it that many these days say the natural man can choose to believe the Preaching of the Cross ? They have to tear these scripture testimonies out of the bible !

Non Imputation of sin to God's Elect !

That Non Imputation of sin to God's Elect World is an Gospel Doctrine is seen in Paul's Preaching here 2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

We know the World here does not mean everyone without exception, simply because many have their sin imputed to them, like those here Jn 8:24

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

So how is it possible for these to die in their sins if they had not been imputed to their charge ? So it is quite reasonable to conclude that they belonged not to the World of 2 Cor 5:19 ! But that there is a World that sin, trespasses were not charged to, and Paul preached of, is clearly seen here in 2 Cor 5:19 and there is no Gospel message without this Truth and the explaining of it !

Non Imputation of sin to God's Elect !

This Gospel Truth of non Imputation of sin to God's Elect, those who Christ has died for, is most Illustrated in this OT story, that of balaam, and it was so occasion that these words of God were spoken Num 23:21

21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

Now we must not conclude from this that God did not actually see all the sins that this people did commit daily, their idolatries, their sinful murmuring and complaining against God and His servants, like Moses, but God never see's iniquity in that people as to charge it against them, or to impute it as to curse them, as it does to all outside of Christ, and of which in the story here balaam attempted to do out of covetousness, which he was hired to do, and so it is with the Israel or Jacob of God, whom satan would accuse before God as law breakers Rev 12:10 but as with Israel of old the Type of the Church or Israel of God, the Law of God cannot curse God's whom Christ died for because of non imputation ! Lets look at Rom 4:7-8

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

This automatically lets us no that those whose sins are not imputed to them, means that they forgiven !

2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Hence this world is a forgiven world, because its sins were not imputed to it.

Now answer me this, at what time did God ever account His Israel of God in Christ, to not to impute sin unto it, if He actually did not do it in Himself before the World began ?

Num 23:21

21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

Yes God does actually in time see iniquity in His Chosen People, for by nature, they are as others [the non elect] children of wrath, that is in a nature and behaving experientially as those destined or appointed to wrath 1 Thess 5:9; but God never does hold that against them in a way of condemnation and as objects of His Eternal Vengeance 2 Thess 1:8, yet He will reprove it and chasten them for it out of Fatherly Love Heb 12:5-11 !

Eternal Justification in the Gospel because of Non Imputation!

2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

When else could it have been that this non imputation of sin unto God's Elect, The World, but in the Eternal engagements of the Everlasting Covenant, when Christ agreed and became the Surety, voluntarily bound Himself to satisfy God's Law and Justice in their behalf, and hence, that God the Father in trust in His Son's fidelity, freely dismissed the Elect from all charges of iniquity that was rightly due unto them and hence their Justification Rom 3:24

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

And when He became sin for them by imputation and Covenant Suretyship, they also became the Righteousness of God in Him 2 Cor 5:21, this occurred at whatever point from Everlasting, that their sins and the condemnation of it was imputed to Christ, so that He would in the fullness of time come forth and make satisfaction for them, they therefore being forever discharged in the chambers of the Heavenly Court, where these things were Transacted and agreed upon between the Father and the Son, and the Spirit beareth witness !

Now based upon the Covenant fact of agreement that Christ would come in the fulness of time to pay the sin debt that the elect would incur in time, the World was Created with the sin debt of Adam and the Elect in Him, already imputed to Christ charge. Adam and the Elect in Him were already Justified from all sin[By Non Imputation] before the world began !

Thats Paul's Gospel here 2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Everyone of this World is born already reconciled to God by non imputation ! Rom 4:7-8

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man [or world] to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Salvation is based on a Promise !

One of the things that proves universal atonement an error, is the Salvation or Eternal Life is premised upon God's Promise, and the Promise is limited to a certain, particular People, so unless one believes in particular Atonement , they do not have True God given Faith, or the Faith of God's Elect ! Titus 1:1-2

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

There is only one people that God has promised to save, and that is Israel, the Israel of God, a Elect People. Isa 45:17

But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Yes, the World of Israel shall be saved in the Lord ! Thats a Promise, and God given Faith only embraces God's Word of Promise.

Paul when preaching the Gospel made it specifically clear that God according to Promise, raised up a Saviour unto Israel Acts 13:23

Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Paul preached this same Truth to the Gentiles the following Sabbath Acts 13:42

42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

This was all providentially arranged, because Paul had earlier been set apart for the Ministry unto the Gentiles Acts 13:1-2

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

So the sermon Paul Preached to the jews about God having raised up to Israel an Saviour according to Promise, particularly this one Isa 45:17 and perhaps this one as well Isa 45:25

In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

The Gospel Promised applied to the Gentiles as well, Yes, the Gospel Promises of Salvation of Israel applied to Gentiles, but it was a Mystery ! Eph 3:6

That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

What Promise of the Gospel ? This One Isa 45:17

But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

That is a Gospel Promise, Eternal Salvation !

However, the Gentiles are part of a salvation Promise that is for only a Specific People, Israel ! So even as a Gentile one would have to embrace that Salvation was promised to only a Specific People ! The Mystery was that, some Gentiles belonged to that Specific seed Israel that God Promised to save ! Now unless we believe this, that Salvation was only for a Specific People, and not the Whole World in General, then we do not have True Biblical God give Faith !

The Hope of the Gospel !

The Hope of the Gospel, which was originally from a Prophetic standpoint, the Hope of Israel and the Fathers of which Paul makes reference to here when preaching to King Agrippa Acts 26:6-7

6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

Also mentioned here Acts 28:20

For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

Remember Paul was bound for dedication to get the Gospel out to the Gentiles ! Col 4:3

3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Now this same Gospel Hope of Israel ,Paul preached to the Gentiles in Colosse Col 1:25-28

25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Now lets compare Col 1:27 with Isa 46:13

I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

This was stated because of the Riches of Christ towards Israel, The Israel of God, God's True Covenant people through Christ, and now that is what the Mystery reveals, that Gentiles are partakers of the same Hope of Glory as Elect Israel, Paul's point in Col 1:27

Now the Gentile Salvation with the Hope of Israel, the preaching of the Mystery, this completes the Word of God or the Promise of God for Salvation, this terminates and fulfills all God has made known to man, this Mystery ushers in the return of Christ and the End of the World !

How that Christ died for Our Sins !

1 Cor 15:3

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Paul received this Gospel of Christ by revelation as stated by him here Gal 1:12-13

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

So the Gospel Paul Preached was of a Jesus Christ that was Revealed to Him, it was taught him by revelation. All the elect of God shall be Taught of God of whom Jesus Christ is Jn 6:45

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

In Preaching Christ, the one whom Paul said that died for our sins, we must Preach as Paul did, just whom Christ is revealed to be in scripture. One of those revelations as to who Christ is that died for our sins that was revealed to Paul is found here Col 1:18

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Yes, Paul preached that Christ, whom died for our sins, that he is the Head of the body, the Church ! So that's who died for our sins ! Now who are the our sins in this case ? Why its the Church, the Body, and this is collaborated here in Eph 5:25,23

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;[Died for its sins]

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Saviour of the body.

Yes, Christ is only the Saviour of His Body the Church whom He gave Himself for it !

This is one of the Mystery's of Christ and of the Gospel that was revealed to Paul as to who Christ died for Eph 5:32

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Thats the Christ He Preached in 1 Cor 15:3.

How long has Christ been the Head of the Church ? Since the Beginning Col 1:18

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

The Gospel of the Kingdom !

Matt 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The Gospel of the Kingdom or of the New Creation 2 Cor 5:17

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

What is this Gospel of the Kingdom ? This is a Gospel [when regarding Salvation] that is directed to men and women who are in the Spiritual Kingdom of Christ by New Birth or translation Col 1:13

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Again, that is if it is to be the Gospel of their Salvation Eph 1:13 or otherwise it is a message of Death 2 Cor 2:15-16

15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

The Gospel of the Kingdom contains Truths that only those born spiritually in Christ kingdom will be able to see or understand Jn 3:3

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Matt 13:23,19

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

In Vs 19 it is called this:

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom

1 Cor 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And to deny that one must have to some degree a level of understanding to receive or believe the Gospel, does contradict Matt 13:23

Now this does not mean that one will understand everything of the Gospel all at once, but it does mean, that whatever portion of Gospel Truth that God hath been pleased to send one by His Providence, that they have been spiritually compacted to receive that their portion of meat in due season Lk 12:42

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

And from that point onward, Christ will continue to Shepherd them with His Truth by the Power of the Holy Spirit working in them 1 Jn 2:20,27

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Must Hear the Word and Understand it !

Matt 13:23,19

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

If we pay attention to Jesus words here, one must not only hear the Word of the Gospel to believe it, but also understand it !

So that means hear when Paul wrote to the Ephesians this Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard[and understood] the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

That word understand in Matt 13:23 is the greek word syniēmi and means:

to set or bring together

a) in a hostile sense, of combatants

2) to put (as it were) the perception with the thing perceived

a) to set or join together in the mind

1) i.e. to understand: the man of understanding

2) idiom for: a good and upright man (having the knowledge of those things which pertain to salvation)

Now in another scripture, Paul makes it clear that the Natural Man does not Understand nor seeks the True God Rom 3:11

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Also before New Birth the scripture says that the faculty of understanding is darkened Eph 4:18

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

While alienated from God in the unregenerate state, the understanding is darkened Col 1:21

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

So it is impossible for an unregenerate person to hear, understand, and believe the Gospel of the Kingdom Matt 13:23, Eph 1:13

If one does believe the Gospel while alienated from God in a spiritual dead state of enmity, then they have done that which scripture states cannot be done, they have used their natural understanding to believe the Gospel

1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

In order to believe the Gospel as a Word of Salvation the Spiritual Truths it presents to the Mind must be spiritually discerned.

To Spiritually Discern Spiritual Truth one must be born into that Spiritual Kingdom of Realm of Things ! Jn 3:3

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The one in Matt 13:23 that heard and understood, with the Good Ground Heart, was one who had been Born into the Kingdom of God !

Who obeys the Gospel ?

Who obeys the Gospel ?

Isa 50:10

10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

Those who obeys the voice of God's Servants, such as the Apostles, the Preachers of the Gospel were Rom 1:1

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

And as when this Gospel Servant commanded the Phillipian Jailor to Believe on Christ as Per Acts 16:30-31

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

The word believe here is the greek word Pisteuo and means:

to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in

a) of the thing believed

1) to credit, have confidence

b) in a moral or religious reference

1) used in the NT of the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of soul

2) to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: saving faith

3) mere acknowledgment of some fact or event: intellectual faith

2) to entrust a thing to one, i.e. his fidelity

a) to be intrusted with a thing

The word also means to commit !

As well in the Acts 16:31 reference it is an imperative in the greek:

The imperative mood corresponds to the English imperative, and expresses a command to the hearer to perform a certain action by the order and authority of the one commanding. Thus, Jesus' phrase, "Repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mk.1:15) is not at all an "invitation," but an absolute command requiring full obedience on the part of all hearers.

Now who is it that obeys the voice of the Apostles or the other Gospel Servants ? It is those fearing the Lord ! Isa 50:10

10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

The Phillipian Jailor was at that time one that feareth the Lord by New Birth, and was in darkness as to the way of Righteousness or Salvation.

However, now being also born again, given a New Heart and Spirit, he could obey the voice of the servants of God, and believe on, commit to Jesus Christ.

When God's Fear is put into our hearts, then we depart from evil Prov 14:16

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Prov 16:6

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

Such a one must be the Jailor to obey the voice of Paul, the commissioned Servant of Jesus Christ 2 Cor 5:20, Such Persons to obey this command of the Gospel must fear God, and that by New Birth, because we men do not fear God by Nature according to scripture here Rom 3:18

18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

So it is those who have been given a New Heart by New Birth that obeys the Gospel Ezk 36:26-27

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The Gospel of the Kingdom !

The Gospel of the Kingdom !

Matt 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The Gospel of the Kingdom, as it is for [ Salvation] a Gospel suited only for those birthed or translated into the Kingdom of God or of His Son Per Jn 3:3

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Col 1:12-13

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

So it is with the Gospel of the New Creation 2 Cor 5:17, it is a Gospel suited only for those who are translated into the Kingdom of Christ, those who hath passed from death to life Jn 5:24 !

Its a Gospel suited only for those who are newly Created men as here Eph 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Yes, when old things have passed away, and all things become New, A New Covenant, and the Gospel of the New Creation is proclaimed here in 2 Cor 5:19,20

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

And the Call of that Gospel to the Kingdom or New Creation citizens is Vs 20

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Mind you, this call is restricted to those who are already New Creations or of the New Creation or Men Created New Eph 4:24 ! It is an imperative call to only the redeemed, reconciled, born again, New Creatures in Christ, and only them will be able to understand the Gospel of Reconciliation or the witnessed word of Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:19-21 !

To all others, this Gospel of the New Creation or the Kingdom will be perverted by them, or denied and rejected !

The Primary and Initial Rule of the Gospel as it pertains to Salvation, is that its sent by God as a testimony from Him of ones Justification and Righteousness in Christ their Surety before Faith makes it known to their consciousness Heb 9:14

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

For the Testimony is Rom 5:6

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. He died for our Sins 1 Cor 15:3

And by that death, all for whom Christ died, they were Justified before God by His Blood Rom 5:9 and Reconciled to God while enemies Rom 5:10, which simply means before Faith or believing.

You see before Faith and even before we had a being literally in this life physically, Christ hath already before God's Law and Justice Col 2:14-15

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

This was solely accomplished by His Cross, and this is Justification by His Blood or because of His Blood and Reconciliation by His Death, before we are given both being and faith. The blessing of what Christ did for me in Col 2:14 is not contingent upon my faith, for I had no being at all when He did that for me or any other elect person He died for and satisfied God's Law and Justice for !

To deny this is to deny the Gospel. This His death, as in He died for us Rom 5:6-8, it put away our sin and condemnation which was written against us Col 2:14, for it was imputed to Christ, and He by His death perfected us forever Heb 10:14, and giving us also a irreversible Eternal Redemption and Justification Heb 9:12

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal Redemption / Justification for us.

This is God's Testimony in the Gospel for all for whom Christ died !

Must first have the Spirit of God !

Must first have the Spirit of God !

New birth before Faith or believing on Christ or The Gospel because of Salvation is taught in many places in the scripture !

One of the places is here 1 Cor 2:11-14

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

A Person must first receive the Spirit of God in New Birth, before we are spiritually capacitated to KNOW the things freely given to us of God, which things are made known in the Gospel !

The word know in Vs 12 is the greek word eido which means to know by perception.

To perceive the Things freely given us. The words freely given is the greek charizomai which means:

to do something pleasant or agreeable (to one), to do a favour to, gratify

a) to show one's self gracious, kind, benevolent

b) to grant forgiveness, to pardon

c) to give graciously, give freely, bestow

1) to forgive

2) graciously to restore one to another

3) to preserve for one a person in peril

These are things of Justification, forgiveness of sins ,preservation from wrath

Now to know these things savingly and experimentally through the Gospel, we must first have had received the Spirit of God or these Gospel Truths cannot be received by the Natural Man as stated in Vs 14 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The things of the Spirit of God is first and foremost the Gospel, the Cross of Christ, these Truths surrounding it are foolishness to the Natural man, which simply is any man not born again of the Spirit. The greek word for foolishness is mōria, close to our English word moron which means:

a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment.

The Gospel Truths to the natural man sounds foolish to him, or sounds like folly or they are nonsense to him, neither can he know or understand them.

Now according to Paul, the Preaching of the Cross, the Gospel is to some foolishness 1 Cor 1:18

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The Truths of the Cross are the same as those things of the Spirit of God in 1 Cor 2:12-14

So the natural man and the man that is perishing in their sins, cannot know and embrace and receive into their understanding the Truths of the Gospel.

Jesus said once before which confirms this Truth Jn 8:47

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

People who say that the Gospel is so simple that a baby can understand it, they are foolish and ignorant to the Truth. The Natural man cannot understand the Gospel, let alone a natural child.

However, if God has capacitated by New Birth either a man or child to receive the Gospel, to them it will be a message of simplicity as Paul tells these same Corinthians later 2 Cor 11:

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

But remember, its simplicity unto them because of what Paul stated earlier 1 Cor 2:12-13

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

He spake that concerning only those he had good reason to believe they had been given the Spirit of God, so Yes, to them, the Gospel is a message of simplicity, but not to the Natural man !

Must first have the Spirit of God ! cont

Must first have the Spirit of God ! cont

One of the reasons why a man must have the Spirit of God already before he can believe the Gospel Message of the Cross, its because without it [The Spirit] man cannot understand the Gospel, its absolute foolishness to him, Paul's point in 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The word know here is the greek word ginōskō and means:

to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel

a) to become known

2) to know, understand, perceive, have knowledge of

a) to understand

The word is translated understand 8 times in the NT, here is an example:

Jn 8:43

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Now Jesus states later why they do not understand when they hear His Word in vs 47

Jn 8:47

He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

The Natural man cannot, does not have the capacity spiritually to hear and understand the Things of God, the Gospel.

And Jesus is very clear as who it is that hears the Gospel and bears fruit upon hearing, here Matt 13:23

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Now, its quite obvious this he, could not have been a mere natural man because if he was, how could he not be like other natural men as described here 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know or understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The answer is, this man in Matt 13:23 was already born of God, born of the Spirit, who had already received the Spirit in New Birth !

Thats why its said of him, that he received the seed of the word in Good Ground !

Hearing the Gospel of Salvation !

Hearing the Gospel of Salvation !

Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Whenever hearing or heard ,or hear are mentioned positively in regards to Salvation and Gospel matters, it always denotes the ability to hear has been given or the [spiritual] ears have been opened.

For the Hearing as in Rom 10:17

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

This is not a mere physical hearing with a physical ear, but a spiritual hearing given by spiritual life !

So when Paul writes in Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Paul means that they had been given the ability to hear the Word of Truth, by the Spirit of Truth. One must be of the Truth to hear it Jn 18:37

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

In this consideration see Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Because they shall be of the Truth !

Those who have been given the ability to hear the Truth when it comes, such hearing automatically issues into believing the Truth, because the Spirit of God has given life to both hear and believe the Truth 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Yes the ability to hear spiritually is an aspect of the Sanctification of the Spirit, which results in belief of the Truth, since the Truth is sanctified, the vessel receiving it must also be sanctified [experimentally] !

Jesus speaking at one time made this statement Jn 8:47

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

This statement is very similar to His statement shown earlier Jn 18:37

37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

And He means simply this, that it takes being already of God to hear [spiritually] words of Truth [as the Gospel is] which He did speak !

Again, when Jesus said that He had other Sheep [outside of the jewish fold] that SHALL hear His Voice Jn 10:16, He knew this because they shall be already prepared to by first being of God by New Birth when the time and opportunity arrived for them to hear the Truth sent to them as Per Rom 10:14-17

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Paul also knew that Gentiles will be sent this Gospel and will hear it Acts 28:28

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

This is but a confirmation of what Jesus said here Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Because they will have been given the ability to hear by the New Birth !

The primary reason for the Gospel being sent out !

The primary reason for the Gospel being sent out !

The primary reason for the Gospel being sent out by God to all the World, was that God's Elect or Sheep or His Church, all the same, who were born again of the resurrection of Christ and incorruptible seed 1 Pet 1:3,23 that their salvation should be made known to them and to bring them to the obedience of the Faith Rom 16:25-26

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

That also they should come to a Knowledge of their Justification by Faith Gal 3:8

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

For when Paul says that the Gospel is the Power of God unto Salvation [meaning Conversion] to everyone that is believing, he is not merely referring to the Preached Gospel only, but when that Preached Gospel is spiritually applied to the New Heart given in Regeneration or New Birth, hence that is why Paul said to the believing Thessalonians 1 Thess 1:5

5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

But it [ The Gospel ] came by the powerful application work of the Spirit, hence giving them inward conviction [Faith] of it's Truthfulness as it pertained to them individually !

That word assurance is the greek word plērophoria and means:

full assurance, most certain confidence

to make one certain, to persuade, convince one

2) to be persuaded, persuaded, fully convinced or assured

And that is what Faith primarily is, for its the word pistis and means:

conviction of the truth of anything , persuade

a) to persuade, i.e. to induce one by words to believe

So Paul could have very well said 1 Thess 1:5

5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much faith or persuasion; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

All whom were Newly Born by the Spirit the Gospel preached unto them would cause them to be persuaded and believe ! And so to them, its the Power of God unto Salvation !
